I was looking at myself in the mirror, trying to convince myself that I looked good. I was wearing a black strapless dress, a grey cardigan and some Wedge-heeled shoes. I was getting ready for my date with Toby but I was so nervous. I don’t know why, I mean, this wasn’t our first date or anything but it was the first date we had had in a very long time. 

 My parents knew we were going out together tonight, of course. It made things slightly easier, not having to lie. It wasn’t like I flaunted it, especially not in front of dad, but mum had asked me pretty much every day leading up to now what I was planning on wearing tonight.
