Chapter 2 The Help Doesn't Know Their Place

Author: Precious Words
Evelyn's POV

Judy was wearing her cheerleading uniform, which featured an extremely short blue and white miniskirt. She had a colorful ribbon wrapped around her neck that made her look rather alluring.

She was lounging in a chair as her rabid admirers waited on her, massaging her shoulders and serving her water.

Everyone was praising Judy for the drinks and things she'd supposedly provided, calling her the school's nicest, most outstanding she-wolf. What they didn't know was that I'd bought all of it.

In my previous lifetime, the words Wyatt had said to me left me with a strong sense of inadequacy and inferiority.

He'd eyed me derisively and declared, "Apart from having money, Evelyn, what else is there about you that's worthy of praise? What else do you have to offer that makes it worthwhile for us to befriend you?"

Because of that, and so that I could make more friends, I got my family to sponsor all of the school's activities. I left it to Wyatt, who'd made the suggestion, to handle all of the purchasing.

However, Wyatt informed all our classmates that it was Judy who had paid for everything.

Moreover, Wyatt and Judy always attended all the events and activities together. Whenever someone asked them about their relationship, they would claim to be just friends.

In reality, in everyone's eyes, the way the two of them constantly looked out for each other made them seem like the perfect couple.

Wyatt's favoritism for Judy had always been this obvious. Why had the old me been so blind to that?

I'd even foolishly taken the fact that he treated me like his servant and made me run errands for him as a sign that he had a good relationship with me. After all, why else did he not ask anyone but me to do these things for him?

Now, blessed by the chance of rebirth from the Moon Goddess, I finally understood that unconditional sacrifice would only lead to others bullying me even more viciously.

It was only when I possessed true strength myself that others would show me genuine respect.

"Hey, pig! Hurry up and do what Wyatt told you to do. Go get the food!" Steven Weaver, who often played basketball with Wyatt, snapped at me.

"Don't do that, Steven," Wyatt pretended to chide him.

However, he turned to me and said impatiently, "Stop being difficult, Evelyn. Who else treats you well, besides me?"

Wyatt's show of standing up for me made me laugh.

He and his father, Mark Smith, who was my family's chauffeur, relied on my money for a living. What gave him the audacity to demand that I run errands for him?

After casting a scornful glance at my body, Wyatt instructed as if it were for my sake, "Get a move on! Just think of it as exercise to lose some of your fat."

He even nodded in a self-satisfied manner, as if he'd done me a favor.

Judy walked over to Wyatt and said, "That wouldn't be nice. I can't always trouble Evelyn like that. I'm sure she has her own things to do. I can get the food myself."

It sounded like she was coming to my defense in a kind, considerate manner. However, while the others weren't looking, she was glaring at me maliciously.

Wyatt cast an approving look at Judy before turning back to me in contempt. "To her, nothing is more important than what I need her to do. She'll even cry in sadness if you try to stop her from doing it. Isn't that right, Evelyn?"

Well, he was right. The old me would always hurry off like a pathetic Omega whenever he gave me an order.

The school cafeteria only allowed students to buy lunch there at a specific time. Without needing a reminder from Wyatt, I would always buy two servings—one for him and one for me.

But whenever Wyatt found out that Judy had missed the lunch window, he'd give his serving to Judy. I would then voluntarily give mine to him. I'd rather starve than see him go hungry.

Not only did my earnest devotion to Wyatt not garner any of his respect or care in return, but I even got the moniker "pig".

"Hey, pig. Why haven't you gone to buy the food yet? You'd better watch it. Wyatt might punish you! You don't really think he's going to fall for the likes of you, do you?" Steven sneered.

Curious, I blinked and asked, "What am I like?"

The old me didn't care what others thought of me. All that mattered was that Wyatt liked me. But now, I was gripped with the desire to find out what the others' opinion of me was.

"You're the daughter of an Omega who comes to school with Young Master Wyatt! Don't tell me you spend every single day fantasizing about getting marked by Wyatt and becoming his mate. Don't forget that an Omega's daughter will only ever be a lowly Omega!

"Your master only lets you attend school because he trusts you. You should be grateful and not disobey his orders!" Steven declared arrogantly, his voice full of contempt for me.

Mimicking his tone, I asked calmly, "Are you sure I'm an Omega's daughter?"

My father was the Alpha of the Silvermoon pack. Wyatt was just the son of my family's chauffeur!

He was only allowed to bend the rules and ride with me to school because I liked him. But in everyone's eyes, he was the master, while I was the servant?

The misunderstandings grew out of my tolerance of such treatment in the past, but now, I felt it was time for me to set things back on track.

"What else would you be? Hurry up and get the food, Evelyn. If you take too long, Wyatt will be angry," Judy reminded.

Although she spoke in a kind and gentle manner, she was basically confirming my identity as a servant.

With a mocking smirk, I got ready to reveal my true identity to them.

