"Look, Adrian, she's coming in a couple of hours, so you're just going to have to get used to the idea of her living with us for a few months," Isolde exclaimed at her fiance. The latter male was beyond hell-bent on not letting her best friend come to live with the two of them during their wedding preparations.
"Baby, I can do a week. Hell, I'll compromise and do two, but six whole months? No fucking way." Adrian retaliated, refusing to back down this time.
"She's coming to help with our wedding, Adrian."
"No wedding should take six whole months to prepare." He mumbled under his breath, frustrated as he became aware that this was yet another battle with Isolde that he would be losing. He'd felt second best in Isolde life most of the time, but when it came to Aria, he knew he was absolutely second best.
"It does if it's going to be nearly as amazing as ours." She chuckled, gently leaning down and pecking his lips, her fiery red locks tumbling down against Adrian's cheeks as she did so.
"When does she get here?" He sighed, knowing that he would have to tolerate Aria's every whim if he was going to marry the love of his life. It was literally buy one, get one free with these two.
"At six, oh, and babe, you're going to have to collect her from the airport because I'm working 'til late today." She responded casually as she continued ironing her flimsy white blouse for work.
"Oh, you've got to be kidding me now," he grunted as he let his body fall back onto the bed, causing it to creak beneath his weight. He had a total of eight hours to prepare himself for Aria mentally.
He'd last seen her nearly four years ago when they were all eighteen, and she was still the most obnoxious girl he'd ever met with her extreme sense of self-righteousness.
Isolde laughed as she climbed over his body, planting kisses along his neck before hungrily meeting his naturally cardinal-coloured lips that should've been illegal on a member of the male specimen. She quickly allowed her lips to become re-acquainted with his all over again as the two engaged in an intense make-out session.
His hands found their way from her lean and well-sculptured thighs down to her ass and tightly cupped it with his large hands.
He gradually brought his body off the bed, carrying Isolde weight with him before nearly ripping the carefully pressed blouse away from her body.
Adrian and Isolde had first begun dating at the tender age of fifteen. Now, seven years later, at twenty-two, you'd think the spark would have long since dissipated. But for Isolde, every kiss was still filled with overwhelming emotion and undying longing for each other, as had been the case all those years ago when the two had first clapped eyes on each other.
"I can't do this right now, babe; I've got to get to work." She reluctantly pulled away from the kiss, quickly adjusting her shirt, so she didn't look like she had just had a quickie. Isolde felt her cheeks fill with blood at the faint memory of the last time she and Adrian had been at it in her work restroom and how she'd attended an oh-so-important meeting straight after; her lipstick smudged for obvious reasons and her shirt buttoned up all wrong. In a later uncomfortably awkward encounter with the boss, she'd been warned not to let it happen again if she wanted to keep her job.
Adrian groaned loudly. "So, you expect me to put up with the wicked bitch of the west herself, and I don't even get anything for it, either?" He inquired, mocking the pouty face that Isolde had completely mastered and would always pull when she wanted something from Adrian.
"Hey, don't call her that." She let her hand bounce against his chest playfully whilst finishing buttoning up the few buttons Adrian had managed to open. Correctly this time.
"I know she's your best friend, and you love her, but you're lying if you think she's not the biggest bitch on the planet. And even that is an insult to bitches everywhere."
"Okay, maybe she's been a little difficult in the past, but I think she'll surprise you this time. When I went to see her in Ireland last year, she was a completely changed person."
"Oh really? Because last I heard, she had a new man trapped in her web." Adrian laughed. He knew for a fact that that girl would never change. She had been a complete man-eater in college, never quite content with one man for too long.
Whilst Adrian and Isolde had remained completely monogamous for the past seven years; Aria had changed her man every couple of months. And on more than one occasion, they had been taken men.
If Britney's 'Womanizer were re-made into a female version, it would undoubtedly be describing Aria.
Isolde hated talking to Adrian about Aria, almost as much as she hated talking to Aria about Adrian. "Aria is...confused with what she wants in life; that's all, but it doesn't mean she's a bad person. She's always been there for me. Cut her some slack, please?" She pursued her lips.
She couldn't ever pick between the two, for they both had been constants in her life. Her love for both of them was endless and equal. And, she would've loved more than anything for them to get along over these next few months.
