Chapter 24 - Cooing to a Baby

Consumed by her thoughts, Kirsten didn’t hear Matthew. The man patiently waited for her to answer but the answer was long in coming. And it made him realize that the woman beside him wasn’t paying attention to him because she was preoccupied and it bothered him.

He tapped her shoulder gently. Kirsten was snapped out from her pondering and turned her head to look at Matthew.

“What’s bothering you?” Matthew repeated his question.

“Nothing,” she shook her head and rested her head on his shoulder. She blinked so she wouldn’t cry. She would just enjoy her time with him while they were together.

Every minute with him was important and she would use it to create memories with him. At least when the time comes that they have to part ways, she had a lot of good memories that would keep her heart warm.

“I’m here, tell me what’s troubling you.” Matthew pulled her to his embrace and stroked her back.
