Greedy man

The cottage was in the middle of the woods. Walking out of it, we saw a few pack guards playing cards under a small tree in the compound. They didn’t say anything as we walked into the woods. I was about to ask when, as if reading my mind, Kat told me that one of them was her boyfriend. Kat told me more about the pack as she led me deeper into the woods. A part of me wondered whether it was a good idea to trust her, but I decided to ignore that. Kat was the only connection I had to my past and it would do us good if we stuck together.

“The inner border is here,” Kat said. If you didn’t believe in the supernatural, you’d think there was nothing special about the boundary. It looked just like the other parts of the forest except I could feel strong energy there. “Come on.”