"I've got to go to work now, babe. I'll see you later. Love you." Isolde stood at the doorway, taking in the perfect view that was Adrian's face. A face framed by warm, dark chocolate curls constantly falling onto his forehead, especially when he furrowed his straight brows in a frown. His skin was slightly olive-toned and matched perfectly with his marble-brown eyes.
The two shared another kiss before Isolde finally departed.
According to Isolde, Aria's plane landed at four forty-five. It was now six.
Adrian stood waiting at the airport terminal twelve as Isolde had texted him.
Just at that moment, Adrian felt a gentle tap on his shoulder. He spun around to find a glamorous young woman a good seven inches or so below him.
Aria had light brown hair, the colour of whiskey on ice. Which was a fitting description since one night with Aria was enough to find yourself intoxicated. The very colour of falling leaves bred with the autumn's first and last rains.
She was wearing what Adrian may have termed a crop top, except it was much too short. Her cleavage was exposed to full view, leaving little left to the imagination, and Adrian, a red-blooded male, couldn't help his wandering eyes becoming fixated upon her chest.
She was wearing tight black leggings, which did everything to compliment her slender legs. And as she twirled around to pick up her tiny pink suitcase, Adrian noticed how accentuated and, quite frankly, huge her back assets were, causing him to choke nearly.
This is not Aria, certainly not the Aria i remember. It can't be.
"Adrian? I'm right here." She waved her hands close to his face, noticing how his eyes remained on her cleavage rather than meeting her eyes.
"Aria?" It was her. The voice just didn't match the appearance anymore.
Her voice had always been high-pitched and distinctive as far back as Adrian could remember. It matched perfectly with her annoying persona at seventeen, but now at twenty-two, it only added to her ever-growing femininity. Adrian couldn't help but find himself contrasting Aria's alluring voice with Isolde's much raspier voice.
"Yes, obvs. Don't you recognise me?" She lifted the RayBans from her eyes, perching them on the top of her head, next to a top-knot bun which had taken hours to perfect. She grinned at him, the dimples on either side of her mouth forming indents in each cheek, ten times deeper than he could remember. Surprisingly, her nose and ear had been pierced and looked good on her nose, which had always been slightly large for her chubby face.
She astonished him further by jumping and engulfing him in her arms. He groaned audibly as he could feel her well-endowed chest pressing up against his hard chest, and from the back, he was offered a perfect view of her ass.
Please, Lord, save me from this vixen's spell.
He shook his head, noticing his increasing arousal. Hey, he was a man after all, and Isolde had left him with a severe case of blue balls that morning, which still had not been attended to.
"Well, aren't you the cutest, proposing to my best friend and making her all happy and shit?" Aria said, somewhat sarcastically, before squeezing his cheeks tightly as she had made a habit throughout high school.
Oh, there she is. The annoying little Aria I know from high school.
When you really think about it, you realise how funny life actually is as a concept. All of us are living our own versions of life, but how many of us actually want to be here? How many of us have an actual purpose to keep on living?Marcus did. Marcus wanted to be here. Marcus had a purpose to keep going on every single day. He was a good son, a great brother, an amazing lover, and the best friend anyone could've hoped for. Yet, out of everyone, his death had been written first.Aria struggled to come to terms with the fact that her older brother, her inspiration and her only remaining hope had left her. What hurt the most was perhaps the fact that she was the cause. One poor decision she'd made had cost her brother his life, and she'd have to live with that mere fact for the rest of her own pathetic life. Except, now there was no reason for her to keep going on, was there?Adrian was riddled with guilt, too. Hours before the funeral had taken place
The car zoomed towards the Hotel. The black-suited person jumped back slightly in shock, turning their head as they did so. No face was visible, but the tiny wisps of curled chocolate hair came into view. And both Aria and Matteo only had one word on their lips as his body was flung over the car hood. Adrian. Adrian. Adrian. Seconds seemed to blur into hours as Matteo and Aria remained seated in the car, the body no longer in view as the car had driven uncontrollably fast, leaving the body located somewhere behind the car's rear. Aria could feel the tiny spits of perspiration forming on her skin, leaving her hands clammy to the touch. She refused to turn to face Matteo, but also she refused to get out of the car, for she didn't wish to confirm what she already thought to be true. Only a few people had witnessed the dreadful accident, and those who were there had rushed to the crime scene, whereas those who were dancing the night away in the hall remained completely oblivious to
