Cayne sat on the chair beside Jilly’s bed. She still laid on the bed with eyes closed and machines attached to her body. It had been a year and a half, their baby would be ten months old.
“When will you wake up, Jilly?” Cayne held her hand as he asked her, begged her to wake up every other day. Her doctor said that her brain cells started to functioning slowly and it does make a change in her. The doctor said it was because of the people around her who always accompanied her and never gave up on her through this condition.
“Didn’t you say to see me soon? I’m still waiting for that day to come. You’ve sacrificed so much, I can’t lose you now. You will need to see our baby no matter what, Jilly.” Cayne kept on talking to her and it was a way to communicate with her.
Cayne excused himself to her to left the hospital because he had to come to his job. But he didn’t
Cayne was in her room while holding their daughter in his arms. She was secured in his father's embraced. It almost hit two years and Cayne never once tired of coming to the hospital. He wouldn’t miss a day to come unless he had worked out of the city or country. As of today, their daughter could crawl. Cayne let her play in her mother’s room and sometimes Cayne would let her slept next to Jilly. She looked so much like him but her smile, and every time she smiled, Cayne felt sad because he could see that in the mother. How he missed that. “Do you want to sit next to Mama?” Cayne asked her daughter as he made her faced Jilly. “Ma—ma,” she spoke with her hand in her mouth and then nodded. So, Cayne carefully sat her next to Jilly. He made sure not to let their daughter touch or sit on any wire attached to her. “Do you miss Mama, baby?” He asked again to their daughter who was now busy touching
After the phone call was done with Marcus, Cayne called Kook right away. It was a bit hard to got a hold of him since he might be doing business in the evening like this. So, Cayne took another route and called his wife instead. The difference between the two, she picked up within the third ring.“Yes, Cayne?” She asked as soon as she picked up his call.“Tell Kook to come to the hospital right now,-“ Cayne was not done talking, he was just taking a break but he got cut off.“He’s in a meeting because there’s a client right now,” Katherine replied.“Well, whenever it is you are going to tell him. Jilly has woken up.” Cayne ended the call just before he heard a loud shriek from the other side.&ldq
“I wonder why she kicked you out.” Katherine couldn’t help but tease him about it. She was more than happy to see his starstruck face when Jilly told him to go out as well. Now, they were waiting outside of the room.“Shut up.” He grunted out, he felt desperate now he was outside. He wanted to know what they were talking about inside the room. He was also worried if they kept their promise. Not long after that, her doctor came along with another doctor which he believed was a neurologist. He hoped everything was okay with her, so he could announce the news of their baby. As soon as the thought of their baby came, Cayne stood up and walked to the room next door. He hadn’t visited their baby today because he was too occupied with Jilly.“My baby.” He missed her so much. He walked to her crib and picked her up, he held her in his arms securely. She giggled and it brought so mu
It had been a week since he asked that question and was left unanswered. Jilly was still in the hospital and she would be for another week before she could go home. The doctor needed to make sure her condition was stabilized before releasing her from the hospital. In the meantime, the doctor recommending a therapist for her to start the treatment for her muscles and it would start this week. She could save everyone the energy if she could improve throughout the treatment in the hospital.“Where have you been?” Jilly asked her incoming guest.“I went back home for a while and visit our daughter. She’s asleep now.” Cayne replied as he walked closer towards the bed. He sat on the edge and caressed the side of her face lovingly. He had a huge hope of Jilly to see their daughter soon, that was all he wanted.“That’s good.” She nodded weakly. She knew what he wanted and she only
“I’ll do it.” Cayne voluntarily came forward to carry her before Antonio could do it, but it was too late for her.“Did I asked you?” Jilly asked him and made him stopped on his spot, he stood like a statue at the sudden command. He looked up at her with warry eyes.“He must be uncomfortable to carry you, I’ll do it.” Cayne persistently tried to find a reason for her not to be carried by another man. It was not that he forbid her, he just doesn’t want to make Antonio felt uncomfortable.“Just say you’re jealous. It has been what? Years since you last hold her?” Marco butted in and got a glare from Cayne in an instant but Marco was indifferent.“Jealous?” Jilly pulled a devilish smirked. “Let me do the therapy alone, you stay here with her. Got it, Isaiah?” It had been so long since she saw Cayne being jeal
Antonio sat on the single couch in a familiar house office. He looked relaxed and comfortable sitting on the couch while sipping on some expensive wine in someone else’s house. He was waiting for the owner of the house to be back. Sipping some of the wine, he put his elbow down on the armrest of the couch.“Don’t make yourself too comfortable, bastardo.” He commented while walking into the room.“Well, I feel like home. Mama said to do so.” Antonio shrugged and put down his wine glass on the table in front of him.“Who the hell is mama?” His voice was not friendly at all.“Mama Mariah, of course the one and only.” His mischievous smirk was on, he loved teasing him.“Don’t call my mother, Mama. You have no right.” He almost cursed at Antonio for being such a dick to him.&ld
“Cayne,” Jilly called for him. He was in the room next door to visit their daughter and Jilly stubbornly still refused to see Grace. “Cayne!”She waited for him for a couple of minutes to show up. While waiting, she cut herself some apples and pears into a plate. When she finished, the door opened and Cayne walked in.“What’s wrong?” He asked in concern as he approached her bed. “Do you need anything?”“Is she asleep?” Her eyes drifted to the side.“Yes, she is asleep now,” Cayne replied. He still couldn’t understand the reason Jilly doesn’t want to see their daughter. But he needed to be patient, that was the key here.“Good,” Jilly replied. She offered him the plate full of fruit she just cut. She was not going to eat them, so she gave them to him.Cayne to
“You wouldn’t think I get banned from coming to Italy?” Cayne asked in worry because they were going to fly today. They didn’t prepare anything else but themselves. Up until now, Jilly had not seen their baby and they were going to be on the same plane. Just the day before, Jilly decided to stop having midwives. “If you do, do you think it was the DEA’s doing? No, it will be Marcus’ and he won’t do that.” Jilly replied and gave him a look of being stupid. She had been preparing for the flight ahead. She was thinking about her daughter and it got her nervous just thinking about being in the same room. There would be a possibility that Jilly would ask Grace to be put in the bedroom of the jet while she and Cayne would be in the sitting area. She didn’t know why, she was just not ready to face her yet. “You know he hates my gut, right?” He tried to jog the memory of how the last time they had encountered in Italy. “Of course, how could I forget.” Jilly shrugged
