Meghan's POV
I had to remain calm in this situation because I hadn't even been expecting both Jade and Adrian to act like my body guards like that! "Hey, I don't appreciate any of these nonsense. You're coming back home with me this instant!" Alec said, for some reason he thought he still had rights over me. Before anyone could say anything, I was forced to burst out to laughter. He frowned, watching me like I'd just ran mad. I didn't care. "For years I've been married to you. You never seem to care about me, but now you want me back home?" I asked looking certainly puzzled! His lips pouted as he frowned. "But you're still my wife--" Jade stepped forward. "Come on, love. We have work to do. You shouldn't waste your time here with this one." "Yes that's right." Adrian added. "I have great news for you. Shall we all meet over at your office?" I nodded and turned to head to my office when I felt a strong grip on my hand. "Ouch. Let go of me!" "Regina, I--" Punch! It was so hard that it knocked him down, causing him to fall unconscious one time. At the office clinic, the nurse had just left after attending to him. I was forced to at least wait until he opened his eyes. A loud groan escaped from him as he began to open his eyes. "This hurt like crazy!" He cried out whining like a baby. I got up, "Well Adrian shouldn't have punched you hard like that. He sends his apology." Alec jumped up to sit, "Wait--W...where are you going? Look at me! I'm hurt and you'd rather leave me here all alone? Ouch!" He winced as he pressed his nose slightly. It had been bandaged. "Oh I just here to make sure you didn't die from that little punch, and you awake now has given me my answers. You want pampering? I'll go get Mira for you." Anger filled me. I didn't want to sound petty now but fuck! He's just so annoying. He blinked. "Mira? What does she have to do with--you know what, never mind. I could sue you right now. And your pretty boys." My heart sank. "Never mind? Huh...coming from the man who ruined our marriage because of some dumb secretary." He looked serious as he glared at me. "I don't know what you're talking about. If you're going to be petty with me over a secretary I fired three months ago, because she was making moves on me and I didn't like it! But fine, be mad at me. I saw the footage of you leaving with some man!" I didn't want to believe him, but why would he lie? "You...fired her three months ago? Mira isn't part of your staff?" Alec grunted irritatedly. "Where did you get this useless piece of information, these lies?" "And what's that nonsense you were saying about me leaving with a man? You're going to say you don't know my driver? The butler Gabriel sent a driver to come pick me up from that hell house! It was our fucking anniversary, Alec. And you hurt me!" I made my expression hardened. "You can walk. You should leave already." Alex jumped up to his feet, I was surprised at the pace at which he did. "Hold on--" "--if you touch me, I'm doing the punching this time." I said strictly. Instantly, his hands was raised up in the air as defense. "I--I didn't know." It didn't look like he hadn't known the man was my driver. "Okay. Okay. Let's just go back home. I'll have to tell my mom and sister to leave the house for you. You'd rest, relax. Huh?" I remembered all the sleepless nights I had with the way Alec treated me like a maid, he even showed love to his maids than he did to me! I couldn't go back to that hell house! "I don't love you anymore, Alec." I hoped those lies didn't seem too noticeable. His eyes flared, but I didn't care. Wait, did he still feel a thing for me--no! I didn't care any more. "You're joking, right? Look at you. You're still wearing the diamond earrings I gave you for our anniversary! You're nothing without me, Meghan. Over time, you'd only end up missing me like crazy. Why put yourself through that torment?" I reaslied be was slowly patting himself on his thigh like he did when he was nervous. Why was he nervous now? Did he mean what he's saying? I swallowed. I did love Alec, I loved him so much! I wanted to just get close to him now and fall into his arms so he would lift me up, take away all this little suffering that had happened. In marriages, fights were expected, weren't they? It didn't mean things had to end!... "I'm sorry I called you a thief. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you on our anniversary but remember the night we spent together that time...I can't really remember because--" "Of course you can't. Because you were drunk!" The anger had returned again. My face did fluster but it was because of someone else. Jade and I had spent one hot night together when I was still so heavy in pain after Alec and I separation. I cheated on him. That was more than enough reason not to get back together with him! "Wait, I need you to calmly make a decision here. Don't be in a haste!" He pleaded. The proud Alec Anderson is begging! "Please, come back to me."Meghan's POV "Meghan wait up right now!" Alec's tone was deafening, threatening maybe. How was it that I still found myself falling for this man? Wasn't it clear already that he didn't love me? Or at the very least, he was confused. "You're raising your voice like an uncivilized human. Everyone's looking." I made my tone stern. He paused, then smiled to himself. "This is funny, you know? I want to reset everything right now. From the time you packed your things to leave, when you started to dare me." "Okay, go on," I rolled my eyes. "I'm giving you till tonight to move back. Otherwise, you've made an enemy with the Andersons." He threatened. "You're so stupid you dunno what's about to hit you. But I can save you," Anger filled me now as I continued to listen to his trash. I made it a mental note right that instant not to depend on any man again. I would ace my training and accept support from Adrian, but won't depend on him. Or anyone else again. "Go to hell, Alec." I w
