The two didn't know what to do with themselves, left to rot in a pile of rubble from their broken dreams with just one single question in mind. How the hell did they get here?

It was all they could think about, retracing every step of their lives as they tried to find where they went wrong. What did they do to deserve this? Where exactly had they taken that wrong turn that ultimately seemed to be leading to their demise? And the most pressing thought of all; was there any coming back from this? Was there still a possibility for them to turn this around? Did they even stand a chance?

It's what she asks the man, whose lips tug into a frown at the sight of her- lost, hopeless, and completely and utterly exhausted. He was sure that he looked no better himself, but the shade of blue she wore, gutted and beaten down by the world - worse than that, by his own family - broke his heart.

He couldn't stand it. He couldn't bear the look in her eyes, those emeralds that had him pushing out of h

Liviana is hit with a spell of déjà vu the moment she ventures through that office door and settles back down in that chair, across from her husband, beside her sister-in-law, stuck in hell all over again, it seems. But really, what else was new? At this point, she was beginning to think that, after birth, after leaving the hospital, she had gotten lost on her way home and entered some alternate dimension where she was stuck in an eternal hell - stuck in this chair living some never-ending nightmare. She hated it. Hated this. And she wasn't sure how much more of it she could take in one day. She was just so exhausted- completely, totally, utterly exhausted, and she couldn't stand it anymore. She couldn't take another second of it, and for what felt like the hundredth time that day, Liviana can feel the moment that elastic band inside of her finally snaps, and she knew it right then and there - there would be no repairing it this time around. Liviana was done. Her eyes dart between

"Leo-""No, I don't want to hear it!" The woman in question shouts, forcing her way out of Luka's arms and charging forward to point a finger in her brother's face. "You're a son of a bitch, you know that?"Blaze scoffs, shoving her wrist away. "And you're her daughter. What's your point?"Leona narrows her eyes, blue eyes so sharp, so vicious he swore that, if looks could kill, he would have dropped dead only to be reborn and die again. Right now, she was so upset, eyes so cold, he could've thought she hated him. Luckily, she doesn't give him the chance, spouting out something relieving among her hurt blubbering of nonsense. "You're a traitor! A coward! And just a straight-up dickhead!" She lists, steam practically shooting out of her ears as she addresses the man, who does nothing more than raise a measly brow as she goes on, and on, and on about how awful he was for what he did. "How could you? Huh? You know she's like an atomic bomb! How could you just throw her at us like that?

Liviana and Blaze share a look of pure and utter dread and no sooner is it passed between then, before they could even blink, they find themselves turning on their heels to run, rushing off toward the impending chaos without so much as another spoken word about it - aside from one simple question that they couldn't help but spare in between it all. "Why the hell did she come back?"It wasn't like Amara to return to the scene of her crime - not without a cause, and Blaze had made it clear that she didn't have one here. She couldn't. She already blew her last chance. So why was she back now? What else could she want from them? How much more damage could she do?They weren't sure they wanted to know, but it seems as though, once again, they weren't going to be given any other choice than finding out - and first hand, at that...God, what did they do to deserve this? The question dies on Livi's tongue the moment she see's her. Blaze's sister, yes. But not the one that everyone feared -

"What was that all about?"The question comes out as a hushed, breathless whisper passed between them in the hall they hurry down. It draws Liviana's eyes upward, daring a peek at his face as she asks, "Huh?" Clearly, having not been paying any attention whatsoever. She was too caught up in herself - in her head, her worries, her problems - lost to the world outside of that chaos in her mind and all the people in between. She could hardly hear over the sound of her racing thoughts and the pounding of her heart in her ears.Blaze sighs at the distant look on her face, mistaking it for indifference or - if that cruel little voice in the back of his head was right - something worse than just indifference, but instead something worse, something colder, something inspired by anger. Was she upset with him? Was she angry? Hurt?Oh, he hoped not. Hurting Liviana was the last thing he wanted, and not at all what he meant to do.But when had that ever stopped him before?Blaze mentally curses h

She freezes at the sound, heart sinking into her stomach as she realizes that, fuck - the time has come sooner rather than later, after all. He caught her.Her eyes flit up to catch a glimpse of Gio's face, his eyes wide as he stares off into the distance in horror, totally wrecked with the severity of the situation.Dear God, what has he done? What has he gotten himself into? What has she dragged him into?!He turns to the woman, eyes narrowing with a silent question and a murmur of, "Well, now what are you gonna do? Huh?" Was she all talk or did she really have a plan?"I- I don't-" Livi sputters at the gravity of his question, the intensity of his gaze that just screamed 'I told you so' in a hundred million ways, and all without speaking a word. Still, each unspoken one hit her like a brick to the head, and it left her just as dazed. Why did she think this was a good idea? Why did she think that she could pull this off? And more importantly, why on earth did she go and get this poo
