Forgiveness

Thankfully, the information had not yet reached the motel. Betsy the girl who ran it was shocked when I decided to check out at night. I refused to reply her questions and told her to keep the money I had already paid for that night. I didn’t find a taxi so I ran to the high way and began walking along it. About ten minutes later, a truck appeared. It was going the opposite direction so I crossed the road and stopped it.

“Hey, where are you going?” a man looked out of the window.

“Midnight Pack,” I said.

It was the safest place for me at that time. I didn’t intend to give myself up for Bryson but to hide in the one place he wouldn’t think of looking. Bryson knew that I had run away. He also knew that the people of Midnight Pack would surrender me if they found me. Therefore he wouldn’t think I’d do to hide there.
