Chapter 9

It is customary for the Morrie family to have family dinners on weekends because Alfred Morrie and Eva Morrie love to entertain and have family meals. Everyone follows the custom of family reunions religiously every week; they always dedicate the meal to discussing various social, political, and ethical issues.

The weekend break is just the tonic Christa needs, but her attempts to escape from the claustrophobia of family life have failed. For the universe is playing its little tricks again, Christa doesn’t even be able to say NO. She knows instantly that something must have happened at the dinner party that could lead to her death.
