Chapter 6 - Hockey Captain

She tugged Zyd's collar and gave him a silent kiss before he could finish what he was about to say. He was taken aback by what she did. They remained that way for minutes.

"Fuck we lost her!"

God!

She finally let out a breath. She was quietly relieved when those jerks disappeared, but she quickly realized it was Zyd Caiden McCluskey, whom she had just kissed right now. 'Omg! The what I did?'

Why did she do it? Why, of all people, did she run into this man again? How can she get out of here?

"Nice strategy. You are going with me to the police station." He drove the car quickly.

Wait, what?

"Hey, hey, I'm not a thief! I was being robbed, and someone was trying to harm me, so I ended up hiding myself inside your car," she explained. This is so annoying.

"Who are you fooling with?" he asked, simply staring at her and making it clear he didn't buy what she was saying. "Whether you like it or not, you will go with me."

Crap! Does she look like a thief? She could do nothing when the car ran fast on the wide road. She clinched her teeth, knowing that all she could do was wait until they got to the police station so she could go home. Why is she so unlucky? This is so unfair.

She was grateful that the Filipino police officer who approached them trusted her, even though she had no identification to provide. In the ending, aside from the fans who wanted Zyd's autographs, they also wanted pictures and fan signs of him. She did nothing but wait for them to finish. She had no idea how famous this man was. Well, he’s a hockey captain, girl!

Her brain retorted.

She was waiting for Zyd to say she could leave because it was already midnight. And her cousin Sheena was probably worried about her.

"Can I go now?" Her brow furrowed at him.

"Damn!" The man takes out his wallet and pulls out cash. He quickly handed her the money and instructed her to take a cab, but she refused right away.

She still has her pride, and if she accepts his money, she will look like a thief. What did he think about her? Poor? She rolled her eyes at him.

"Grab it, woman," Zyd said, shoving the money in her hoodie pocket, and before she could give it back, he hurriedly got in his car and sped away.

She stamped her feet in frustration, but she still accepted it; she had no choice after all. But for the time being, she will use it to pay for her bus fare, and she will just return the money to him tomorrow. She'll simply ask her customers, who are also hockey players, and give them the money, asking them to give it to Zyd. That's it!

She will give back the whole amount! Why is she having such bad luck today? Perhaps she was a nasty person in a previous life.

That evening, she made it safely home. Sheena jumped on her right away and gave her a hug that made her seem like she had been gone for a very long time.

"Are you going to kill me?"

"Hey, girl! We're worried about you. I made mum sleep in her room already, though she's worried! I was afraid something horrible would happen to you," her cousin, who was wearing a green face mask, stated.

She just smirked before lying down on the bed. "I was robbed. Sorry, I made you worry."

"Oh my god! What happened? Why didn't you contact us in the phone booth? Did you walk? Did someone hurt you?"

She rolls her eyes and throws a pillow at her. "You're being ridiculous!"

"Sorry... What happened?"

She narrated the entire incident, and Sheena was dying as a result of the romantic thrill of her story. Even worse, she hit the pillow at her and grabbed her hair. Is Sheena planning to murder her?

"I'm so thrilled about what happened to you! Lianne Elhouette, how can I be ugly like you?" Even though it was now past midnight, Sheena burst out laughing.

She signals for her to be quiet quickly. She rolled her eyes, "You really enjoy saying my full name, don't you?"

The other day, she went to work at the coffee shop, hoping that nobody would bother her that day. She didn't want to have bad luck today, but her coworker welcomed her that morning and began to tease her. They came to her, pinched her stomach, and continued to tease her. Hera and Trixie recalled her embarrassment when she tripped outside. She only frowned at them and marched straight to her station. If those two had only known what happened to her last night, they may be shivering right now.

Because they still don't have customers and it is too rare for someone to cross over, they cleaned the shop first.

"Isn't she Captain Zyd's fiancee? God! She is absolutely stunning."

Trixie, who was drooling over Zyd's fiancée on television, caught her eye. Yes, she saw that woman before in the park. Her curves are in the perfect places, and she is a stunning woman. Anyway, she's like a goddess. She then looked away and didn't give a damn.

Then! She was stunning, yes, but her guy was a mess! Huh!

"I admired their love story. They were high school sweethearts, and their relationship is so perfect. Honestly, I want something like that too, but it is so difficult to find a man just like him." Hera spoke dreamily while holding the dustbin.

Lianne just shrugged her shoulders, took a clean cloth, and began wiping the glass door. She was in the middle of cleaning the glass door when Henrik unexpectedly stepped in front of her. She almost screams out of shock, and the guy lets out a chuckle because of her reaction. What is this man doing at this hour in the coffee shop? It's too early, the cleaning isn't done yet.

She pointed to the door where the sign that read "We're close" was hanging. He simply nodded, shrugged his shoulders, and sat on the bench outside while playing with his phone. She just ignored him and continued what she was doing until they were done cleaning, while Henrik remained seated and waiting till the shop opened.

While Trixie and Hera were thrilled like worms in salt. They even use sign language to tell her to approach the man and date him right away. As if I'm going to do that? That's not going to happen! She rolled her eyes and changed the sign on the door to 'We're now open'.

"Hey ladies, good morning!" He greeted them, but his eyes were glued on her.