Wyatt's POV"Why aren't you leaving yet? Are you so keen on becoming my father's daughter-in-law?" I snarled at Evelyn, who was still standing beside us. "You should look at yourself and see if you're even good enough or not first. Now get lost!""You're delusional," Evelyn shot back derisively, her brows creased. "Why would I be interested in you?"She bumped hard into me with her shoulder as she marched off toward her car and left.I'd grabbed Father by the hand, keeping him with me, so he could only yell after her in discontent, "Don't worry, Evelyn! When I get home, I'll teach this brat a good lesson!"Then, he turned to me, his eyes blazing with fury. "What the hell are you doing? I finally managed to see her, but you pissed her off and made her leave! Can't you do something right for once?"I eyed him in exasperation as I pleaded, "Can you not show up at my school?""I'll come if I damn well please!" Father roared back at me. "What about the money? Instead of spending yo

Evelyn's POVWyatt had texted me earlier with a short apology, and now, he'd shown up at my house in person. It seemed the little performance I put on this afternoon had a pretty notable effect on him.Wyatt looked at me, his voice tinged with jealousy as he asked, "Does being with Alpha Bennett make you that happy?""It does! He treats me well, unlike you," I replied with a nod before voicing my curiosity. "Why are you, someone with a girlfriend, here at my house?""If I broke up with Judy, would you still like me? Just like the way you used to…" Wyatt asked quietly. His head was bowed, so I couldn't see his expression.Despite knowing full well this was just an act of his, I was still quite delighted to see him in this state. Tamping down the delight I felt, I answered curtly, "Nope."Wyatt's lips twisted in a bitter smile. "So you really… don't plan on ever being with me again.""What's wrong? Did you run out of money again?" I eyed him in scrutiny."You'd only ever show up

Wyatt's POVI had just gotten home when I heard a cold voice bark at me, "What's going on with you and Evelyn lately?"It was Father, who was sitting in my room."Nothing," I said.On the way back, I couldn't stop thinking about my situation with Evelyn. Now that I saw him, my mood soured even further."Nothing? Didn't I tell you to go make up with her? Haven't you been able to appease her yet?" Father snapped, his tone demanding—as though I owed him money.Irritated, I retorted, "Why should I appease her? She fired me! Am I supposed to beg her? Don't I have any self-respect?"Yes, I did feel some regret after seeing that she was now with Bennett. Marcus kept screaming in my head, "She belongs to us! You must snatch her back!"But now that I saw the way Father was behaving, I was glad that Evelyn and I had gone our separate ways.I had barely finished speaking when Father stormed up to me and slapped me hard across the face."You little brat! Evelyn's POVI reached out to pry Wyatt's hand off my wrist, but he clutched it even more tightly.Smiling bitterly, I asked, "I thought you hated having me cling to you the most? You said that the way I kept latching onto you felt like a nightmare to you."This was what he said to me just before I had died. I wouldn't have known about it if he hadn't told me. It was then that I found out how much my feelings for him repulsed him.Wyatt was startled. "I never said that!"I knew that the current Wyatt hadn't said it, of course, but it didn't mean he didn't feel that way."You've hated me all along, haven't you?" I said sorrowfully as I squeezed a few tears out of my eyes. "If you didn't hate me, then why would you have spent all your time with Judy, giving her all the gifts I gave you? Why would you treat her so well and treat me like a maid?"I no longer liked Wyatt. After everything I'd been through, the only feeling I had left for him was loathing. I'd died once because of h

  • Reborn for My True Alpha   Chapter 35 Wyatt Runs After Her

Lewis' POVIn my head, I asked my wolf, "I didn't mishear that, right? What did Alpha Bennett just say?"I had to wonder if there was something wrong with my hearing.Everyone had been saying that Evelyn was some old werewolf's sugar baby, but Bennett just said he was pursuing her.He even used the word "pursue"! Why would he need to pursue someone?Wasn't it more likely that as long as he nodded in agreement, any she-wolf would jump at the chance to be with him?Refusing to accept this outcome, I stared at Bennett, trying to catch some hint that he was lying. He eyed me sharply, asking, "What is it? Do you have a problem with that?""Not at all!"I wouldn't dare to have any problems with that. I just couldn't believe that Bennett had fallen for Evelyn.Did this mean that I'd been flirting all day with the she-wolf Bennett was interested in?I'd even said those things in front of him! How I wished I could kill myself right now.As I recalled this, I hurriedly apologized, "I

Wyatt's POVThe match was about to start. My teammates and I were warming up, but I couldn't keep my eyes on the court. They kept drifting toward the bleachers.Evelyn was standing there in her white platform sandals, rallying the she-wolves around her just like she used to cheer for me—only this time, she was doing it for Bennett.Just then, I heard Anna's voice loud and clear. "Is she trying to win them over?""She's probably desperate to make her presence known with Alpha Bennett here," Judy said softly. "She used to act the same way when she chased Wyatt, didn't she?""You mean she's after Alpha Bennett now? Is she crazy?" Anna's eyes widened in disbelief as she glanced over at Evelyn. "Does she think Alpha Bennett would willingly be her plaything? Who'd want a she-wolf like her who's gone to bed with some old werewolf?""Wyatt, the match is starting!"At the urging of my teammates, I refocused my attention and got ready for the match. As soon as it started, Lewis and I r
