“There’s only one woman in my heart and that’s you, Amy. I have only loved you because you’re irreplaceable in my life.”
Dominic’s confession crushed the last flicker of hope inside me. I felt a part of me dying, the part he saved and revived two years ago.
“Oh, Dominic, I don’t doubt your love. We’re fated mates and Artemis wanted us to reunite but we can’t ignore the fact that she’s still your Luna and one day she’ll also bear your heirs. You’re married to her by law and I don’t wish to be a homewrecker for my own sister.” Amelia spoke innocently.
My hands were trembling as I heard each word they spoke to each other.
“Amelia, listen to me carefully. Yes, I married Cassandra but there were some reasons but it doesn’t change the love I have for you, we share an unbreakable bond created between us by our Goddess. In fact, I have never touched Amelia in two years of our marriage.” He replied to her insecurities.
“Dom, she’s your wife and the pack is waiting for its next heir. I am still weak and only God knows if I would ever be able to bear a child.” Amelia sobbed.
“Listen, Amy. I have never touched her even in your absence which means no other woman but you will bear my heirs if I was going to have a child. Do you hear me?” He cupped her face and wiped her tears.
There was no hesitation in his tone.
My heart sank. The way he boldly admitted that he never touched me it meant whether he totally forgot about the night or he regretted it.
Now how would I tell him about his baby? What if he’d refuse to accept our pup?
in panic, I felt dizzy and in the process of trying to hold the door for support, the door made a creaking sound which caught their attention
I composed myself because I didn’t want them to know that I heard their conversation.
“Come in, Amelia.” Dominic’s eyes moved on me. His tone changed immediately from gentlest to formal.
I entered the room which was once forbidden for me. It was meant for his mate
I put the cup on the bedside table and tried my best not to look at them because my feelings were all over my face.
Amelia was my sister and I should be happy that she was alive.
Then why did it hurt to see them together?
“Dom, I want to spend some time with my younger sister. Can I have a moment with her please?” She made a puppy face to him.
“Yes, of course but don’t stress yourself too much. You need rest to recover faster.” He said and stood up.
Once the door was closed, heavy silence prevailed in the room.
“So, are you happy now? Are you enjoying being the temporary Luna, a replacement until I come back?”
Her tone was icy sharp and the swollen eyes which shed tears while ago, now shooting daggers at me.
I was totally clueless.
“Amelia what do you mean?” I frowned. I was confused by her question.
“Cassie, isn’t it what you wanted? When I was gone, you married my mate. When I heard the news of your marriage I thought it was a joke. How could Dominic marry a wolfless loser like you?” She leaned back on the pillow and her words felt like sharp thorns.
My jaws hung low. I blinked my eyes in disbelief. Amelia was saying mean words to me. She had never used such tone or words with me before.
“Amelia, what are you saying?” I was unable to believe.
“I am simply telling you to pack your bags and leave this pack. Soon, Dominic will reject you and mark his true Luna. I gave you little time to play a Luna but the fun time is over now.” She mocked me scornfully.
She wasn’t the sister I used to know.
The caring and innocent sister was gone. She had a scorned look on her face and it didn’t take me much time to realize that she wanted me gone so badly.
“Amelia, how can you mock me like this? We’re sisters. We have grown together. Remember you saved me sacrificing your own life. How could you taunt me for not having a wolf? I had a wolf but they killed her as a form of punishment.” I cried.
My heart was bleeding. I tried to act strong but in the end, those icy words from her and Dominic broke me.
“Sisters? Oh come on, Cassie. Grow up. How could you be a fool at this age? No wonder why your pack disgusts you. I was never fond of you. In fact, I have never hated someone as much as I hated you.” She got off the bed and stood on her feet.
She didn’t look weak or injured.
“It was your fault that you took my pity as love and followed me like a puppy. ” She spatted venom.
I felt like someone had poured icy cold water on me.
The cruel betrayal stung me.
“I think now you have understood that I only despised you, Cassandra. You were my toy and you allowed me to play with you.” She smirked.
Through my teary vision, I carefully scanned her and I didn’t see any sign of injury or physical torture on her flawless body. I was weak but I wasn’t a fool.
“Amelia, tell me the truth. Were you even kidnapped by those rogues?”
There was a moment of silence between us. She stared at me with an unreadable expression.
“No, I wasn’t kidnapped. In fact, I ran away with the rogue king, he was rich, young and handsome, unlike the powerless Dominic. That day I went there with you because our father would never let me to go there alone and it was the only route from where I could leave.” She admitted it boldly.
My eyes widened but she continued before I could process her words.
“I was forced to get engaged with Dominic who was my fated mate and our father would never allow me to marry a rogue. I used my foolish sister to escape and guess what? I became a legend, everyone mourned for me and kept punishing you.” She chuckled coldly.
