Melancholy

Getting back to the household made Emma feel melancholic as she realised that it was going to be a while before she saw Lucius again. She and Casey went to help out in the kitchen after getting back. They helped wash up the dishes, cut up vegetables and clean up. It was mostly the older women who manned the kitchen but they always glad to receive some help there. When they were done, they returned to their room but Emma didn’t stay there for long. A while after they had reached, someone knocked on the door.

“Come in,” Casey said lazily.

The door opened slowly and Katya peered in. she walked in with a smile. “Good to see your back. Hi Casey, Emma.”

“Hey, how are you?” Emma asked her.

“I’m great,” the teenage girl said. “I need to speak to you.”

“What’s going on?”

“Privately.”

Casey sat up. “Alright. I’ll leave you two.”

Katya shook her head. “No need. Emma can come with me. I prefer to talk from outside anyway.”
