13. Attack On Carriage

Zayn was dragged out to the waiting four-wheeled carriage that had ropes connected to two horses. The coachman was already on his seat and turned to see the warriors bring the banished prince.

"We can't stay here for long, there's an angry crowd behind" One of the warriors informed the coachman who nodded and helped to put Zayn in the carriage where he sat on a fine oak seat that was decorated with gold.

Two warriors sat at opposite sides with him at the centre and the coachman ahead then wriggled the ropes notifying the horses to move. They did obey and with their pulling strength, the carriage was wheeled away at a rough but quick pace.

Zayn shut his eyes tightly trying to cope with the pictures that his brain was bringing up. He could see his mother in pain again asking to see her son.

The council was bribed and they did not even try to hide it. A sentence was passed on him without proper consideration of the facts. No witness was even brought up to support the accusations that
