Myles's POV

By the time she came out of the bathroom, I had already changed into my bathrobe and was ready to go in.

I didn't have a hairnet or stuff like that, as a matter of fact, no girl had ever been into my room, let more of using my bathroom. She had tried to dry her hair, probably with the towel, only it wasn't really that dry.

Her wet hair cascaded down her shoulders and all around her face. Her face, I could see, had the makeup washed off, but that had nothing to do with her beauty. To be honest, I think she was even more beautiful without the makeup.

“I'm through with the bathroom now.” She said.

Her voice snapped me out of my daze, and I realized I had been staring stupidly at her. Get your shit together, Myles! I walked past her and entered the bathroom.

I felt like staying there in the bathroom forever. I felt like passing the whole night right there in the bathtub, but I knew I had to get out eventually, and it was with a weary soul that I finally made my way into the be

Myles's POVThe smoke was still curling from the barrel of my gun as the man staggered back with a hand pressed firmly to his shoulder and his eyes wild as he looked at me.“You... you shot me!” He exclaimed in disbelief.“You'll live.” It was Knox who groaned in reply. “And that should serve as a message for all of you who would dare to question the boss! Who else has something to say?!”The room fell silent, and a few of the prospects shifted back awkwardly with their eyes darting nervously around the room. Good, that was more like the reactions I was used to getting.“Why don't you have that shoulder looked at?” I said as I coldly returned the gun to its holster. “Get that looked at and stop bleeding all over the place.”The frightened man immediately turned and left with his hand still pressed to the gun wound on his shoulder. That would teach him a lesson and the others as well. None of them would ever openly call me soft because I was married.“Return to whatever it was that you

Myles's POVThe moment my eyes snapped open, I knew I was in trouble. Someone was right there at the car window shining a light at me, but the very first thing I registered when I opened my eyes was the darkness. I had overslept. I hit the button and watched as the glass went down.“You know it's late, right?” The voice came from outside, probably a park security personnel. “You really should… wait.. Mr Voss?”I noted the surprise in his voice the moment that he recognized who I was.“Holy shit! It's really you. It's Myles Voss!” He clicked his blinding flashlight off, and I was glad he did.I wasn't a celebrity or a politician or anything of that nature, but my work had made me pretty much a local celebrity.“Sorry, Sir, I really didn't know it was you.” He apologized rather hastily as if he'd done something wrong. “My.. my.. Brother almost lost his house, but you swooped in at the last minute and got it back for him! You did all of that without charging a dime! He wouldn't have been

Myles's POV“What the fuck are you saying?” I growled.“It's not what I'm saying, boss.” Dean shrugged defensively. “It's what the boys are saying. You were supposed to be at yesterday's service, but then you had a total blackout where you almost crashed, and then you ran home immediately, probably…”He trailed off when he noticed the glare I was giving him.“I'm not the one coming up with all of these, Boss.” He shrugged again. “Like I said, people have been talking and rumours spread pretty fast.”“Well then, whoever's spreading those rumors will hope they hadn't been born when I finally get my hands on them!”With that, I pushed past Dean. I had heard enough of that but I didn't want to return to Serena either. She was doing well by herself, and I mean, what was the damn point anyway? She had already made it very clear she didn't want my help and was okay with handling things on her own.I sighed and made my way to the car instead, but stopped on the way out to hand over my card to

Myles's POVTrust girls for asking random questions out of the blue. Serena's question caught me off guard, and I winced as if a cold blade had been embedded deeply into my heart. My foot suddenly came down hard on the brakes, and we stopped right there in the middle of the road. The car behind me was about to collide with mine, but my quick thinking and sharp reflexes saved the day. I immediately started the car again and veered out of the way and into the curb close by, avoiding an accident just barely.“Fuck you, you asshole!”The frustrated driver yelled with his middle finger extended as he drove past us. Okay, maybe I deserved that one.“Really?” Serena asked in surprise. I could see her chest rising and falling from the sudden shock that came with my actions.“My apologies,” I muttered shamefully.“Did the car malfunction or something?” She asked with a frown creasing her features as she looked at me. She knew the answer already. I was sure she knew that was a reaction to her

Myles's POVFear and surprise, I could see it written boldly all over her face as she gaped at me in disbelief. I knew she wasn't expecting this and was taken aback by my sudden show of interest in our relationship, or whatever you'd choose to call whatever we had going between us.“Will that be fine by you?” I asked. The question I believe was necessary because I was beginning to grow quite restless with the way she was staring at me, almost as if she was convinced I only wanted to lure her out of the house and then run over her with the car or something.“Yeah.. I guess.” Her reply was slow and uncertain, but I now had the answer I needed, so I withdrew from the door.“Get dressed then..” I said as I walked away. “You should be ready in fifteen minutes.”Did I give her enough time? Or was fifteen minutes too long? I wondered in silence as I walked away. I knew girls could sometimes take forever just to get ready, so I really hoped I'd given her enough time to prepare.I returned to

  • Saint by Day,Sinner by Night   CHAPTER 63

Serena's POVI stood frozen by the counter with my hand still pressed to my mouth as Tobias's words lashed out venomously.“You don’t get to talk to me that way, boy.” Tobias snarled with his wrinkled face twisting with venom. “You might lead the Hellfangs now, but don’t forget who paved the way for you. Who built this empire before you could even hold a gun?” He stepped closer with his chest heaving with barely contained fury. “You’re nothing compared to me. Just a footnote beneath my boot.”Myles didn’t flinch. Instead, I heard a low and dangerous growl rumbled from his throat. “Do it again,” he dared with his voice so cold it made me shiver in terror. “I dare you.”Tobias blinked rapidly, clearly taken aback. For a man like him, who was used to absolute obedience, this was a shock. His lips immediately curled into a sneer. “You’ve grown arrogant.”He raised his hand again, but this time, Myles moved faster. His fingers clamped around Tobias’ wrist mid-air, stopping the slap befor
