KAELION POV
I could not help but think Seliora was right. I needed to be discreet until I got to the root of the issue. The plan was simple: All I needed to do was visit the Blood Moon Pack and try my very best to locate the man in the drawing. Then, I would subdue him and take him into my car. I knew the plan sounded easy but it was going to be hard to fight a man and take him in his own home and pack. Walking into my room, I lay down on the bed and stared at the ceiling blankly, and thought about the night I had. From Seliora seeing me in my frightened state due to my fear of enclosed spaces to calling her Misha, it was a whole lot. I also recalled how I couldn't stop touching her face. “That can never happen again,” I said to myself. Having anything to do with Seliora or harbouring any feelings for her or whatever this was would be a betrayal of my pack. Afterwards, I stood up from the bed and took a long shower. I then walked out of the room and made my way to the dining table. “Good morning,” I muttered to Jackson who was already having his breakfast. “Good morning, it seemed like you had a long night,” He replied with a straight face while I sat down and started to serve myself. “Yes,” I responded, taking a bite of my food. “What were you up to?” He asked, still maintaining his gaze. I wanted to tell Jackson all about the drawing and what Lexi had told Seliora before she died but I knew I should not just yet until I was sure what exactly this was. It just sounded unreal that one of the blood moon pack members happened to be in my pack on the day Seliora’s father attacked us. “Nothing much,” I simply muttered, pouring myself some juice. “I talked to Seliora earlier, Kaelion. I know you were both at the Library overnight. Why would you take her to a place filled with our pack history and files?” He asked in a low tone. “I know how it sounds but you have to know I am doing all this for the pack,” I stated. It was rare to see Jackson so upset but he was. He kept digging his fork into his food while staring at me. “I promise I will tell you all about this when I return from my trip,” I muttered. “You are going on a trip?” He asked, dropping the fork which made a loud clang on the plate. “Yes but I am going to be back soon, I need you to look after the pack till then,” I answered. “Do not tell me you are going with Seliora,” He uttered, standing up. “It's important, I have to take her,” I said. “She is going to be the end of you, Kaelion, and the end of this pack you have been trying so hard to protect,” He said angrily before walking away. I was doing this for the best. If I had told Jackson why I was going on this trip, he wouldn’t have let me go on my own. I needed him to stay here with the pack to protect them. Maybe, just maybe if one of us were home on the day of the attack, things would be different. I continued my food and after I was done, I returned to my office. I had a lot to do. I could not just step into a dangerous pack unprepared. I needed a solid plan and a backup plan if my plan should fail. After spending the whole day in my office, I came up with something and decided to go get some rest. I walked out of the office and made my way into my room. The trip to the Blood moon pack was a six-hour journey, I needed to pack a few essential things I might need on the way including weapons to defend myself should things go south. In no time, I finished packing and placed the small bag in the corner of my bed. I still had no idea if taking Seliora with me was a good plan but maybe she needed this. After I find the man in the picture, I was going to make him confess why he was here on the day it the attack. I was pretty sure he was her father's alliance. “But why?” I thought to myself. I could not understand why Seliora’s father would go all the way to the blood moon pack for an alliance. I continued to go over the situation again and again but soon drifted off to sleep. The sound of my alarm woke me up the next morning. I slowly walked out of bed and instantly started to get ready for the day. Just as I finished putting on a black leather jacket to pull my whole look together, I heard a knock on the door. I walked over and opened it up. “Jackson,” I muttered, in surprise. “Look, I am sorry about yesterday. I know how much you love this pack and how you would do anything to protect it. I just do not trust her, you also can not,” Jackson said, walking in. “I don't, Jackson but this is important but I need you to stay here and look after the pack,” I responded, pulling him in for a hug. “Here,” Jackson said, breaking the hug after a while. “The maids found your phone in the Library and I fixed it for you.” “Thanks man,” I muttered, taking it from him. “Please call me if anything at all comes up,” Jackson said, making his way towards the door. “I will,” I responded with a smile. “About Seliora’s father, he is ill. The death of his pack and his missing daughter must have gotten to him,” Jackson said, looking back at me before finally walking out.SELIORA POVRex was dead and Zack had escaped. All in one night. All that I could get the answers I so desperately wanted were gone.Kaelion was crashing out and instructing all the guards to make sure to find Zack and bring him back to the pack while I just stared at him in silence. After getting tired of listening to Kaelion instruct his guards, I walked out of the hospital and went into my room.I then locked the door and walked over the window. I opened it up and smiled at the moon which was now at its peak.Changing into my wolf form was the only way I could release the tension of the night.I soon felt my claws emerging and my senses heightened, just seconds later, I had turned.I let out a howl then launched myself out of the window. I then ran out of the pack gate which was open and began to run through the woods.Full moons were always my favourite.I made sure to avoid the obsidian pack members and stay as far away from them as possible. They were a pack while I was a lone w
