Oops! Still Your Mate Chapter Five.
A head poked out of the room, looking down the hallway, making sure no one was in sight. Alone in her room, Zeke's voice haunted her, almost driving her crazy. “I would ruin you” Like it was so hard to do. She ran a finger over her hair before stepping out cautiously. She wasn't ready to face Tessa now. She took a step forward, letting out a deep sigh. The day was going better than she had imagined. “Ivy!” The name sliced across the hallway. She froze, body tensing, eyes shot wide. She had concluded a tad too early. “Ivy!” This time it came out breathless between pants. She turned on her heels taking in Tessa bent on one knee, hair hiding her face. “What's wrong? You're breathless this early?” Ivy took a step forward. “I was hurrying over to catch you before you leave again” A mischievous grin appeared on Tessa's face. “Again?” Ivy's face contorted into a frown. Eyes narrowing into slits. But Tessa didn't give her the time to think about it as she pulled her back into her roo

“Fuck Zeke” Ivy's strained voice cut through the air, sweat trickling down her temples as she scrubbed at the pile of shirts stacked beside the wooden basin. Her arms burned, her palms were raw, and the water - already murky from soap and dirt - sloshed against her wrists like it mocked her. The scent of sweat, iron and Zeke's musky cologne clung to the fabric. Ivy let out a deep breath - and then froze. The sounds of steady, deliberate footsteps echoed down the hallway. Those footsteps could not be mistaken. That rhythm. They were Zeke's. Her pulse jumped. She turned abruptly towards the door and there he was. Leaning against the doorway, hands tucked into his pockets, that unreadable expression on his face. His eyes, though calm seemed to pierce straight through her. “Hey, missed me already” She cleaned her hands against the brown apron and walked over to him, a smile on her face. “Doing checks” He replied curtly and she smiled. “Liar” “Had to make sure you're not burning the greenhouse down” He said. “Rest assured, Alpha. I would try my best not to do that” Ivy smiled. The morning was too bright, too bright for her mood. The morning air was crisp and the warm light filtered in though the wooden window. The resounding knocks on the door woke her up and she let out a tired yawn. “Come in,” She replied, still half-asleep.
