ONE NIGHT STAND WITH MY MATE

RAVEN'S POV

I had longed for this night for the past two years .Two long trying years at the most remarkable Gifted Academy. An esteemed program designed for the most unique gift and talent.

Some of the talents here were compelling minds, manipulating elements and healing.

My gift was healing the wolf being. Any sickness,any ailment that disturbed the wolf form as long as i touched them,they would be healed.

My gift came at a cost to my own energy, but it had made me one of the most rarest talents and that's why i came to Gifted academy to harness it.

But tonight i was done, i had harnessed my skill and it was time to be fully used.

I stood at the corner of the hall with a glass of cocktail on my hand swirling it as I watched the grand hall decorated with white banners, and the proud scent of wolves who had survived the elite program. I watched as they laughed and danced with their family who had come all the way to celebrate them.

My parents were not here to celebrate with me which was odd because they have never missed any of my graduation,in fact it was always an opportunity for them to brag about their gifted daughter but this time around they said Rhea my twin sister was sick and they wouldn't be able to come. That was very strange Rhea has never been able to keep my parents from this sort of occasion before and this troubled me.

I was thinking of what could be wrong when I perceived it, that scent.Musk chocolate and caramel it smelt of everything nice ,spicy and warm.

My wolf stirred instantly and screamed inside me mate.

The trail of the scent has been there since morning ever since the guests started arriving and it would vanish but this time around it was stronger.My mate was here.

But who is he ,this was a hall full of hundreds of wolves, dignitaries, and visiting Alphas, how was I supposed to find him?.

Suddenly everywhere was quite and all attention was to the podium,one of the dignitaries was about to give a closing speech.

" Please welcome,Alpha Damien Wood ,the heir to the Woodcroft Park" The host introduced and the hall erupted in an applause.

I stared at him as he ascended the podium.

Damien Wood ,he was the heir to Woodcroft pack,that was where I was from. I haven't been home in two years and I haven't seen him in four years because he left for the Alpha institute to undergo training as the next Alpha before I came to the Gifted academy. He looked as handsome as ever.

This time around the scent became so overwhelming as I stared at him.

"is he my mate?" I muttered to myself "then why isn't he reacting to the scent"

My wolf was restless and tried to surge forward but I detained her. I watched him as he completed his speech calmly like he wasn't feeling anything. Maybe he wasn't the one but I was sure my mate was here somewhere.

Immediately the ceremony ended ,I slipped straight to the library to enjoy the last moment of peace within this walls. Most of the graduates had rushed off to town for an after party.

The academy library had always been my sanctuary. I trailed my fingers through the books , ancient books of wolf law, healing and mysteries all slept here. I have always been intrigued by it.

Then all of a sudden,the scent came back stronger this time and it felt closer.

The door of the library creaked open and I slowly turned to see who it was and he stood there staring at me intensely

Damien Wood,he was my mate.

" I have been searching for you" he said slowly as he took a step closer to me.

So he felt it too, I felt relieved

"Hey" I whispered.

He kept coming closer and closer till there was no more distance between us.

He wrapped his hands around my waist and pulled me to close to him,I could feel his breath on my face.The contact sent waves down my spine .

He buried his face on the nape of my neck and inhaled "oh my, your scent is so intoxicating" he murmured against my skin.

My fingers gripped his shirt as he pulled back just enough to look at me fully. He stared at me like a rare jewelry he didn't want to let go.

Then the mate bond pull became more stronger as his lips found mine.

The kiss was not gentle,it was intense and consuming . I melted into his touch with my hands finding a way to unbutton his shirt.

We stumbled backward between the shelves and books scattered on the floor, we ignored it as we continued to kiss more intensely.

We found ourselves lying down on the floor of the library as we took a break from kissing."You are my mate" he said almost in awe as he took a moment to trace his hands down my collarbone.

" Yes I am your mate" I whispered to his ears.

His lips came crashing into mine again as we both got rid of the remaining clothes on our body and when he finally entered me,I gasped in immensed pleasure, I never felt anything like this before.

I clung unto him as waves of pleasure and emotion rolled through my whole body. I was a healer,I heal wolves, that was my purpose but at this moment I felt like I have found another purpose in life.

We fell asleep tangled together on the library floor, wrapped in the harbour of the matebond.

The morning sunlight flashed through the tall windows of the library and woke me up.

The memories of last night came flooding into me and a smile curved my lips as I remembered his kiss, his voice and his touch.

I moved my hands trying to reach out for him but then my hands met a cold floor and my eyes suddenly opened with an urgency,empty, everywhere was empty with no sign of him.

I sat up quickly and gathered my scattered clothes and hurriedly dressed up. I walked around the library looking for him but everywhere was quiet.

"Damien?" I called out his name but no one responded.At that moment my heart began to race.

"Damien!" I called out louder this time and by now I could already hear the distant sound of students coming from the hallway.

Reality settled in on me like hot boiling water on my skin.He was gone, no note, no explanation,just gone like he was never here, he didn't even ask for my name.

My chest tightened painfully,did my mate just leave me?.

I hugged myself tightly trying to steady my breath and my spiraling thoughts because I was almost about to run mad .

He didn't ask for my name, he didn't ask for my number and it was obvious he didn't recognize me , he didn't even say anything about us seeing again.

Did he just have a one night stand with me and disappeared.

Well he must be the biggest joker of the century, I thought to myself as I steadied myself and stepped out of the library heading to my room to pack my things.

If Damien Wood believes that he would just disappear after having a one night stand with me,his fated mate ,then he has no idea what was coming for him because unlike him ,I knew exactly who he was and I was going to him to get answers.