Aria scuttled into the female toilets after her horrific yet bizarre encounter with Celia only minutes before. She apprehensively rushed through the swarms of guests in the hall, struggling to contain her emotions. Through her peripheral vision, she noticed Adrian making his way towards her, but she immediately quickened her pace and continued rushing towards the opposite direction. The thoughts of what they'd been up to only half an hour ago suddenly seemed abhorrent to her, and she felt dirty as the memories washed over her.She entered the tiny bathroom and was welcomed by a sallow-looking Isolde gazing at herself in the mirror. Isolde gyrated her body towards her friend as soon as she heard the door open."Oh my god, what happened to your hair?" Isolde gasped, hands flying towards her mouth in response to Aria’s messy mane. Aria was forced to remember the impact on her skull as the strands of hair had been forcefully wrenched out by the turbulent force that had been Celia."Nothin
"Adrian is having an affair. He's been cheating on you for months!" Marcus blurted out quickly. In that moment, Isolde could've sworn her heart stopped beating, the oxygen stopped entering her lungs, and she, herself, stopped being. She felt void from the inside out. As desolate as the current state of her womb. "What? Wh-what the hell are you saying, Marcus?" Her voice emerged as rough, jagged breaths. "I'm so sorry, Isolde...I know I should've said something earlier, but..." He stopped in his tracks as she held her hand up, indicating for him to stop. He noticed the colour drain from her already pasty pale skin. "How? How...How can this even be true?!" She continued, her gaze drifting down to the floor beneath her. But suddenly she glanced back up towards Marcus, her stare suddenly much more accusing. "This is one of your jokes, isn't it? You've said some stupid things, but this really isn't fun
" Thank you so much for the wine, Lucia and thanks for coming again. We are delighted tonight. Take a seat anywhere, make yourself comfortable and help yourself with the appetitizers" Isolde repeated that mantra for the thirty time that evening. Nearly every single guest had gifted her and Adrian a bottle of bubbly; she was sure they'd have just about enough alcoho to last them till they were well into their fifties. She couldn't help but beam at the mere thought. She and Adrian sprawled out on the couch, ragged and wrinkled, but their love for each other was still as youthful and pure as it was now. "Adrian!" Isolde called out for her fiancé over the roaring music. The night was still young, but the engagement party had been a success so far. The food was great, the company was great, and most of all – it was all about them. She and Adrian, swarms of people had been approaching her most of the evening, giving their well-wishes and blessings to the young couple. "Adrian!" Isolde c
"You coming back to Ma's is for the best, I promise. You'll see." Marcus was positioned directly behind Aria as she gazed at herself in the blurry mirror of her childhood bedroom. It was the morning of Isolde and Adrian’s engagement party. She heaved a sigh of relief as she finally finished outlining her pouty lips and ensured every strand of hair on her head was flowing down just above her waist in perfect waves. As she placed her lip pencil down, she realised how funny it was that people considered the eyes the gateway into the soul. Maybe that was true, but for her and Adrian, it had been the way their lips latched onto each other that had betrayed their bodies and given them insight into what lay buried within the two of them.Aria turned her head towards her older brother and nodded in agreement at his words. Everything would get better now. It had to, didn't it?She patted her hands against the material of her dress, making sur
""You are happy, aren't you, Adrian?" Isolde asked a rather quiet Adrian, who hadn't said much to her or to anyone at the party after her, or rather, her mother's announcement."It's not about being happy. I just wish you had at least waited to tell me before announcing it to all these random peop
"Another business trip?" Isolde quizzed her mother as the two prepared for the house party that would be taking place that night. "Darling, you know your father is a very busy man." Celeste smiled weakly, almost as though, by convincing her daughter of why her father was absent, she was working on
WARNING 18+The sound of music and screaming radiated all the way up to Adrian and Isolde's bedroom."Isolde, did you hear that?" Adrian immediately woke up and sat up in their bed, prodding Isolde gently on her shoulder. The only response heard from Isolde was some inarticulate moaning sounds befo
"Marcus, please go away." Aria groaned as she pulled the duvet cover over her head, and Marcus continued to tug it away from her grasp. The two were engaging in a game of tug of war over the duvet, and unfortunately for Aria, Marcus was evidently winning.Aria squeezed her eyes shut in response to
