Colin had founded a company that barely made its way onto the stock market.

While Jessamine was in junior high, her mother passed away in a road accident. On the second day of her mother's funeral, Colin brought Amy Quilton and her mother home.

His mother couldn't accept Amy or her mother and thought they brought shame to her and her family. After a huge argument with Colin, his mother took Jessamine away and left them. From then onward, she cut all contact with him.
