The rest of the ride was silent as we both had nothing else to say to each other. I knew I had come too far to back down now, so I kept myself busy staring outside the window. Watching the beautiful city, as people walk by, and as the trees wave goodbye.

“We will be arriving shortly,” I heard Jason’s right-hand man speak through his earbuds.

“ It must be Jason calling,” I said to myself as I avoided staring at him in the rear mirror though I could feel his eyes on me. I kept my focus outside the window, waiting for the time this journey would come to a halt as I was becoming anxious.

The journey to Jason’s selected location felt far, like it was at the outskirts of the city. I wasn’t wrong as I recognized a place where my mother and I came in search of some herbs to help with my father’s illness.

“Why did he choose this part of the city for us to meet?” I asked Jason’s right-hand man still staring outside the window, and he answered,

“His safety ma’am.”

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    Trepidation

“You are mine now,” His words rang in my head continuously. I couldn’t believe what I had gotten myself into. But there must be a way out for me. So I decided to distract him. “What do you mean by you threw Erina out of the window?” I asked him as I watched him drink from the glass that was right in front of him. “What is there not to understand pumpkin? She is of no value to me,” he responded. “Of no value? But she is your mate,” I said to him. “Was, pumpkin. She was my mate,” Jason said in a monotone. “But she loves you,” I responded, trying to convince him alongside distract him. I was glad it was working perfectly. “I know she does pumpkin but that has nothing to do with me. She serves no purpose for me, now that you are here,” he responded. I was confused about how he spoke, the things he said about Erina like she is some commodity. “So you rejected me and mated with her because she has her wolf? And dumped me because I didn’t? Really?” I questioned him in shock.

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    Final shot

The sun hit me through the curtains as I lay peacefully on my bed, serving as a form of reminder that today was the day I would come face to face with the one who haunted me, the devil in human form—Jason. My stomach tumbled in fear as I showered, my appetite lost, and my spine shivered in fear. I was in a state of confusion, stuck between the feeling of backing out and going ahead with my idea. But it was too late to back out, wasn’t it? I stepped out of my room dressed in a color I haven’t worn in a while—black, for it fits my mood for today. If Ryder were still around in the manor, he would have been shocked to have seen me in this dress as I have always complained about how dark his clothing was and how dark he kept the manor wanting little or no light. Although my go-to dresses were pastel colors and white dresses that made me feel immaculate, there was nothing celestial or dreamy about meeting Jason. Looking around the manor to make sure I was the only one around as expect

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    The charter of fallacies

I have been anxious the whole day about the decision I took on going to go see Jason. No one knows about this. Not Brandon, not Ryder. I took the side of encouragement that I was doing it for them, for the betterment of the pack as I can’t deal with seeing them drained day in day out. A little chat I had with Ryder when he got back over dinner showed me that what I was doing was indeed right and it needed to be done fast. “The farms are drying up, the crops are dying, and the farmers are not happy about it,” Ryder told me when I asked him how it has been out there. The dark circles around his eyes and his eye bags showed he has been getting little to no sleep and that hurts me even more. As much as it hurts, it shows that I was doing the best I could to make all of this end. I do not mind the repercussions, I just wanted the men I love to find peace.“I know all of this started with me, it started because of me and I assure you it will all be behind us soon,” I said to Ryder pl

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    Sloppy Truth

Kiara’s POV Ever since the incident that occurred between the lieutenants and me at the veranda, I have kept to myself more, saying little or no words when Ryder or Brandon are not around. The manor was filled with silence most of the time as Brandon and Ryder were out, fighting off the rogues, capturing them, and asking them for leads. They knew it was Jason who was the mastermind behind this, I knew it was Jason as well, but for them to be believed, they needed a testimonial by one or more of the rogues naming their master in front of everyone including the elders. These attacks have been happening for weeks now and each time I see Ryder and Brandon, I feel guilty. The stress was evident in their eyes, and their tiredness, and exhaustion were worn on their sleeves. I knew this was happening because of me, I knew all of this began with me and was going to end with me. I could not bring myself to continue seeing the men I love wallow in stress. I knew what I had to do to end thi

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    Contact of rebellion

Kiara’s POV I walked in on men dressed in uniforms standing before Ryder. Ryder had mentioned bringing in men who would protect the manor, but I did not expect it to be highly decorated men. I thought a group of onegas would be the ones to handle this. I watched as they obeyed him, listening to him attentively, and nodding in unison. Ryder saw me standing at the corner and invited me to come into the sitting room where he was sitting and where the men stood before him— men who I discovered were luitenants as I walked in. I noticed their hesitancy, how all four of them looked at me when I sat close to Ryder. They had the same look as the elders when I appeared twice before them. “She is who you are to protect. Your services are to be rendered to her as her safety comes first in this household,” Ryder said to them and they nodded without uttering any words. “You all know what positions you are to take in the manor. You can return to your duty posts,” Ryder added and they off
