Aya's POV

“No.”

The word tore out of me instantly. Raw. Broken. Violent enough that my throat burned around it.

But it wasn't me who spoke that.. it was the forest..

The clearing had become absolute chaos. Wind screamed through the shattered trees while corruption slammed against it from every direction like something alive and furious. Shadows twisted across the forest floor, writhing between roots and broken branches. The entire forest was shaking now.

Not angry anymore.

Panicking.

Because I

  • Saved, Then Rejected by my Ice Hockey Mate    Epilogue Two

Aya’s POVFor a moment we were consumed in silence. My mouth was agaped as I looked at the image, then at Mika. Then at my mate who is currently so shocked.“Two?”Mika nodded. “Twins.”My mouth fell open. Johanis didn't move. He looked like someone had just informed him that the entire world had stopped spinning.I slowly turned toward him. “Joha?”He blinked. “Twins?”Mika smiled. “Two healthy little heartbeats.”I pressed a hand over my mouth. A laugh escaped me. Then another. “Oh, my goddess.”Johanis finally moved. He looked at me, his eyes wide. “We're having twins.”I nodded, laughing and crying at the same time. “Apparently.”He looked back at the crystal. Two tiny lives. Two little hearts. Two babies…His hand found mine again, and he brought it to his lips. Then he pressed a kiss to my knuckles.“We're going to need a bigger room,” he whispered. I laughed through my tears. “That's your first thought?”“No.”“What was your first thought?”He looked at me. “That I love you.”

  • Saved, Then Rejected by my Ice Hockey Mate    Epilogue One

Aya’s POVI had always imagined that the end of our story would be dramatic.Maybe there would be one final battle. One last ancient prophecy. Perhaps the Elders would gather in the grand hall, declare that the world was finally safe, and throw some ridiculously extravagant celebration in our honor.Instead, the end of our story began with Johanis stealing the blankets.Again.I woke up shivering, my back pressed against his chest and absolutely none of the covers left on my side of the bed. I slowly turned my head. Johanis was sleeping peacefully. One arm was wrapped around my waist, his leg was tangled with mine, and the entire blanket was secured beneath his chin like he had personally conquered it.I narrowed my eyes. “Johanis.”He didn't move. I poked his cheek. Nothing. I poked him again, harder this time. He grunted as I huffed. “Give me the blanket.”He merely tightened his arms around me.I gasped. “Are you serious?”“Five more minutes.”“You said that five minutes ago!”“The

  • Saved, Then Rejected by my Ice Hockey Mate    120 - Finale

Aya’s POVIf someone had told me a year ago when I first set foot back here in Woodhill, that I would one day spend an entire afternoon sitting on a picnic blanket surrounded by wolves, hockey players, my mate, and my terrifyingly affectionate in-laws, I probably would have laughed in their face.Yet here I was… Really living it.The sun was warm against my skin, the grass soft beneath my legs, and Johanis was lying beside me with his head in my lap. His eyes were closed. His hair was a complete mess. And he looked ridiculously comfortable.I ran my fingers through it anyway. His eyes cracked open. “You’re staring.”I gruffed. “I’m not.”“You've been playing with my hair for ten minutes.” He smirked and somehow I got annoyed and scoffed at him. “That doesn't mean I’m staring!’He smiled lazily. “You're obsessed with me.”I rolled my eyes. “Unfortunately.”His grin widened. “I love you too.”I pinched his cheek. “Ow.”“You deserved that.”“I did nothing!”“You were being annoying, Joha

  • Saved, Then Rejected by my Ice Hockey Mate    119 - Hearts Apart, Still Connected

Aya’s POVIt had been a whole week since Lily left..And somehow, the pack mansion still felt wrong. It was too quiet and empty. I hadn't realized how much noise Lily brought into a room until she wasn't there anymore. She used to laugh loudly.. Argue loudly. Walk into rooms without knocking. Steal food from other people's plates and then act offended when they complained. Now her chair remained empty. Her room was untouched. And every time I passed the hallway leading toward it, my chest tightened.I hadn't even gotten to say goodbye.. That was the part that hurt the most.I knew why she had left. I understood why she had to go.Brinn was her mate. Her dreams had given her a clue. Redburg might hold the answers to her mark, her curse, and perhaps even what happened to Brinn and Sari. I wanna know what happened to my friends too.I understood all of that. But understanding didn't make it hurt any less.I sat on the couch, staring at the cup of tea in my hands. It had gone cold. Again.

  • Saved, Then Rejected by my Ice Hockey Mate    118 - Chasing Shadows

Johanis’ POVI should've known something was wrong the moment Lily asked me to meet her alone. Not because she looked scared. Lily Martin rarely looked scared. But instead, she looked determined.Which, honestly, was worse.I stood in the doorway of her room, arms crossed over my chest as I watched her shove another shirt into an already overflowing bag. “Where are you going?”She didn't look at me. “Out.”“That's not an answer.”“It is technically an answer.”“Lily..”She sighed and finally turned around. “I’m going to find Brinn.”My entire body went still. “No.”She blinked. I didn't even give myself time to think about it. “No.”Her eyebrows rose. “You didn't even ask where.”“I don't need to.”“Joha—”“No.”She stared at me for a few seconds. Then she crossed her arms. “You're being dramatic.”“You're packing a bag to go find someone who disappeared years ago.”“I know.”“Someone who could be dead.”She paused and I could only wince and want to smack myself as she closed her eyes

  • Saved, Then Rejected by my Ice Hockey Mate    117 - Caps, Pucks and Promises

Aya’s POVFive months later…If someone had told me seven or eight months ago that I would be standing in a graduation gown inside Woodhill University's grand hall, surrounded by people I had once been terrified of losing, I probably would've laughed in their face.Yet here I was.Graduating.It is just so funny that somehow I made it…I looked down at the dark fabric of my gown and tugged at the sleeves. “Does this look crooked?”Johanis glanced at me. “No, love.”“You answered too quickly.”He looked at me with those soft eyes of his.“Because it isn't crooked.”I narrowed my eyes and then he just smiled. “It looks perfect.”My cheeks warmed. “You're only saying that because you're my mate.”“I'm saying it because you're beautiful.”“Johanis..”“What?”“We're in a crowded hallway!” I grumbled but he merely shrugged. “So?”I looked around. Students were everywhere, rushing toward the graduation hall. Some were taking pictures. Others were fixing their gowns, adjusting their caps, or f
