The drive back to the Silverwood territory was a blur of humiliation and rage for Kaelen. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw Sierra’s silver gaze and the way Elias’s hand had rested so naturally on her hip.

As he pulled up to the ancestral pack house, the very place he had kicked Sierra out of five years ago, the front doors burst open.

"Kaelen! Finally!"

Camille, his current Luna, marched down the steps. She was dressed in designer silk that the pack could no longer afford.

"Did you get the money? The decorator for the Summer Solstice gala is demanding a deposit, and I refuse to be embarrassed in front of the Northern Alphas".

Kaelen stepped out of the car, his movements stiff. He looked at Camille, the woman he had chosen over his true mate, and for the first time, all he saw was a shallow stranger.

"The gala is canceled, Camille,"

Kaelen said, his voice hollow.

Camille stopped mid-stride, her face contorting.

"Canceled? Don't be ridiculous. You went to see that pathetic Miller Global CEO. Surely a human woman was easy enough to manipulate".

"She isn't a human, Camille,"

Kaelen growled, his wolf pushing to the surface.

"And she isn't pathetic. She’s Sierra."

The color drained from Camille’s face. "Sierra? That Omega died in the woods years ago. I made sure she…" She bit her tongue, but it was too late.

"You made sure of what?" Kaelen stepped into her space, his Alpha aura flaring.

"You told me she left because she was ashamed of her 'weakness.' You told me there were no pups".

"I... I meant I made sure she was settled before she left!" Camille stammered, her voice reaching a pitch that set Kaelen’s wolf on edge.

Kaelen didn't believe her. He brushed past her, heading straight for the Alpha’s private study, a room Camille had spent a lot of time "organizing" over the last five years. He began tearing through the drawers, driven by a gut feeling that had been suppressed for too long.

"Kaelen, stop! You're being irrational because of some corporate woman who looks like your dead mate!" Camille shouted, trying to grab his arm.

He shoved a heavy mahogany desk aside, revealing a loose floorboard he hadn't noticed before. He ripped it up.

Inside was a bundle of envelopes, yellowed and smelling of the damp basement, but the handwriting was unmistakable. It was Sierra's elegant, loopy script.

He opened the top one. It was dated one month after her disappearance.

“Kaelen, the doctor confirmed it today. It’s not one. It’s three. Please, I’m scared and the rogue hunters are close. I’m at the old mill. Please come for us.”

Kaelen’s vision went red. He had stayed in his mansion, drinking himself into a stupor because Camille told him Sierra had run off with a rogue, while Sierra had been hiding in a cold mill, pregnant with his three heirs, begging for a protection that never came.

"You told me there were no letters," Kaelen whispered, the sound more terrifying than a roar.

"I did it for the pack!" Camille screamed, backing away as his Alpha pressure began to crush the air in the room.

"She was an Omega! She would have made us look weak! I gave you a real legacy!”

Kaelen’s fist connected with the mahogany desk, snapping the wood like kindling. The letters, the proof of five years of stolen life, scattered across the floor like autumn leaves.

"You let them starve," Kaelen roared, his voice cracking with the weight of his own failure. "You let my children and my mate hide in a dirt-floor mill while you picked out silk curtains!".

Camille didn’t plead for mercy. Seeing the game was up, her face hardened into a mask of pure malice.

"And look at her now, Kaelen! She doesn't need you. She’s a 'Sovereign' with a Shadow Protector who looks at her like she’s a goddess. You think she’ll ever forgive you because of a few old letters?"

She let out a harsh, jagged laugh.

"You’re already dead to her. And soon, you’ll be a beggar on her doorstep."

"Guards!" Kaelen bellowed.

Two Enforcers burst into the room. They looked between their trembling Luna and their shattered Alpha.

"Take her to the high-security holding cells," Kaelen commanded, his eyes glowing a dangerous, unstable red. "Strip her of her title. She is no longer a member of the Silverwood Pack".

"You can't do this!" Camille screamed as the guards grabbed her arms. "The Council will hear about this! My father won't let you throw me in a cage!"

As they dragged her out, Kaelen sank into his chair, clutching the top letter to his chest. He had the money now, the loan from Sierra was in his account, but he realized with a sinking horror that the "fine print" Sierra mentioned wasn't just about the land.

She didn't want the money back. She wanted him to watch as she took everything he had ever valued, piece by piece.

