Chapter:04:The Culprits:

Nancy turned around with a sneaky smile on her face as she responded to the person on the side of the receiver, “I'm not surprised you were able to pull such a feat, Cecilia. You are such a good actress and you deserve the Oscar for your wonderful performance, don't you worry in the future, I'll make sure you rise to the top of the entertainment industry. Haha!”  She said.

   “Of course, I wouldn't fail such an important course, would I? We've been planning this matter for a year already, I couldn't possibly fail to pull this off, right?” Cecilia said with a proud tone from the side of the line.

She walked toward her princess bed and sat down with a loud bang. Then, she raised her legs and placed them on top of each other while fiddling with her pedicures nails.

   “Of course, I trusted you. That's why I made you befriend her in the first place, remember?”  Nancy also took a sip from her glass of mineral water and sat down on her bed.

“Of course! Of course, I remember that and your gullible sister didn't even suspect a thing about all of this, she's really a village champion with no sense of reasoning. Did she really think that I'll be friends with her without motives? She's flying way above her level nowadays”  Cecilia Emerson mocked Nora sarcastically as she spoke.

 “She's not just flying above her levels with borrowed wings. She's also trying to fight for the spotlight with me, after all of these she wouldn't dare to raise her head in front of others in public ever again. Talk more about competing with me”  Nancy smiled sneakily and she dreams about her status in the future.

    

     “Of course not, She wouldn't dare to look at your face twice. Moreover, she would be too ashamed of herself if the news of her ill behavior get to the public and they even found that she had slept with a hooligan while forfeiting her position of becoming the young mistress of the Quade family, she will be castigated severely and she will lose face in front of others badly and there won't be a remedy” Cecilia Emerson said with a gritted smile.

Her eyes glint with excitement as she thought of how much humiliation of Nora would face. She couldn't wait to have her lost face in front of others.

Cecilia Emerson was mad at the thought of Nora getting a better life and even getting married to her dream family. She hated her and her good luck.

She couldn't sit by and allow good fortune to befall Nora, who was just a countryside pumpkin.

 After being humiliated once because of Nora, her desire to get back at Nora grew rapidly.

Three months ago, the Willard family wanted to prepare for Nora's presentation to the public as well as her engagement with Julius Quade, because of this, they needed to get her ready and for this to happen.

They needed to make her look presentable enough to be seen by others. Tessa Warner, on the other hand, has refused to have anything to do with Nora.

 She even refused to take her shopping, with no one else to do the job since Nancy was busy as well. Cecilia Emerson was the last option.

Of course, she didn't want to make herself look like the bad guy, so she agreed to take Nora out shopping.

When they arrived at the shop and came out of the car. Everyone focuses their gazes on Nora.

She was the center of attention, attraction, distraction, and even confusion. She was the focal point of the season and everyone didn't want to lose a good chance of getting a glimpse of her.

Everyone whispered to themselves and claimed that Nora was indeed very beautiful despite dressing in simple, plain,  faded jeans and a T-shirt. 

Their appreciative eyes lingered on her body while they walked into the shop.

The attention was only on Nora, and Cecilia Emerson has left sauntering bedside her like she didn't exist at all.

She was greatly humiliated by the fact that everyone prefer a countryside pumpkin with no social class or even proper etiquette to a billionaire heiress like her.

Because of this matter, she felt she had indeed suffered a grave chagrin and she wanted to make Nora pay for this.

With Nora losing her reputation and everyone hating her, she would be the only most wanted socialite in the entire Sun city after Nancy Willard.

“I was scared that things wouldn't go as planned. Thank God, I have you here to help me out. Hopefully, this would be enough for dad and mom to have thrown out of the Willard mansion. She should be sent back to the countryside or somewhere else, no one really cares what she does. As long as she's not staying here to cause deterrent in my way”  Nancy bite her lips bitterly as she spoke.

She gritted her teeth and clenched her fists and it was clear how aggrieved she was.

  “Don't worry, this is more than enough reasons and if this is not enough we can come up with something else after all” Cecilia Emerson seemed very sure.

   

Nancy Willard finally heaved a sigh of relief and asked, “I supposed my father has fulfilled the promise he made to you, right?”.

“Of course, he did. I couldn't believe the huge figure he sent me...I presume this is killing three birds with one stone”  

After she said that, she burst out laughing.

 “But of course! However, I need to go now, let's meet up some more time and think about this”.

Nancy Willard proposed.

  “Sure, I'll be glad to be of help”.

With that, Nancy disconnected the call. Then, she stood up and leaned against the door as a sneaky smile curve on her face.

She was on top of the world, soon or later she would force her parents to throw Nora back into the village.

Moreover, her mother, Tessa Warner already hated her like the plague. Even her father, Gilbert Willard hated her too but he didn't want to lose face in front of the Quade family, so he was persevering. 

If she added a little fuel to the already burning fire of hate, she would be left as the only heiress of the family without her doing much.

Just as she was thinking about this, her phone rang, jerking her out of her daze.

It was a call from an unknown number. She wanted to decline the call since she was not used to receiving calls from unknown numbers. Nevertheless,she took the call with the benefits of the doubt.

“Hello? Who is this?” Nancy asked with a scowl on her face

“Maam, this is Rexy. Do you remember me now? The guy you hired for the job last night” He asked.

 “Oh that Rexy? I was about to call you as well, I wanted to thank you for doing such a good job. Thank God, you called me first” Nancy said.

“What are you saying, ma'am? I haven't done anything. In fact, I was calling to inform you that the girl didn't show up in the room last night. I waited all night but she  didn't show up, what happened miss?” Rexy asked with curiosity in his voice.

 “What do you mean she didn't show up? She was personally brought to your room, how on earth would you say this to me now!” Nancy was agitated and she shouted involuntarily.

Realizing what she's done. Nancy quickly adjusted the tone of her voice before saying,“  Were you so drunk that you didn't realize when you had fun with her all night? Don't you that you are an idiot!”  Nancy roared in a quivering voice.

 “No ma'am, this is not the truth. I didn't have anything to drink last night. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to pull off the job well if I had drunk some alcohol. So, I didn't have anything to drink at all. I'm being honest” Rexy said.

 “What? How could you be so careless about such a sensitive matter? Why didn't you tell me earlier?”  

 “Of course, I've been trying to reach you all night but your phone was unreachable. I was only able to get through to you now”.

 “Okay, fine.  Don't worry about it anymore, I will send you the rest of your balance. Just go away from Sun city and never show up before me ever again”

Nancy threatened. Then, she immediately ended the call and heaved a sigh of relief.

After ending the call, Nancy became excited about this matter.

How could the man she arranged for Nora to spend the night not have seen her at all? 

If he didn't spend the night with her. Then, who did Nora spend the night with?.

Pondering over it, Nancy didn't have any idea of who the person might be.

After a while, she smiled and stopped tending to it.

  

  “Why do have to worry about who it was? After all, my job is done. Even if she slept with an imbecile, it's none of my business. she just needs to leave my way!”
