CHAPTER FORTY-NINE

Magic was their only reasonable explanation and there was nothing any of them could do to change it. 

She wondered how the bulb worked. What if they wanted to turn it off?  

Her question was answered when Justin flipped a switch. He had been looking at it for a while but found the courage to flip it. That must be the switch for the bulb. 

The bulb was okay but the standing fan was scaring her. What if it walked closer to them and ate them up. She gulped at the thought of that. She would stay far away from it. 

There were two bunk beds and a single bed at a corner. She went to the single bed. She was scared to stay on the bunk beds, especially the top one. How can there be a bed on top of another? 

That was bonkers.  

Kale didn’t hesitate. She climbed up to the top of one of the bunker beds and began jumping on it.

“I will not do that if I were you,” Josh warned.