The Silverwood Pack house, once a symbol of Alpha Kaelen Vane’s absolute power, now felt like a tomb. The air was thick with the suffocating scent of ozone and the metallic tang of fear. The Council had arrived, and they didn't come to talk; they came to collect. In the center of the grand hall sat Elder Thorne. He looked more like a vulture than a wolf, draped in heavy furs that smelled of ancient dust and centuries-old secrets. Beside him, two Council Enforcers stood like statues, their silver-tipped spears humming, a low-frequency vibration that made every wolf in the building feel like their skin was crawling."You look pathetic, Kaelen," Thorne said, his voice grating like sandpaper over bone. He looked around at the peeling wallpaper and the dimmed chandeliers, the signs of a pack that had been bleeding dry for five years. "We heard rumors that your 'dead' mate has returned. A billionaire, they say. We also heard she brought back more than just money".Kaelen sat in his thr

The private elevator ride was silent, but the air between Sierra and Elias was charged with a heat that Kaelen Vane could never understand. As the doors slid open to the underground parking garage, Elias didn't step away. He kept his hand firmly on the small of Sierra's back, a silent reminder that he was her anchor."You handled him well, Luna," Elias murmured, his voice echoing in the concrete space. "But the look in his eyes... he’s desperate. Desperate Alphas do dangerous things."Sierra stopped at the side of her matte-black SUV. She turned to Elias, the silver in her eyes glowing with a predatory light. "Let him be desperate. I want him to feel the walls closing in. I want him to look at Camille and realize he traded a Diamond for a pebble"."And the triplets?" Elias asked, his tone softening. "Leo already knows. He scented Kaelen. The boy is too smart for his own good."Sierra’s heart tightened. This was the "Triple Regret" she hadn't prepared for, the moment her children reali

The silence in the boardroom was suffocating. Kaelen’s wolf was howling at the back of his mind, confused by the scent of Sierra, a mix of power, expensive perfume, and something ancient he couldn't name."You saw the nursery, Kaelen," Sierra said, her voice like cracking ice. "But you chose to walk away. You chose your 'Luna' and your status over the life we started".Before Kaelen could find his voice, the heavy office doors creaked open."Mommy? Elias said we could show you our drawings!"The air left Kaelen’s lungs. Three small figures stood in the doorway, held back gently by a nanny. They were five years old, radiating an aura of authority that no child should possess. The boy in the middle stepped forward, his little chin tilted high, a perfect mirror of Kaelen’s own stubborn pride. But as the boy looked at the stranger in the room, his eyes shifted. They weren't brown like Kaelen’s; they flashed a brilliant, royal silver.Kaelen fell back against the conference table, his hear

The penthouse was silent, save for the hum of the climate control system and the distant sirens of the city below. I sat at my vanity, the glowing screen of my phone reflecting in the mirror. The grainy photo of my younger, broken self stared back at me. “See you soon, Luna.” The title sent a shiver of pure dread down my spine. In the werewolf world, "Luna" wasn't just a rank; it was a biological bond to a pack’s soul. But I was rejected. I was a rogue. No one should be calling me that, unless they knew something about my lineage that even I didn't. "Marcus," I said into my intercom, my voice steady despite the thundering of my heart. "I need a digital footprint trace on an encrypted email. Now. Use the private servers in Switzerland." "On it, Sierra," his voice crackled back. "Is everything okay?" "Just... a ghost from the past trying to rattle my cage," I lied. I walked over to the children’s room and pushed the door open an inch. They were sprawled out across their beds, exha

The heavy mahogany doors of the conference room swung shut behind Kaelen and Elena, but the air in the hallway was no less stifling. My heart was hammered against my ribs, a wild, rhythmic thrumming that I hadn't felt in five years. I had won. I had forced him to sign away his pride. So why did I feel like I was the one suffocating?"Marcus, clear my schedule for the next hour," I said, my voice barely a whisper. "I need air."I headed for the private elevator bank, but as the silver doors began to slide shut, a large, calloused hand jammed between them. The sensors hissed, and the doors retreated.Kaelen stepped inside. Alone. He didn't say a word as the doors closed again, sealing us in the vibrating glass cube. The scent of him, cedarwood, rain, and that undeniable Alpha musk, filled the small space instantly. My wolf, the traitorous beast, let out a soft whine of recognition."Get out, Kaelen," I said, staring straight at the digital floor indicator. 45... 44... 43..."Who was tha
