"Interpretative literature is written to provide understanding and pleasure.  It is a fiction that is designed to take the reader deeper into the real world and provoke thought, broadening our awareness of life." A perfect introduction for discussion. "Take down the characteristics."

As Sir Tejada ordered, we opened our lecture notebooks, clicked our pens, and readied ourselves in writing.

"First, the character is complex, multi-dimentional that are not always sympathetic. Second, the plot may focus on internal conflict that is more emotional and psychological. Third, the outcome or ending may be tragic or indeterminate, and fourth, the themes are broader, and may challenge our view of the world or suggest deeper insights; leaves us thinking."
