LOGIN“Why? Why does he want to see me?”
“I'm afraid I don't have answers to that. But I'm certain Mr Blackwood will explain when you meet him in person.” Dante steps aside and notions her to come into the back seat of the car he had just walked out of. She scans them quietly, the security around the family house is tight, they wouldn't have let them in unless they've been verified. Thea took one step after the other, down the plight of stairs and settled in the backseat of the SUV while Dante shut the door. If this is how she's going to get kidnapped, this better be it but strangely, her danger alert wasn't going off. But she wouldn't miss the chance to tell off the bastard who ru8ned her life! The ride started and continued the silence for what felt like forever. They drove past several streets and estates.. She was starting to wonder when they would get to their destination. Or is this really a kidnap like she had suspected? It doesn't even matter. Her father already disowned her, they won't get a penny from him. Thea sends her live location to Daisy in case things go south.. “We are here.” The driver said and d Dante opened the door for Thea. She stepped out of the car to see they were in front of the most elite building in the entire city. The gemstone. Not even her family, the Balmeros could secure a membership in this club.. The only way to get in is if you know its owner! And how do you find its owner , you might ask? Mission impossible! According to rumours, the only way to get a membership into Gemstone is by being one of the top billionaires in the country! Her family wasn't close to that. “Shall we?” Dante asked, leading the way He led her through the magnificence building that was over twenty stories tall with over a hundred different clubs to partake in. Dante kept pushing forward, heading towards the MVP section. Even this luxurious club had its MVP section, reserved for the top three wealthy ones in the country. They got into the elevator and rode in silence for another two minutes before finally arriving in a huge swimming area. Thea scanned the room which hadn't least twenty attendants who clearly work for the Gemstone, at beck and call. Their uniforms were well tailored and not a strand of hair out of place! Their heads were bowed and posture straight, they were no different from statues. Who is this man she's here to meet? “Please, have a seat. Mr Blackwood will attend to you shortly..” Dante said, gesturing at the little sitting area next to the pool with a shivering center table. Thea takes a seat as instructed and watches Dante leave the room. She exhales, her heart pounding in her chest. What could he possibly want from her? No. She's here to tell him off! He took advantage of her, she is well within her rights to demand some serious answers from him. Thea straightens up, she might not be a Balmero anymore but she hasn't lost her dignity yet! She will demand answers from him and make sure he realises how much damage he has caused in her life! The pool water next to her began to move and curiously, she turns towards it, staring into the deep blue water. There was someone in there but she couldn't tell who it was. Barely seconds into her curiosity, Seth Blackwood swam out of the water, dripping wet from head to toe. Theas breath seized momentarily. He's so…..dreamy. Maybe she was too out of it last night to realise how built and sexy he was! But damn! Her eyes went down to his veiny hands. He had clamped them around her neck and made her look at how beautiful she looked in the mirror that night. Seth grabs one of the towels handed to him by one of the attendants, wiping his face off before his eyes settle on Thea intensely. She looked away, her face flustered beyond reason.. How the hell is she supposed to confront him if he looks this hot? Like a freaking sex god! A Greek god even! “Thea” he asked, walking towards the sitting area. “Yes.” She said, meeting his gaze stubbornly. Why should she look away? He was the one who should be embarrassed. But she is met with an expressionless face and a cold demeanour. “Why am I here?” She asked. She saw a glimmer of surprise in his eyes but it quickly vanished. “I was expecting your call. When I got nothing..” He paused, staring down at her lips. It felt so good but Thea remained focused, unbothered by him. “I had to track you.” he said, finally meeting her eyes once more. How the hell did he find her anyway? She didn't tell him her name either but he seems to have found out anyway.. “Is this what you do to every woman you have a one night stand with? Thea asked. Seth leans away from her. “I've never done that. No.” Thea chuckled. “You took advantage of me and you think you could just get me down here to tell me you tracked me down?” Seth taps a brown envelope that was on the table the whole time. “What is it?” she asked “Open it.” “Get to the reason why I'm here or I'll walk.” Thea said, gritting her teeth. She had no reason to be nice to this man! He pretty much ruined her life! Why the hell was he even in her hotel room to begin with? Seth paused. “You didn't seem this confrontational last night.” “Maybe because I was drugged and way out of it to question why you were in my room in the first place!” She snapped. “Do you intend to blame me for the hotel's mistake? Or you being out of it?” Thea chuckled in disbelief. “What happened last night ruined my life! My fiancée cancelled our wedding and my family disowned me and you're just going to stand there and act nonchalant?” Seth shrugs. “Yes I can.” Thea’s brows furrowed even deeper! He's an asshole and he wasn't even trying to hide it. “I'm done here.” She picks up her phone and heads towards the exit. “Marry me.”The rain had turned the world into a blur of gray and shadow. He wasn't going to let him slip. Now that he had a child involved, he wouldn't let Donald slip away and let him haunt his family ever again. The chase ended at the old bridge just outside the city. Rain had begun to fall, the wind howling through the girders.