“Gabriel?” Isla’s trembling voice called out again.

Her voice was weak, broken, and filled with fear. Sweat covered her face. Her hair clung to her forehead, and her hands shook as they held tightly to the bedsheets. Another wave of pain rolled through her body, and this time, it was more excruciating.

“I am with you, my love,” Gabriel answered immediately. His voice was calm, but his heart was racing. He stood close to her head, holding her hand firmly, as if letting go would make everything fall apart. “Just a second. I am here. I am not going anywhere.”

Isla tried to nod, but she cried out instead. Her body arched as the pain grew stronger.

“I am sorry, Mr Wyndham, but—” the doctor began.

“Talk to me,” Gabriel snapped, turning sharply toward him. His eyes were red, his jaw tight. Fear flashed openly on his face. “You don’t need to hide anything from me. Say it.”

The doctor paused. The room suddenly felt too quiet. Machines beeped softly, and nurses exchanged quick looks. The

  • THE EXTRAORDINARY BRIDE OF THE WYNDHAM FAMILY    0235

Taking care of three babies was not easy at all. It was not something Isla could describe with just words. It was tiring, demanding, and sometimes overwhelming. Even with the help of three nurses and three nannies, sleep became a luxury she hardly enjoyed. Her nights were broken into short moments of rest. Her days were filled with feeding, cleaning, rocking, and worrying. But as the days slowly passed, Isla began to adjust. Motherhood no longer felt strange or frightening. She was learning. She was adapting. She was beginning to understand her children in ways no one else could. She could tell which cry belonged to Aurelian, which one meant Sebastian was uncomfortable, and which soft sound came from Elara when she needed to be held. The nurses eventually left. The doctors were satisfied with the babies’ growth and strength. They were healthy, strong, and doing far better than anyone had expected. The nannies remained, assisting Isla whenever she needed help. But Isla did not lea

Soft beeping sounds filled the neonatal ward, steady and calm. The room smelled clean and warm, filled with soft lights and movements from nurses who passed by once in a while. Isla lay back against the hospital bed. Her body looked weak and tired, as if all the strength she had gathered for months had finally left her. Her skin was pale, and her lips were dry. But her face shone brighter than it ever had before. There was peace in her eyes together with pride. Gabriel sat beside her, holding her hand tightly, his thumb rubbed gently over her knuckles over and over and again. He had been sitting there for hours, refusing to move, refusing to rest. His eyes were tired, but they were full of love and disbelief. Together, both of them stared at the three new miracles placed right in front of them. Three cribs stood close to the bed where Isla lay. Each crib held a life. Each crib carried a story that should not have happened, yet did happen. The babies were strong. That was the firs

The strange sound that escaped Isla’s mouth was followed by another sharp cry. Her body jerked forward, and she clutched her stomach tightly, her face draining of all color. “Isla!” Gabriel shouted. He was beside her in seconds, dropping to his knees in front of her chair. His hands trembled as he held her face. “What is it? Talk to me. Please talk to me.” Her lips shook. “Gabriel… It hurts. Something is wrong.” Before anyone could react properly, another pain tore through her, stronger than the first. Isla screamed, her body curling inward as if trying to protect the baby inside her. The room erupted into chaos. “Call an ambulance!” John barked. “Now!” Gladys cried, already moving toward Isla. Gabriel did not hear anyone else. All he could hear was Isla’s cries. All he could see was her pain. He lifted her carefully, holding her against his chest. “I’m here,” he whispered again and again. “I’m here. You’re not alone.” By the time the ambulance arrived, Isla was already sh

Isla slowly passed her phone to Gabriel, her fingers still trembling slightly. She did not trust her voice yet. Her heart was beating too fast, her chest rising and falling as if she had just run a long distance. Gabriel took the phone from her and leaned back in his seat. His eyes scanned the email. He repeated the process. His brows lifted slowly, and a small smile appeared on his lips. By the time he finished reading, his expression had completely softened. “Well,” he said gently, handing the phone back to her, “congratulations, my love.” Isla blinked, still stunned. “I think it was time we finally had that launch,” Gabriel continued. “Ten new investors, Isla. That is not small. That is huge. You really did it.” Isla swallowed hard. It was not just the number of investors that shocked her. No. Isla had seen powerful numbers while working with the Wyndham family. So, that was not the point. But this was different. This was hers, and this was her company. Her dream. The one s

By the time Gabriel and Isla arrived at the hospital, everything had already changed. Betsy had given birth. She had brought a beautiful baby girl into the world. The room felt different from the moment they stepped inside. It was calm, warm, and filled with a quiet kind of happiness that could not be forced. The air carried soft sounds—machines beeping gently, low voices, and the faint breathing of a newborn. Betsy lay on the hospital bed, her face pale but glowing. Sweat still clung to her skin, and her hair was slightly messy, but she looked peaceful. There was a tired smile on her lips, the kind that came after pain she went through. Beside her bed stood a small cradle. Inside the cradle lay the baby. She was wrapped in a soft white blanket, tiny and fragile, yet very real. Her little hands moved slowly, and her eyes were open, wide and curious, taking in the world for the very first time. Ben stood beside the cradle, frozen in place. One of the baby’s tiny fingers was wr