“Amelia, you are insane. I hate that I loved you and thought you were the best sibling, the only person who loved me.” I cried.
I felt like a fool for letting her to use me.
“Now you know the real me so fuck off.” She spatted with a roll of her eyes.
“Why are you back when your life was so good with your lover?” I sneered at her angrily.
“Clearly Dominic developed his power now. He raptured the rogues and my luxurious life was gone. So, I had to make up this story to win my Dominic back who loves me more than anything in this world. Here I am, treated like a porcelain doll.” She played with her hair lock.
I stood there speechless and stunned to hear her confession. All these times, I cried for her. I really missed her and even blamed myself for not saving her.
Rage filled me. She was playing with Dominic’s emotions. He had searched her tirelessly, locked his heart and only loved her devotionally.
“So, the rogue attack was all your plan? You knew our parents will blame me of your disappearance and exactly the same happened. I paid the price by losing my wolf just because you didn’t want to marry Dominic?” I was fuming in anger.
“It seems you’re not that stupid at all but you realized it very late. Dominic still loves me the same and he’d do anything for my happiness. So, I never lost in any situation but you’re the loser, Cassie.” She laughed throwing her head back.
I wanted to slap her hard across the face but I refrained myself.
“I will tell Dominic about you. He should see your true colours.” I warned her about leaving the room but she looked unbothered.
“Go ahead and tell him. I want to see whom he’ll believe.” She laughed and next she did something that caused my eyes to pop out in disbelief.
“Ahh! Cassie, please, don’t hurt me.”
She spilled the hot medicinal liquid on the floor and cried and started breathing heavily. I was clueless to react because she actually played another trick.
She coiled on the floor, wailing loudly. My heart was in my throat.
In the next few seconds, the doors flung open and Dominic rushed to her side.
“What happened, Amy?” He asked with fear written all over face.
“Cassie…Cassie…ahh…hurt me when I was only trying to talk nicely to her. She accused me of wanting to snatch her Luna title. She said she doesn’t want to see me here and I should go back to my parents’ house. She accused me that I want to destroy her marriage.”
My eyes bulged out of their sockets. She played like a brilliant actress but when I met Dominic, cold eyes, I gulped hard. He was furiously looking at me.
“Cassandra, what is this? Have you lost your mind?” He roared at me and I flinched in fear.
“Dominic, I didn’t do anything and it’s all bullshit. I didn’t say such rubbish things.” I said in my defence.
“ Oh, Dom, it hurts so much.” She cried pressing her wrist and his attention was back to her.
He crouched down to check her but she hugged him.
“Dominic, she is lying! I didn’t hurt her. She spilled-”
“Enough!
His alpha tone roared and silenced me. His eyes were dead cold as he picked her in his arms.
“How could you do this to a weak person, Cassandra?” He shook his head throwing another angry look at me.
“Dominic, I didn’t hurt her. I swear.” I whispered, my throat choked.
“Cassandra, I expected better from you.” He muttered in disappointment and led her out of the room.
I ran after him because Amelia framed me of something I had never done.
“Dominic, I swear I hadn’t hurt her. She is lying. She never-” My words died in my throat when she pushed my shoulder and I lost my balance.
As a result, I stumbled and my stomach hit the table’s corner near the door.
A sharp pain shot through my lower abdomen, My feet felt weak and rolled on the floor.
Clutching my stomach, a futile attempt to save my baby, I cried for him.
“Domi…Dominic…I am pregnant..please..save..our baby.” I finally blurted out but he didn’t turn back and rushed to tend to his love.
She looked back and smirked.
My vision became blurry as the pain in my stomach became numb.
My baby.
