Elara's Pov
"Hey, wolf-less girl, make sure to scrub those floors well before the main event starts. I want this place looking as shiny as possible before the guest arrives!"
The floors looked sparkling clean already as though they had been licked by my tongue. I focused on every detail, making sure there were no stains, yet Dimitri insisted I'd barely started cleaning.
"You know what, Dimitri...." I shot at him, my worn-out fingers just managing to clench onto the edge of the mop, "I appreciate that you already acknowledge me by my status and remind me every day that I have no wolf...." That last sentence stung on my tongue, but I kept on, "but I will not acknowledge that you can't see how clean these floors are. This is the eighth time I'm scrubbing them....I won't scrub them anymore."
There was a glint in his eyes as he stared at me with malicious intent but I didn't budge. I wasn't going to let him intimidate me one more night.
He crossed over quickly to me and reached for my collar, yanking me away from where I stood. The mop fell out of my hand as I reached for his hand.
"Let go of me!" I shrieked.
"You're much of a talker for someone who's weak you don't even have your wolf to defend yourself." He said and shoved me to the side.
"You jerk!" I mumbled under my breath, my whole body trembling with fear and anger.
"What did you say to me?!" Dimitri clenched his fist and tightened his jaw, his eyes burning red with rage.
The other omegas who were preparing themselves to entertain the guests turned in my direction with malevolent gazes.
"I....I said nothing." My breath hitched in my throat. This wasn't how I thought I was going to stand up to Dimitri.
In just a blink, he was hovering over me. Pulling my hair hard until my eyes glistened with tears. My head throbbed with immense pain.
The others watched him as he gripped my hair with all his strength and pulled harder none of them moved a muscle to help me.
I shrieked in pain, flaring my hands and legs at him so I could regain my freedom.
"You're hurting me!" I screamed out.
"This will teach you not to mess with me." He grinned.
"Dimitri!" A voice called out from behind us. And all of a sudden, I felt relief. The pain in my head subtly vanishing.
Dimitri pushed me to the side and turned around. "Boss."
"How many times have I told you not to put your hands on women?"
"I'm sorry, boss. She caused it....she pushed me to the edge."
'Pushed you to the edge!' I rang out.
"We've got company." The boss said, ignoring Dimitri. His eyes flickered towards me, then back at the crowd.
"You girls know the normal f*e we charge for a night. We were short by a few dollars last night, I don't want that repeating itself again!"
"Yes sir." The other female omegas chorused and resumed their dressing. Their faces were now heavily endowed with makeup.
That caused a stir in my stomach. I would have loved to look as beautiful as they did, even if it was just for a few moments.
But I knew why they all had those kinds of make-up on, dressed in gowns that exposed all of their vital parts. They were mere pawns to entertain the men who came in here.
Although I was forced to work here relentlessly, I was glad that I wasn't made to engage in whatever those other female omegas were into.
"Elara, it's time for you to leave." The boss let out, jerking me back to reality.
Only then did I realize how long I had been staring at the omegas for. I slowly nodded my head, adjusted my hair, and got up to my feet with a grunt.
I reached for my cleaning tools when a gust of wind rushed past me. Turning around sharply to see the cause.
There stood none other than the Alpha at the entrance.
The Alpha! Alpha Henry!!
'What the hell was he doing here? In a brothel?!' I Intoned internally.
Without thinking, I fell to my knees and so did the others, including the boss.
"Your majesty!" The boss's jaw fell open, his eyes widening as he took in the sight of the Alpha. He was just as stunned as everyone of us.
He wasn't alone; standing beside him were twin guards with chests as broad as tables.
Everything that had been said about Alpha Henry was an understatement. Captivating was an understatement compared to the man that stood before us.
There was an ominous aura emanating from him that sent shivers down my spine.
And when his gaze caught mine, I froze instantly. The world around me disappeared and the only thing that I focused on was him.
'Hold....hold on. Is he walking towards me?' I screamed inside my head. 'He is!'
He crossed the distance between us until he was just an inch away from me.
His emerald eyes flickered with recognition as he stared at me. And at that moment, I forgot the pattern of breathing.
'Breathe, breathe, Elara, breathe' I reminded myself.
He crouched down until he got to my level, staring me dead in the eye.
My jaw dropped to the floor. His features from up close were immaculate.
And then, he uttered the words that sent my insides sprawling.
"I've found my mate...." He breathed against my face.
"What?!" The entire room echoed.
I shook my head disapprovingly, trying to get the words that were stuck in my throat out.
Dimitri jerked in our direction, "Your majesty. You must be mistaken...."
Alpha Henry put a hand without turning to face him, quieting Dimitri in an instant.
Hold that thought now. Wasn't the Alpha already married? How could I be his mate?!
