The Beast Beneath the Throne

The growl continued.

It rolled upward through the hidden staircase beneath the shattered throne, deep enough to make the stone walls vibrate.

Nobody moved and obody breathed.

Even the Abyss Pack stopped fighting.

Every crimson eye turned toward the darkness rising from the opening.

The Primordial Darkness stared at the staircase.

Its shadow rippled uneasily.

The word escaped almost involuntarily.
