ARIA’s POVDoes he truly see me as nothing more than a pariah, deserving of nothing but scorn? Does he genuinely care for Ashley, or is she just another pawn in his grand scheme?

As I turned, watching him leave the house with her in his arms, her hands wrapped around his neck, it felt like a sharp blade with fiery edges had been sent into my chest.

“I didn’t even do anything wrong— on purpose.” I muttered to myself as I saw them leave the front door.

As I forced myself to not cry and remain strong, a sudden wave of nausea hit me as I staggered, grabbing on to the head of the couch as I coughed, my stomach stirring and churning violently.

“Oh, my goodness.” I whispered, as next thing I knew, I was rushing to the nearest sink and emptying my guts inside as red clouded my vision.

Whatever came out of me was both sour, itchy, and disgustingly pathetic— like my life.

I coughed till I got it all out of me and just as I turned on the water, I felt another’s presence.