Alec's POV. I was late. No matter how hard I tried, I was always late. The class had started minutes ago, but luckily for me, it was just a casual introduction going on. Silence filled the room as I stepped inside, all eyes fell on me. There was a tall man who was in front, addressing everyone. "Oh at last, you've managed to join us, my name is Philip Banks. What about you?" "Alec. Alec Anderson." I said, while searching around for a seat to take. Everyone were seated in twos, so there was barely a seat that hadn't been filled up already. Then...she raised her hand up and smiled. "This seat is free, come sit here." I couldn't believe my eyes. Meghan? "Welcome Mr Alec, present CEO of Dexton Enterprise. You'd have to come up with the explanation of how you came up with that name. I heard the theory was interesting." Said Philip. I guess I was angry that she even kept a seat for me. After our last conversation, she clearly made me feel so low about myself! Now she was
Meghan's POV I stepped into the building, my heart racing a little. This training would make me end up in an unnecessary reunion with an old college arrogant brat, Paulina Shay, who was now a proud successful CEO of a small firm, it was doing so well she gained fame while she made advertisement.Paulina always looked down on me, and had a gift with making everyone hated me even without knowing me yet. I was saved in my final years because she suddenly got transferred to another school, only lord knew what happened.Besides people like Paulina, there would be other bullies too, I just knew that. I was accompanied by Martins, Jade's driver and sometimes his PA. "It's this way miss." He said, when I started heading the wrong way."Of course. Thanks." I swallowed, admiring how marvelous the building truly was. It was an opportunity just being part of this training. "Before we gather all trainees, Mr Jade would like to see you privately." I nodded and followed him to Jade's office. He
Alec's POV I tried to be good, but I clearly wasn't. Our last conversation had been torturing enough, and now I see her in my dreams too? She was making the bed and smiling as she sighted me. "Remember our first night together? It was magnificent!" She said, then wiggled her index finger for me to come closer. As I get closer, a loud wreck fell and stood in between us. A wreck, like a wall, falling inside the room?! Wasn't that a sad depiction of our current relationship? She had sent a reminder email of when we would be going to the court to finalize our divorce. I didn't like losing...but worse, I didn't like living alone. Now, my mom and Bella never visit. It was always just the maids and I, in the big apartment. Everything reminds me that she's no longer with me. I didn't think it would hurt this much! I heaved in, arranging the clusters of papers that rested on my table. My secretary came in, "Um sir, you have a call from Mr Anderson." I rolled my eyes. He had my
Jade's family were a mess! Much worse than Lolita and Bella could ever be. And at least, Alec dad was nicer. Jade's family were wide, but they all were the same. Right from his abuela down to his cousins. They were brats, a proud household wealthy and rich that they could never ever grow broke. Even their youngest one around four months old was already a billionaire! "Jade is risking so much just by being your friend. Imagine what would happen if they found out you were dating? Whatever is going on between you two, terminate it as quickly as possible. Adrian is kind and soft, and has always loved you no matter how he denied it." After he left, leaving me alone as I headed to the rest room, I clearly believed what grandpa had been talking about. Life was so unfair. Jade was so calm and good but was born into such family. Alec too, was mostly influenced by his mother and sister, believed whatever they said over me. I was heading back to the party because it was hosted outside his m
Meghan's POV "He wants to get married soon, let's hope you're the one he settles down with." He added. Jade winced. I made a mental note to meet him and ask why he acted grumpy whenever Adrian was being mentioned! At the party, Adrian walked over to us as he heard of our arrival. He wore a fine suit and maintained a nice smile. "You made it, Mr Price." He then turned to me and reached for my hand, kissing it gently, "Meghan," our eyes lingered for a moment before he let go of my hand. "And you, Mr. Jade. I see you made it too." Jade smiled, although it didn't reach his eyes. "I accompanied Meghan. We go to most places together." "That's a little creepy, considering that she's a full grown adult who can take care of herself. Then again, maybe it's nice to see you playing the big brother role." Adrian said, smiling as Jade gritted his teeth. I stepped forward to intercept, "please let's all find somewhere to sit. I'm starving." I said, and it worked. "Of course, right t
