Scarlett: The Rejected Omega

It's a beautiful snowy evening in Sunshine pack, Florida, the moonlight illuminates a tranquil white scene as the night is quiet and serene, with fluffy snowflakes blanketing the ground.

The breeze in the air kisses my face causing my dark brown hair to dance in its touch. My golden eyes glowed in the dark, and I was enjoying every part of the night.

I was sitting on a bench placed at the front of the house dreaming and hoping that one day, I would finally meet my mate although, it seems like a hopeless dream as I am still unmated at the age of 18.

My name is Scarlett Watson, and I am an Omega werewolf. I am an orphan who lost my parents at the age of 5 after our pack was attacked. I am being taken care of by the whole park as my parents were known for being responsible and useful to the park while they were alive. Even though they were Omegas, they still proved themselves worthy. 

 

After being rejected and humiliated by my first mate, Boris, for reasons unknown to me( I guess it's because I am an Omega werewolf) at the age of 16, I have been sad and feel isolated but all I hope for is that the Moon goddess grants me a second chance mate, but that dream seems hopeless.

It's been two years now but I can still remember vividly how happy I was the day I met my first mate. The day I had anticipated my whole life had come, I felt as if the adrenaline in my body was rushing at once, and my heart was about to explode. Finally, I have someone I can call mine.

It was a great evening, I was wandering around in the forest( I love doing this, it's a werewolf thing since werewolves are nocturnal beings) until I perceived a strong smell drawing my attention, and I kept following the scent until I got to a place that was filled with the Betas werewolf but I felt that there is a scent stronger than that of others. I followed the scent closely until I saw a man who was huge, well-built with abs, tall and handsome. He is everything a female werewolf could ask for. I rejoiced in my heart because he is everything I imagined him to be. He looked so perfect. 

 

After our eyes met, and he finally got to know that I was his mate, he looked with disapproving eyes, and said, I, Boris, reject you as my mate. My joy melted like snow, and I felt as if my joints were going to disjoint, it was as if my heart was pierced with thousands of knives all at once, my hands went numb, and my head felt like it would explode at any moment because of different thoughts that were running in my head at the same time, and it was like the blood in my body drained at once due to shock. I sensed the feeling of death. Being rejected by your mate is just like you were given a death sentence. 

It's almost another full moon night. The full moon is a night in which all the werewolves will wolf out, that is, changing from the humanoid form to the wolf form, and the moon goddess appears to bless us. I have been expecting this moment because I sense something different about the full moon.

 The full moon night finally came, the people who anticipated this night were the young werewolves of the age range of 11-14 years old who had never wolf out( werewolves wolf out at first between these age ranges but there are some exceptions), and most of them hoped that they would wolf out on that night. The night came, and everyone started changing forms from humanoid wolf-like forms. The first change you would experience comes with a lot of pain but as time goes on, the pain felt will be reduced, and it seems easier to change. So it was easier for me since it's not the first time I changed into my werewolf form. In my werewolf form, my eyes glowed with fierce intensity, and my body bulged with powerful muscles but my body felt weary and weak because of the sadness filled in my heart.

Everyone ran to the pack center, waiting for the moon goddess, then all of a sudden, the moon rose majestically and gracefully from the horizon, illuminating the ground below with a gentle glow. The Moon goddess appeared radiating like the moon, her yellow eyes glowed with affection towards everyone, and she walked with elegance, then a chair appeared from nowhere, and she sat comfortably on the chair. She looked around as if she was reading each and everyone's mind, then after sitting for a while, she began to speak,

"It's a pleasure seeing you all once again in another full moon. I have come to deliver gifts, wisdom, and healing grace to you. Rejoice, for your hope has come. I have come with a lot of blessings. Ask for your wish, and I am sure to grant them all at the due time."

I cried in my heart, hoping that the Moon goddess would hear me and grant my wish for a second chance mate. Then I heard a voice that whispered, saying, "your wish is granted". At first, I thought I was hallucinating until I heard the voice clearly saying, don't doubt, the voice that you hear is mine, the moon goddess, and I have granted your request. You will meet him soon. 

I was delighted and felt that that long-lost happiness is back again. I wondered who my second chance mate could be. Is he an alpha? Is he a beta? Or an omega? Or he doesn't belong to this pack? These thoughts kept pestering me. The goddess told me I will find my mate soon but she didn't specify how and when I am happy that I  finally have a second chance mate.