KAELION POVRex was getting away.“I will be back, Kaelion. I will come to take what is mine,” He stated, swinging the door wide open while I continued to run towards the gate.“Damn it!” I muttered as he ran out.I then reached the gate but heard a loud thud before I could go after him.“Rex,” I called out, looking out of the gate.If Rex was right about this being a bigger conspiracy that Alpha Thane was a part of, it only meant I had a huge problem. The one who orchestrated the plan to attack my pack was still out there.“Found him,” I heard, Jackson say walking into the house while dragging Rex by the legs. “I also knew the one who attacked Zack would try to finish him off.”I had never been happier to see Jackson.“Shut the gate,” I muttered, staring at the guards.Tonight was a full moon which meant I only had about two hours to get Rex to talk before transforming into my wolf form.Rex would also be transforming. He would be much stronger than he is now.“You will have to kill
SELIORA POV“Someone is here,” I whispered into Kaelion’s ear before slowly peeping into the hospital room.It was Rex.He was in the hospital room to finish what he started just like I had predicted.I could feel Kaelion’s heartbeat race as he leaned towards me and watched Rex make his way slowly towards Zack who was lying unconscious on the hospital bed.I could also feel his anger rising but this was not the time to act. I needed to see if there was anything Rex could do that which give me some clues about why he was doing this.“Stop!” Kaelion growled, rushing out of where we hid as Rex pulled a knife out of his shirt. He immediately gripped Rex’s hand while I watched the scene quietly.“I trusted you, Rex. Why would you betray the pack like this?” Kaelion asked, his voice a bit calmer this time.Rex didn’t look remorseful about what he had done. He only continued to struggle to release the knife in his hands.“Why!” Kaelion barked, finally taking the knife from him and swinging i
SELIORA POVI was completely sure of this. After Jackson had earlier announced Zack had been attacked, I was certain it must have been one of the guards.Back at my pack, there was a way I was able to determine whether a person was telling the truth or lying by listening to the sound of their heartbeats.I did the same to the guards as Jackson interrogated them about the incident. They all had slow and steady heartbeats which told me all I needed to know, they were speaking the truth. This then made me conclude the traitor was a person of a higher rank in the pack. This narrowed my options and left me with two options. Jackson and the head of the pack of soldiers, Rex.Asking Kaelion to call out all of the pack members was a way for me to search Rex’s room. The search was difficult, I had to unlock his room and hurry because he could be back in any minute. For the first two minutes, I kept searching but found nothing that could prove him guilty. Afterwards, I tried to make my way out.
KAELION POVI had nothing to do with what happened to Alpha Thane and since I would really love to explain to Seliora, I had bigger things to worry about.Jackson looked really worried.“The prisoner from the blood moon pack was attacked and almost killed in his cell,” Jackson stated. “I think this might be the same person who attacked Lexi.”“What!” I exclaimed, angrily.Enough was enough.Today was the day I was going to find whoever was doing this. The traitor in the pack had to die today.“How is he?” I asked, storming out of the office angrily with Jackson. “How did the person who did this pass through the guards without being caught?”“He is in the pack hospital. All the guards on duty have been tied down. They all claimed not to know what happened,” Jackson answered. “Whoever did this is not an ordinary pack member, he is someone who nobody would have suspected,” Seliora spoke behind me.“Gather all the pack members, Jackson,” I demanded, as we walked out of the house.Zack co
SELIORA POV“Seliora,” I heard, Kaelion call out to me while my head continued to spin. “Take deep breaths.”“I..do..not..think.. I..can,” I stuttered, running my hands through my hair.I was having an anxiety attack. The last time I had one was when my sister died years ago.“You are all right,” Kaelion said pulling me into a tight embrace while I just remained there. After a few minutes, I managed to calm down.“You good now?” He asked, breaking the hug.“Yes,” I replied, walking over to the phone which was still on the table.“Why..Father?” I asked, as my hands trembled. He has broken my trust in him. Not only that, I wondered if he was ever going to tell me the truth that Kaelion didn't threaten to kill me.He lied without hesitation.“Forgive me, Seliora. I will make sure to come get you,” He replied.“I said Why?” I yelled, picking up the phone. “You did this to our pack, you ruined everything. I defended you with all I had in me.”“It’s complicated, Seliora. I had to do it bec
