Chapter 57

Luna's POV

When the party comes to an end, everyone starts filing out of the hall slowly. People are saying their goodbyes, shaking hands, and making their way toward the exit. I'm relieved that nothing else happened after the earlier humiliation with Sarah, but I still can't shake off Lily's words. Her threat keeps echoing in my mind. "Even blood." The way she said it, so calm and serious, makes my skin crawl every time I think about it.

I stand behind a corner near the main entrance, watching as guests continue to leave. Some are laughing and talking loudly, clearly having enjoyed themselves. Others look tired and ready to go home. I check my phone and see it's already past midnight.

My teammates are gathering near the parking area. Since we all came in one car, we have to go back the same way. I can see Alex and Liam talking to some other players, probably saying their final goodbyes. Coach Margaret is shaking hands with some officials, and I know we'll be leaving soon.
