Chapter Seventeen

EMBERLY

Derrick had the music blaring even louder than I had had mine in my room. I thought my ears were about to burst. Meaning, he was pretty angry with me right now. He was beating the punching bag, and when he saw me walk in, he turned his back on me and went back to hitting the punching bag. I'm pretty sure he was imagining that the punching bag was my face. I walked over to the stereo and turned it down so I wouldn't have to yell over the music and walked over to Derrick. He did his best to ignore me until I got close enough that he could hit me and stopped.

"What do you want?" Derrick growled and then walked over to a set of weights and grabbed a set of twenty-pound weights.

"I think I might be pregnant,"

"You skipped a pill,"

"No, I've taken two sometimes after we've been together just to be safe. I never missed one; I wouldn't be that careless. Anyway, I started the placebo last Saturday, and I normally start within two days or so, but I haven't started. It's time to star
