Meghan's POV
My heart seized in my chest as I saw him through the CCTV. Jade and I were in the control room trying to fix an issue and had hired a technician who was busy in the room, when the CCTV caught Alec downstairs. Jade sent a signal to me with his calm look, but I couldn't help myself. "It's not worth it--" Before he could finish what he had to say, I cut him off and stormed off into my office. The desk phone rang as soon my feet stepped into the office, and Mary's voice boomed on the other end as I answered it. I didn't wait before I ordered. "Don't let him in. If you do, you're fired Mary." My voice was calm yet threatening. Mary definitely loved her job and wouldn't do otherwise. "Y-yes sir...I mean, ma." She faltered. I was about to hang up when his voice raged out, shouting like a mad man. "Hey Meghan! So you've seen me coming in the CCTV huh? Come down here right now! You thief!" Jade sighed."Ignore him, Meghan." "Ignore him!?" I flared up. At this point, I'd already hung up because his noise did not stop and I could hear Mary pleading with him not to cause a scene. "He's a lunatic!" I continued."He's going to send everyone away with his madness. I have to send him away, even if I'll have to use the security guards." "Okay." I like how he always seem calm and doesn't like arguing with me. "Let's go together then." I heaved in,"fine." Then began to make my way down. Seeing him made my heart to skip a bit. I was angry, I was supposed to be. But for a split second--and if felt like eternity...I didn't want to stop the day dreaming--I was lost in his fine physique. Alec was tall, very handsome and well built. But there was something else about him that made me instantly crave for his touch. I shook my head and was suddenly glad Jade was with me. But what surprised me again was how Alec glared at me, like his eyes was all over me he couldn't help himself! Seeing Jade, I observed his brows arch up in confusion and anger, but he couldn't even say anything yet because the presence of someone else shocked him. "Meghan dear," Adrian said. Even I was shocked because I hadn't really been expecting him too. "I've made reservations already. We don't want to be late." I was about to ask him about what reservations when Alec jumped up to speak. "What? Reservations? What reservations?" Adrian looked Alec up and down, then back at me. "Hello, is this friend of yours joining us too?" Adrian asked, eying me from head to toe. "What, no no. He's my ex husband. The one I told you about." I said. "Our divorce isn't even finalized! What is wrong with you Meghan!" Alec snapped. "You're making noise. This is a cooperate place. Manage your behavior." Jade said. He had been calm that Alec's behavior just irked him now. "Yes." Adrian turned, facing Alec and said in a strict tone. "He's right. Watch your tone with Meghan." I hadn't asked for two bodyguards but there was no denting that I hadn't needed them. "You should just leave now, Alec." I said, hoping this would just die down. However, the universe had other plans. "I came here for a reason anyway. That diamond ear ring, you stole it. Take it off right now." I couldn't believe my eyes. Embarrassment made my cheeks to fluster because I was actually wearing that necklace. "Um..." I froze, no. I needed to be confident. "What nonsense are you talking about, Alec?"His eyes lit up, but in anger. "You're wearing it right now. That diamond earring, give it back. You stole it!" "Stole it? Your wedding anniversary gift, you dare accuse her of stealing it?" Jade stepped forward. "Y--yes." Alec flinched. He must have realized how stupid he sounded. "It's mine. I'd rather throw it away, or sell it even! It costed almost a million dollars for just a stupid silly pair of ear rings. You don't deserve that at all." This made me laugh, Jade and Alec along with Adrian staring at me wondering what was funny. "You buy cufflinks of ten million, and you claim these pair of earrings are too expensive for me? For our anniversary gift?" "What did you get me, huh? You're so poor I'm always the one taking care of you, your grandpa!" Alec said. I felt disheartened. When will he change...could he ever change with the way he treated me like I was just below trash! "Take them off," instantly, Adrian commanded. "That's true." Jade sided. "Whatever he gives

