Chapter Thirty Four

Myla’s POV

I couldn’t understand, why didn’t Doc and Reiner just tell me the truth? I wasn’t going to break. I am a different person than the scared little girl who stopped talking for a year. When Reiner explained he had been tricked too. I wanted to find those responsible and rip out their throats.

It hit me like a ton of bricks. The little girl I had grown to love is mine, she is my flesh and blood, born from something stolen from me. I would never blame Evie. She is the most innocent one in all of this. I suddenly needed to hold her, to tell her who I really am. She was chasing birds. I took off running to her. I scooped her up and held her to me. I could feel her heartbeat against my chest. My little girl. The little girl stolen from me. I was tortured for her to live. At that moment, I knew it didn’t matter. She is mine. “I love you my little Evie.”