“Donald!” Seth shouted, his voice echoing through the storm. “Stop!”He didn't until headlights cut through the darkness. Arian’s black SUV screeched to a stop across the slick asphalt, blocking his path. He slammed the door and ran forward, his breath forming white clouds in the cold night air.He had been following since he saw Donald run out of the house. Donald stood at the center of the bridge, coat soaked, hair plastered to his face. His hands trembled, but not from the cold. In one hand gleamed a knife, slick with rain and blood.“Donald!” Arian’s voice rang out like a warning. “It’s over. The police are already surrounding the place.”Donald turned his head

His heart pounded in his chest as she adjusted his tie, eyes staring down at her with more fear than she'd ever since in his eyes. She met his gaze, a smile on her lips. “What?” “I didn't know you were this..brave.” Thea chuckled. “There’s more to me than you know. And you're going to spend forever finding out.” “Is that a deal?” He smiled and she nodded, eyes glowing. The morning light fell softly across the kitchen, painting the marble counter in shades of gold. Thea was standing right in front of Seth, eyes fixed on his suit and then his tie before giving a satisfied nod. “You're good to go.” Seth glanced at the standing mirror behind her, crisp shirt, dark tie, hair pulled neatly back. He looked way better than he did weeks back. “I don’t have to go in today,” he said without meeting her gaze. She smiled faintly. “If you don't, we will never get this over with."Seth’s eyes met hers, calm but shadowed. “I just need to make sure everything stays in place. The police have
The air inside the courthouse was heavy, tinged with the sharp scent of polished wood, coffee from the vending machine in the lobby. It smelt of something else as well, anticipation and fear..Seth’s hand brushed against hers as they walked through the entrance, his grip firm and grounding.“We’ll be fine,” he whispered, though she knew it was more for her than for himself.“I hope so,” she murmured back, adjusting the lapels of her blazer. The courtroom was already buzzing. Reporters scribbled notes, cameras flashed, and the occasional whisper drifted across the rows of chairs. Thea’s chest tightened. She could feel every gaze on her, every expectation weighing down on her shoulders.Seth stayed close, he was going to keep her promise of keeping her safe. She had asked that they attend the trial; it would be their first public appearance after Celine's death. His fingers tightened in her as they settled down, waiting. The trial had already begun when they entered. The defendant, R
The first thing that hit him that morning wasn’t the light, it was the silence. The house felt too still, too quiet. The kind of calm that only came after a storm had exhausted itself. The curtains swayed gently, letting in fractured sunlight that painted lazy shapes across the bedroom floor. For a moment, Seth didn’t move. He just lay there, staring at the ceiling, letting the faint hum of the city seep through the walls. Is this the right thing to do? Coming back here? Would Celine forgive him for not giving her a proper goodbye? If he's going against Donlad, will the people he cares about be safe? The bed dipped beside him. A reminder that he wasn’t alone.Thea was curled up next to him, the sheets tangled around her waist, her hair a soft, chaotic halo on his chest. She was breathing evenly, one hand resting over his heart as if it belonged there. Seth’s fingers brushed over her knuckles lightly, careful not to wake her as if any firmer touch would break the illusion that she w
It's been three weeks. Donald was nowhere to be found, Celine had undergone autopsy and the police were doing their jobs. The rain began the moment the last words of the funeral service faded into the hollow silence of the cemetery. It was soft at first, hesitant drops tapping against the sea of black umbrellas. But soon, the sky broke open, heavy and merciless, as though the heavens themselves mourned for Celine Blackwood.Thea stood still under the gray downpour, her hand gripping the handle of her umbrella so tightly her knuckles whitened. Her heart sank with a sudden reality as Celine was lowered into her grave, she was really gone. She was battling a terminal illness but she was supposed to have more time. More time with her, more time to do everything she wanted to do. She could have met her grandchild….The scent of wet earth and roses hung in the air. Around her, people began to drift away. Family friends, old acquaintances, business partners who whispered condolences.Adam
