Chapter 28: Awake

Cayne was in her room while holding their daughter in his arms. She was secured in his father's embraced. It almost hit two years and Cayne never once tired of coming to the hospital. He wouldn’t miss a day to come unless he had worked out of the city or country.

As of today, their daughter could crawl. Cayne let her play in her mother’s room and sometimes Cayne would let her slept next to Jilly. She looked so much like him but her smile, and every time she smiled, Cayne felt sad because he could see that in the mother. How he missed that.

“Do you want to sit next to Mama?” Cayne asked her daughter as he made her faced Jilly.

“Ma—ma,” she spoke with her hand in her mouth and then nodded. So, Cayne carefully sat her next to Jilly. He made sure not to let their daughter touch or sit on any wire attached to her.