Alec's POV "Sir, we have a major problem." Announced my secretary, Lily. My brows creased as she spoke of a new change of plan for our opening date of our new hotel branch. "It's supposed to happen this Friday." Lily explained. "But the hotel has been booked by one A&D firm. Deep down, I was tired. It was becoming tiring but my pride was too strong to admit things to Meghan. Truthfully, that hadn't been a strange man. I'd seen his picture later as one of the close drivers to the Price family. I had been a fool and watch Meghan leave just like that! But all that was about to change now. "...we should do is why I'm here sir..." She was still saying but I didn't hear the rest. "Hey it's fine Lily. We can postpone the event." I cut her off. "Sir?" "You heard me." My expression was stern as it it can be. "Just leave me for the next thirty minutes. Alone." Gladly, she nodded and left. I heaved in a deep sigh. This was worse than facing my father. Even worse than wh
Meghan POVIt was two weeks now since I'd left Alec, and it's been too hard! I knew I would be fine at last. Still...it was hard."On the plus side," Jade said, "you've not seen the hideous faces of those evil witches in a while now." Jade Fernandez was my best friend in the whole world, a sweet handsome Italian business man became my friend over four years now, just after I graduated from college. He was such a darling, protecting me and caring for me. Everyone always thought we would end up together. But we were just friends. He never showed why signs he might like me in that manner at all. A slight smile formed on my face. "You're right." We sat for hours, just ranting about life in general. My grandpa walked in, that old man never knocked on my door! "There's someone I'd love you to meet, my dear." He announced.Jade jumped up. "Grandpa. I asked about you but you weren't around earlier and--""--that's enough. I don't want to hear." He replied dryly. Jade was only smiling by n
Alec's POVI didn't know why I chose to go out instead of spending time with my wife. But Meg had to learn her lessons. I loved my mother and sister, but how could she let them come in our house like that and look down on her? For how long will she continue to be weak like this? She is my damn wife and she needed to be stronger than this! The party was boring already, or I was just eager to head home."Leaving already?" Bruce, one of my colleagues and friends at work asked.I nodded, "this party sucks. Besides, I've met with the chairman of Brooks Store, and I'm pretty sure he's fallen in love with me already." "Ha, nice one. So you came here to strike the deal, not to celebrate with us?" Thomas, another of my friend teased."You know me, bro. It's always business over pleasure." I said to him."You know, Mira says hi. She always asks of you." Bruce said with a serious tone."Well good for her. She can't resume, when I fired her 3 months ago, it was for a good cause." I replied."I s
Meghan's POV I went back inside, and on my way I was stopped by Lolita and Bella. "What part about you missed a spot don't you understand? Who's going to clean all of this?" Lolita said. "Maybe she is expecting us to do it, mom." Anger swelled inside of me all of a sudden. "This is my husband's house and I can clean it whenever I want to. I wish you both can leave already." Their eyes widened as I said that. No one believed I could dare speak back, even I didn't believe that. "What was that? You're growing some balls, aren't you?" Lolita snapped. "This is why I want you out of here soon. So you've been pretending like you're a good girl all along, huh?" Bella questioned. "I have done everything you always ask. Even I answer to you Bella, like you're my big sis and not actually four years younger than me." I said back, receiving shocking glances from them. "See Mira isn't like this. What a sweet girl." Lolita said, getting a suspicious glance from her daughter. Right there, I
Meghan's POV"This is why you'll never be loved by my son," this wasn't Lolita's first time saying this. And every time it hurt me to my chest when I hear her, well because it's mostly true. There is nothing I wouldn't do for Alec, my husband I've been married to for over three years now. "What did she do now, mom?" Red hair girl, Bella, advanced forward. Bella was the annoying little sister of Alec who hated and despised me, just like everyone else in the family too. "She missed a spot here. Can you imagine? I told her to clean here but she skipped right over there." Lolita said, patting herself on the shoulders. Lolita was slender and beautiful like her daughter, but her black hair was real, compared to her daughter's artificial. "How can you miss a spot? Oh you are such a dummy. I can't believe my brother is married to you." Bella rolled her eyes and looked at me like I was trash. "Yea, even I'm surprised you're my wife." Alec stepped in, tall And handsome he was. If only he w
