Chapter 46

I made sure Annie had left for the dining room before I made my move. Earlier, I heard her talking to Isabella. She wanted late night snacks as she would be staying up at Julian's private library to read her script. I waited calmly until the coast was clear before I went to the library. The script was right there and I checked through it right away. I checked the wall clock again, I had only twenty minutes for this.

The parts which Annie would be reading tonight weren't many. I wondered why she wanted to stay up for that. There was only one explanation, she was excited and wanted to feel like she was working hard for it. I tore off the two pages and scanned it instantly. From there, I edited her own lines so that she would read the wrong thing. The thought of how embarrassed she would be tomorrow gladdened my heart. I printed out the edited document and slipped it in her script in place of the part I tore off.

Mission complete.
