Chapter Nineteen.

"Mia..... She is dead– it killed her..."  Her fingers digged into her hair. Roughly yanking on the roots. 

"Hey." A hand stopped her. Pulling her against a hard chest. "Its–."

Salvador struggled for words. "Its–fine."

But truth be told, nothing felt fine. Not even saying it out loud did any better.

"I could have saved her–if only I haven't left. If only I wasn't fucking– scared. Uf I had sucked it all up and maybe tried to tried to treat her wounds instead of been pathetically useless–she'd still be alive–alive and well–that monster won't have gotten to her–everything would still–"

"It was not your fault." Salvador tried to comfort her.

"If I had tri–" 

"I said it's not your fault Luna." Salvador found himself raising his voice. Frustrated by Luna's outbreak.
