Chapter Thirty Six

Reiner's POV

I looked through the council records to find a list of allies. The only way the packs would agree to a council is with total transparency. All council records were accessible by all the Alphas. The members of the council could only serve for 2 consecutive years. If no one ran for a seat that was becoming vacant, it would simply sit empty. The Alpha Summit was put in place for the Alphas of all the packs to be able to discuss issues with land or borders, problems between packs, attacks, or threats.

I looked at the clock. It was nearly 6. The banquet starts at seven. I stretched, pushing back in the chair, I stood up to wake up Myla. I opened the door to find she was awake.

“Hey, would you grab my dress from the closet?”

She sounded tired. I couldn’t blame her. She had been through a lot recently. I went to the closet to get it. “Which one is for tonight?”

“The black one, with the long sleeves.”
