???'s POV

"What Lucinda didn't know was that she was carrying twins," Magdalena declared. "So with my trusty staff and some of my fairy blood, I helped Lucinda. She fed on my blood for three days until she became stronger. Soon I realized that her DNA and the babies' were now infused with fairy blood. A day after that. Lucinda left. I promised her I would be there when she gave birth, but the dark witches attacked because the twins came early."

"But how did you escape? I saw you and Harper's body. I buried you," Isis said.

"Well, after the queen and I made the agreement, she offered me a potion that I should take just in case of trouble. So after I gave birth and the dark witches attacked, I fought until I was tired. When I couldn't go anymore, I dropped a few droplets of the elixir in Harper's mouth, and then I drank the rest. It stopped our heart rates for a while. Isis didn't know, she thought we died and I knew she would ensure Hazel and James were safe."

"I remember that part. I

  • THE ALPHA'S DESTINY (THE PROPHECY)   BOOK 2: CHAPTER 115: HEADACHES

HAZEL'S POVWe were all just standing around, doing absolutely nothing, while waiting for Zander and the others to come back, and somehow that nothing turned into chaos anyway. Carson was busy being Carson, which meant he had planted himself directly in front of the fairy queen and was asking her a never-ending string of deeply inappropriate, wildly invasive, and completely unnecessary questions, most of which made no sense even by his standards. I tried to tune him out, because if I focused on my beta for even one more second, I was going to lose what little patience I had left.Instead, I focused on the feeling sitting heavy in the pit of my stomach, because something about this whole plan felt off. Everyone else seemed convinced it would work out just fine, but my instincts were screaming at me that we were missing something important, and I hated that feeling more than anything.Cedella was humming a soft tune while gently coaxing Tia into grabbing some sleep, her voice steady and

ZANDER'S POVI didn't hesitate. "Guards," I said, turning sharply. "Are you sure we're in the right place?"No one answered. The space behind us was empty. The guards were gone, and I hadn't even heard them retreat. We had been so lost in the beauty of this place that they slipped away without any of us noticing.A cold knot settled deep in my gut."Right," Dimitri said dryly. "Of course this was all a trick."I stepped closer to Isis. "Can you break the illusion?"Her jaw tightened. "It's not just an illusion, Zander. This place is alive, and it's feeding."James frowned. "Feeding on what?""On us," she replied grimly. The Dome pulsed as the walls subtly drew inward, the movement so slow it could have been missed if we weren't watching for it. Above us, the constellations shifted, their light dimming as shadows stretched unnaturally long."Okay," James said, squaring his shoulders. "We have to leave. Now."We turned and walked straight into the same path we had just come from."Fuck!

ZANDER'S POV"Are you sure this is the way to the Euphoric Dome?" James asked the guards, who kept eyeing each other every few seconds as they led us down hallway after hallway and through doors stacked on top of doors. By now, you would have thought we'd be there already."My balls are itchy, and I really need to shower," Dimitri complained."We're almost there, don't worry," the taller guard answered, but my wolf's ears perked as we picked up on the uncertainty in his voice.I was about to snarl at him when a bright light caught my eye at the end of the corridor. We stepped out into the open, only to realize we had entered some kind of oval containment. My eyes watched as the corridor we had just stepped from disappeared completely."Is that normal?" James asked, but the guards only cleared their throats and ignored his question. "This place is beautiful, though," he added, his gaze drifting across everything around us as he quickly forgot about the vanishing hallway. The structure

  • THE ALPHA'S DESTINY (THE PROPHECY)   BOOK 2: CHAPTER 112: ALFONSO

???'s POVAlfonso led the group through the secret underground passageway beneath the castle. The air suddenly gained a musty, damp smell, the smell of death and decay. Nobody spoke until they reached a grey door hidden in the wall. "This is it, the entrance to the library," Alfonso whispered."And you're certain no one will be in there?" Alpha Zander double-checked. He replayed the plan over and over in his head, but something didn't feel right in the pit of his stomach. "Yes, I'm sure. Prince Magnus or his guards never come here. They stay in the North and West wings of the castle." Alfonso exhaled as he pressed the indentation in the wall and the door quietly slid open. "Let's go, but be quiet."Declan was the first person who try to enter through the door. Zander yanked him back by his collar. "Where the fuck do you think you're going?""I cannot stay behind Alpha. Maddox and I will go mad if we don't go to her.""Declan, you can't go," Lucinda warned. "But she's my mate," he y

  • THE ALPHA'S DESTINY (THE PROPHECY)   BOOK 2: CHAPTER 110: PROTECTIVE COCOON

???'s POV"Blink! Blink!" Alpha Zander tried to coax himself. He still seemed to believe his ears had deceived him. Did the queen just say Hazel was with child? He asked himself and his wolf, Gidian answered. "That is undoubtedly what she said. Not that it's impossible, but how come we can't smell our pup inside her?"Zander's fingers stroked the side of his Luna's face, who wasn't moving an inch. "I don't know, but I think Lucinda knows why," Zander replied telepathically to his wolf. The way how Lucinda was staring told him she had some idea of what was going on. Currently, he didn't know what to make of the situation. The other werewolves were thinking the same. Confusion, excitement, and concern were only a few emotions that were swirling around in the air. And also staining the air with an enormous punch was fear. Fear of what this may mean for Luna Hazel. James remembered the first time he smelt his son growing inside Sue-Ling, the she-wolf he was set to marry. A wave of guil