[ Dominic ]“Alpha, the security is intact. I am personally supervising all the units. No one will leave the pack until the next morning after the party and after six in the evening tomorrow, no will enter the pack.” Dustin said.“Good, I think our plan is also in motion. Lucian will be trapped. No matter what he has in his mind.” I nodded my head in satisfaction.“Your suit is ready and it will be delivered by four in the evening, Alpha.” He said and after a nervous pause, he added, “And also the gown you have commissioned for Dr. Miller.”“Thank you, Dustin. I don’t have to worry much because you know your duties well.” I felt quite light-hearted after the breakfast incident at my parents’ residence two days ago.“Alpha, may I ask why you ordered a dress for Dr. Miller? She doesn’t seem to like you very much and Ms. Croft, she won’t be much pleased if she learns that you gifted a dress for Dr. Miller.”I smiled at his query.“The annual Lunar festival isn’t some random party, Dustin
[ Cassandra ]“I don’t talk much because there’s no one who can truly understand this old woman. Only Cassandra had that kindness in her. I wish she comes back. I can’t see my grandson living a robotic life for the sake of his pack.” She continued.According to her, Dominic still misses me?It sounded foreign but she said it with certainty.“I hope she’s fine wherever she’s living.” I looked down at my folded hands.“Dr. Miller, can you please stay until the full moon? I insist because I have grown to like you as a friend who can listen to me.” She requested.I couldn’t dare to look into her eyes because I had no courage to say no to her.“Okay, I’ll stay for your birthday, Madam.” I forced a smile because it seemed the meeting had no meaning. She didn’t spill anything.“Maybe something good happen in these last days and you won’t be disappointed anymore.” She smiled widely.“I can be optimistic. Please, allow me to go now. I have to fresh up and go to the hospital. The medicine I hav
[ Cassandra ]Roseline Woodford stared at me for a several seconds before she parted her lips to speak.“It’s terrible to hear how a small child is suffering from this kind of pain. How is he doing?” She asked me, her tone held worry for the boy she never met.I fidgeted with my fingers. It was hard to talk about Cassius’ health. His pale, sick face flashed in my mind and it took me every ounce of self-control to hold back my tears.“I have been studying hard, went to many places and did countless trials to find a cure but the decease has no roots to discovered and verified decease in human world.” I told her the truth. If she knew about a cure then I have to crack her first. It was the only way to unlock the secret that she had been carrying for years.“So, you accepted my grandson’s request to treat Amelia because their symptoms are the same and you thought perhaps your answers lie in here?” She asked.I nodded my head affirmatively.“My son has been in immeasurable pain. I can trea
[ Dominic ]I slammed my fists on the wall as soon as the door closed behind Dr. Miller. Her outburst and her resolution to leave my pack had left me speechless. She was adamant to leave the pack and it became very challenging for me to keep her close.I didn’t hate her as she thought but I was more curious now. Her outburst felt more defending. She was nervous. I could see clouds of panic in those hazel brown eyes. There was definitely a connection between her and Cassandra. The way she reacted fiercely, it solidified my doubts. She was protecting Cassius, the boy who always made me want to collect him in my arms. I felt his pain whenever I was close to him.I had only a few days to discover the truth. I strongly feel like she’s my wife. This kind of spark that I had been feeling around a human, her striking resemblance with Cassandra. It made sense to me.“Alpha, please, calm down.” Dustin barged inside when he heard the smashing sound.I broke the window glass to unleash my anger a
[ Cassandra ]“He isn’t yours, Alpha. How many times do I have to repeat this? Please, stop making our lives complicated.” I somehow gathered my wanning patience with him.His eyes were making it hard for me to stand on my grounds. There was firmness and the determination made me realize that the day isn’t far when he’d find out the truth.“Okay, then prove it to me. My wolf and I aren’t wrong every time he’s near me. Even Cassius feel the connection. Tell me, what should I call it?”“I don’t care what you think or assume, Alpha. My son has been without a father figure ever since he was born. Maybe he’s trying to find one in you. Please, spare him because a false hope will break his innocent heart.”Tears brimmed in my eyes. When I found out about my pregnancy, I never thought one day I had to lie to my baby’s father boldly. I had to do it with perfection but Dominic didn’t deserve to be his father. He stepped closer.“Then tell me who’s his father. I won’t go after him but if you wan
[ Cassandra ]“What do you want to say, Alpha?”I broke the excruciating silence that prevailed inside the room. I could see his intense stare on me which made it even more hard for me to act normally.“You met Lucian in the evening.”So, it was about Lucian again. How did it not cross my mind before?“Yes, I met him today. It wasn’t a secret place.” I told him.“May I know the reason why you met the pack’s enemy? I told you to stay away from him, didn’t I, Doctor?” His tone reflected his anger but I was least bothered. The man had lost every right to feel this way.“I don’t think I have to report you about my day to day life events, Alpha. I am not conspiring against you. That’s all you need to know.” I kept my answer firm.He snorted and ran his fingers thorough his hairs. He always did it whenever he feels angry.“I know you aren’t but I don’t trust Lucian. He isn’t a friend. Why can’t you understand this simple thing?” He raised his voice a little. It was the end of my patience wi
[ Dominic ]I felt an uneasy feeling settling in my chest. My wolf, Rex, was anxious, pacing and howling around in my mind.I snapped at Cassandra when she called me. She wanted to tell me something but I said harsh words to her in my anger. Amelia had been crying and I couldn’t see her state after

[ Cassandra ]Amelia was pretty, virtuous and more importantly the most powerful alpha’s fated mate. She was loved by all while I was a mere shadow.Dominic loved her unconditionally and so passionately that they were called the ideal couple, the one made for each other until the tragedy happened.
[ Cassandra ]“Luna, you’re two weeks pregnant!”My mind went numb, eyes unable to believe what my doctor showed me on the monitor screen. A small life was forming inside me.My baby.Mine and Dominic’s child, the heir to NightShade Pack.“Is..is it true?” I asked her again to confirm, my eyes were