Elara’s POVThree days later the council convened in the great hall of Moonshade Castle.Chrysantha stood in chains of pure silver, her once-proud face was hollow. The Velco brothers confirmed she still carried residual black magic, but the source, Saleen was gone. Gone and gone forever. Without it, she was only a woman who had chosen cruelty for years.Elder Venus spoke the sentence clearly.“For the kidnapping of the Alpha’s heirs, for the consultation of forbidden black magic, and for the near destruction of the pack, Chrysantha is sentenced to life imprisonment in the deepest dungeon of Iron fang. No parole, or visitors, only the moon priests who will monitor the residual magic until the day she dies.”As expected, the wretch didn't beg. She only stared at Henry with something that might have been regret, or might have been the last spark of venom. And quickly, the guards took her away.Damion never made it to his own sentencing. That same night, while the wards were being inspe
Elara's POVDawn came almost suddenly and I watched the sky above Moonshade Castle stirred a bit deep, unnatural and indigo. The stars swallowed by a black veil that pulsed like a living thing. The new moon hung low and swollen.Every wolf in the pack felt it. The pull, the wrongness, the gate stirring beneath the mountain.Henry stood beside me on the battlements, and our children held tightly between us. Lila's small hand was locked in mine, while our son rested against Henry's chest. He was still pale but breathing steady. The black marks on their skin had faded to faint silver scars after the chamber, but the memory of Saleen's voice speaking through my daughter still clawed at me.Alpha Shawn's warriors, our wa warriors from the iron Fang, and other pack's warrior's who volunteered to help us lined the walls. We were alot. Almost the whole packs in the entire race. The Velco brothers stood near the great lunar runes we had hastily re-activated. Henry pressed my palm, it's almost
Elara's POV "You used them." My voice shook. Saleen smiled through my daughter's face."Of course." My silver light exploded around me, and the chamber shook violently."Release them!" "Why?" "Because I said so!" Saleen's laughter filled the chamber."You still don't understand, do you?" The black mark on my daughter's chest pulsed. "The children were never meant to open the gate."My blood ran cold."Then what are they for?" Saleen's expression changed. For the first time, the amusement disappeared.Something ancient looked through my daughter's eyes."The gate needs a vessel." She said and her gaze moved toward Henry. Then Shawn, the warriors, and finally, it returned to me. "And now I have six."She said and my heart slammed against my ribs."No." I looked around and saw the chamber walls were glowing. The faded lunar runes were no longer faded, they were burning instead. The same black symbols that had been beneath the statue were now appearing across the walls. One by one a cir
Elara's POV The first thing I noticed was the silence. Not the peaceful kind, the dangerous kind. The kind that came after something terrible had already happened.I held my daughter tighter against my chest as Henry's arms remained wrapped around us. Our son was pressed against his other side, still unconscious, his small body frighteningly limp beneath the dark cloth.I could hear them breathing, and that was all that mattered for now."Elara."Henry's voice was low.I looked up.His eyes were fixed on the place where Saleen had disappeared.I followed his gaze and it revealed mothing, only the empty shadows. But something inside me refused to settle. She had been standing there and watching us, waiting for us.And then she had simply... left. There was no fight or any attempt to take the children back.My fingers tightened around my daughter's tiny body."Something is wrong."Henry's eyes shifted to me."I know."Alpha Shawn stepped forward, his sword still drawn."She let us take
Elara's POV My hands landed on her cheeks again, a loud sound emanating from the impact.Well, I wasn't surprised. I'd expected this from Crysantha, but then the implication would be that her body would answer for it.I grapped her jaw, lifting her face to see me.Now I was face to face with the very woman that had been the source of my pains since I stepped feet at starwars.I wanted to released my silver light energy. I wanted to grip her jaw, piercing claws into it until it hurt and blood flowed. I wanted to send her more and more excruciating pains, but na. I wasn't going to be the same thing that I despised. I wasn't going to behave like Crysantha because that would be the very thing she would have done, and even more if the roles were reversed.I let go of her jaw, now seated again close to her.The expressions in her face turned from rage to venomous to vengeance all at the same time."You see, a few moment from now, the council is going to seat."I lowered my voice as I took
Elara's POV "No! No! No you can't do that. You just can't!.Damion cried, while struggling to break off the grip of what was used in tying him."I thought you didn't care?"I asked and he looked at me, his nose flaying."You can't take my powers. You can't!"He barked."Oh, watch me do that now."I countered. His frustration rose, and he tried to form some ball of energy with his palm, but I knocked him down again with some energy. "Don't be silly, Damion. I don't have time here."He nodded, "not like you'll change your mind even if I surrendered my pack to my iron fang."He smiled. That kind of smile that only touched the lips and never the heart."You too will never set your eyes on those cursed children of yours."He barked. His eyes widened and he glared at me with hate. From me he glared at Henry who leaned against the wall, his arms folded. He was probably preventing himself from doing something irrational to Damion.Damion scoffed loudly. "I trust Chrysantha to never divulge
Elara's POV It took me almost thirty minutes to dress up, tie a scarf over my hair and come outside. The courtyard was buzzing with shouts, hammering, and carts rolling over the pebble pathway. The pack soldiers were training, and the barracks were being reinforced. They were all trying yet I sens
Elara's POV. My skin burned under his touch, and my heart made thoes drastic movements against its chambers.I should be breaking off his grip.No...not just that, I should be positioning the sword over his neck and demanding he went back to the iron fang, but instead, weaknesses pourned down on m
I shuddered and slid quickly into a black robe since it was getting cold outside, determined to trace this scent till wherever it led me.If Henry was here, probably to wage a war, then the pack must be alerted and the warriors positioned. My stomach churned, and this time not because of the way I
I left for one night...It's a miracle that morning finally came in a situation like this, because times like these, it never did.I thought it would never come as I had stopped expecting it either. After I left Henry at the border, I waltzed into my pack lands.I'd managed to find an area of land
