"Calm down," Natalie told herself. "No jumping to conclusions."

Knowing Rowan, he wouldn't have taken advantage of her while she was delirious from the drug. Besides, she was 100% sure that nothing had happened to her while she was asleep.

So, then, what could have led to the purplish hickie-like marks along her collarbone? She couldn't have planted them herself.

While changing into the clothes she'd worn last night, Natalie debated asking Rowan about the marks. She feared that the questions would only lead to awkwardness.

After all that pondering, she decided not to ask Rowan about anything that might have happened last night. It only mattered how the night ended, and as far as she was concerned, it ended with Rowan being a gentleman who didn't take advantage of her.

Natalie opened the door quietly, hoping to sneak out of the apartment without alerting Rowan. Alas, she ran right into him when he emerged from the kitchen.
