Gabriel and Isla arrived at the site of the new city she had started building before she left. The car slowed to a stop, and before Isla could even ask questions, Gabriel made sure that the thin black cloth he tied over her eyes blocked her sight completely.

When the car door opened, Gabriel stepped out first and then carefully helped Isla down. He stayed close to her, his hand firm around hers, his other arm resting securely around her waist.

Six bodyguards stood around the area, spread out in a careful formation. Their eyes moved constantly, scanning the environment, checking every angle, every movement, making sure there was no threat nearby. The place was quiet, but their alertness never dropped.

“Easy,” Gabriel said softly as Isla took a step forward.

At that moment, Gabriel was her guide and her sight. His grip on her hand tightened slightly, and his arm around her waist became firmer. He was doing that so she doesn't trip or lose her balance, not even for a second.

“Auntie Isla, can I play with your babies?” Desmond asked, pouting deeply, his lips pushed forward in the way only a child could manage. His small hands were clasped together in front of him, his green eyes wide with hope as he looked up at Isla. Isla laughed softly. Sarah laughed too, shaking her head slowly. They were inside the nursery, a large and warm room filled with soft light and calm colors. The room smelled faintly of baby powder and clean linen. Isla sat comfortably on the nursing chair, her body relaxed. She had been breastfeeding the babies quietly. Two nannies stood nearby, each gently patting the backs of the baby boys so they could burp properly. Their movements were slow and they were careful and gentle. Isla had just finished feeding the twins. Now, she was feeding Elara. Elara was nestled close to Isla’s chest, her tiny fingers curled lightly against Isla’s skin. Her eyes were half closed, peaceful and calm. Desmond, however, was more interested in the baby

“I will need you to calm down, sir. Please trust me. We will handle this matter.” Stone’s voice was steady, but there was urgency beneath it. He stood close to Gabriel’s desk, watching him pace the large office like a restless man that had been provoked. Gabriel could not sit. He moved from one end of the office to the other, his long strides were too impatient. His fists clenched, then relaxed, then clenched again. His jaw was tight, his teeth grinding slightly as if he were holding back something dangerous. The message refused to leave his mind. Enjoy your win while it lasts. But get ready to lose your newborn. Every time the words replayed in his head, his chest tightened painfully. His breath grew heavier. His thoughts flew immediately to Isla. To the triplets. And to the fragile peace they had just found. Stone watched him closely. “Sir,” Stone said again, lowering his voice, “this is exactly what they want. They want you distracted. They want you to be angry and afraid.”

Taking care of three babies was not easy at all. It was not something Isla could describe with just words. It was tiring, demanding, and sometimes overwhelming. Even with the help of three nurses and three nannies, sleep became a luxury she hardly enjoyed. Her nights were broken into short moments of rest. Her days were filled with feeding, cleaning, rocking, and worrying. But as the days slowly passed, Isla began to adjust. Motherhood no longer felt strange or frightening. She was learning. She was adapting. She was beginning to understand her children in ways no one else could. She could tell which cry belonged to Aurelian, which one meant Sebastian was uncomfortable, and which soft sound came from Elara when she needed to be held. The nurses eventually left. The doctors were satisfied with the babies’ growth and strength. They were healthy, strong, and doing far better than anyone had expected. The nannies remained, assisting Isla whenever she needed help. But Isla did not lea

Soft beeping sounds filled the neonatal ward, steady and calm. The room smelled clean and warm, filled with soft lights and movements from nurses who passed by once in a while. Isla lay back against the hospital bed. Her body looked weak and tired, as if all the strength she had gathered for months had finally left her. Her skin was pale, and her lips were dry. But her face shone brighter than it ever had before. There was peace in her eyes together with pride. Gabriel sat beside her, holding her hand tightly, his thumb rubbed gently over her knuckles over and over and again. He had been sitting there for hours, refusing to move, refusing to rest. His eyes were tired, but they were full of love and disbelief. Together, both of them stared at the three new miracles placed right in front of them. Three cribs stood close to the bed where Isla lay. Each crib held a life. Each crib carried a story that should not have happened, yet did happen. The babies were strong. That was the firs

“Gabriel?” Isla’s trembling voice called out again. Her voice was weak, broken, and filled with fear. Sweat covered her face. Her hair clung to her forehead, and her hands shook as they held tightly to the bedsheets. Another wave of pain rolled through her body, and this time, it was more excruciating. “I am with you, my love,” Gabriel answered immediately. His voice was calm, but his heart was racing. He stood close to her head, holding her hand firmly, as if letting go would make everything fall apart. “Just a second. I am here. I am not going anywhere.” Isla tried to nod, but she cried out instead. Her body arched as the pain grew stronger. “I am sorry, Mr Wyndham, but—” the doctor began. “Talk to me,” Gabriel snapped, turning sharply toward him. His eyes were red, his jaw tight. Fear flashed openly on his face. “You don’t need to hide anything from me. Say it.” The doctor paused. The room suddenly felt too quiet. Machines beeped softly, and nurses exchanged quick looks. The

The strange sound that escaped Isla’s mouth was followed by another sharp cry. Her body jerked forward, and she clutched her stomach tightly, her face draining of all color. “Isla!” Gabriel shouted. He was beside her in seconds, dropping to his knees in front of her chair. His hands trembled as he held her face. “What is it? Talk to me. Please talk to me.” Her lips shook. “Gabriel… It hurts. Something is wrong.” Before anyone could react properly, another pain tore through her, stronger than the first. Isla screamed, her body curling inward as if trying to protect the baby inside her. The room erupted into chaos. “Call an ambulance!” John barked. “Now!” Gladys cried, already moving toward Isla. Gabriel did not hear anyone else. All he could hear was Isla’s cries. All he could see was her pain. He lifted her carefully, holding her against his chest. “I’m here,” he whispered again and again. “I’m here. You’re not alone.” By the time the ambulance arrived, Isla was already sh
