Destinee POV.The stench of damp invaded my senses as I lay groggily on a cold damp floor. Wincing, I pulled myself up to look at my surroundings. Letting my eyesight adjust to the darkness that envelopes us. I wonder where I am.The hum of silver around me sings in my ears. I’m in a cell.“Aura, Aura, can you hear me?” I ask in my mind when I hear a groan and it’s her.I release a sigh of relief.“Yeah, I can hear you.” She says, sadness in her voice. Sadness because our mate protected his ex-girlfriend. The woman who is mated to the leader of the rogues, the woman who orchestrated the attack and set us up.Aura read Crystal’s thoughts during the fighting. We heard everything that she and her mate has planned for the pack, and so Aura did what she was supposed to as an Alpha eliminate the threat. What we weren’t expecting was for Orion to protect her. That was a blow to our heart and so they fought and Aura lost control and would have killed him.“How long have we been out?” I ask he
Titus POV.The pain in my chest gets worse with every step I take walking away from Destinee, the tears sting my eyes. She is determined to cause me pain, and I deserve it.I deserve her wrath, the way she looked at me with disgust and hostility burn in my mind. She is hurting, and I caused it.She needs to cool off and for once it isn’t Aura that spat fire at me it was Destinee. All my hard work to earn her trust went up in flames when I stood between her and Crystal. The words spoke between us have cut deeper than any physical wound ever will. This is toxic. I know relationships are difficult, but this is more complicated than that.My mate, my other half of my soul, is locked up in the dungeon, surrounded by silver and wolfsbane. She is a danger to herself and the pack until she calms down and decides to tell me what happened. She will stay in the cell.Question is how long will it take? Knowing Destinee, it will take a while.Heading to my office, I open the door and walk towards
Destinee POV.I have lost track of time; I haven’t seen Titus since he dumped me in my new home.Sadia and Kendra bring me food and water everyday and a change of clothes. They have even tried to make me more comfortable with blankets. I am only allowed out of my cell under the watchful eyes of the pack warriors to use the actual toilet. Which is a separate room next to the stairs, which I thought was a storage room. At least I don’t have to use the bucket. I cringed at the thought, but still at least I can wash my face.“Aura, how long have been down here for?” I ask her. She is slowly going mad. She needs to be free. However, keeping us in here is breaking her spirit and replacing it with hate and a burning desire to destroy the pack and everyone in it.“At least 5 days, Destinee, we can break out, but I’m waiting.” I furrow my eyebrows and snuggle into the blankets. The sun is going down. Most of the time we sleep or pace the cell, nothing much else we can do.“What are you waiting
Titus POV.Driving away from Destinee was causing me more pain than her spitting fire at me. The ache was getting worse; the bond screaming at me to run back to her and hold her.But I needed answers and the only one who can give me them was Crystal’s father, Beta Nathan Delaney.“You ok Alpha?” Marcus looked at me through the rearview, I looked and felt like shit. I haven’t slept and all I’ve done is drink.“Yeah.” I replied with a sigh as I looked out of the window, watching the trees fly by.“Well, you look like shit. Kendra said that Destinee,” he sighs and watches my expression before he continued. “Well, she is covered in bruises and she is going into her shell. She doesn’t speak to either her or Sadia. It’s like she is waiting for something to happen. Titus, you need to sort this out soon. Aura is subdued, but Destinee is another matter.” He looks upset. He loves Destinee the same as the rest of the pack does.Sighing, I tell him, “it’s the bond.” He furrows his eyebrows. He go
Destinee POV.“Destinee, Titus has gone. It won’t be long before Crystal makes her move. Be ready and whatever you do, don’t believe what she says.” Aura tells me she is ready to tear this bitch’s head off and play soccer with it.“I know. Let’s just sleep like we would. No point in changing our daily routine.” I tell her and she nods her head with a smirk. She is ready, and so am I.A few hours later, we hear a loud bang and screams coming from above us; I gulp, knowing she is coming to kill me, but do I show fear? No, I don’t.Aura and I become alert, and I sit up in my cell.“You ready?” I ask Aura, and she nods her head.“Always. Let’s teach this bitch a lesson.” She is practically frothing at the mouth.“Remember to keep your block up. You are supposed to be subdued.” I tell her with a chuckle and she rolls her eyes.“What do you take me for, an amateur? I know what we need to do, babe. Just chill.” Before I can respond to her, the door opens with a creak and I stiffen up.“Well,
Titus POV.My world moved in slow motion, as I watched Destinee run her throat across the blade. My breath caught in my throat. It happened so fast, Sadia, and Kendra’s screams as Destinee fell and Crystal shifted and ran.My feet moved on their own and grabbed Destinee by her throat to help her heal, when I ordered the cuffs to be removed. Aura pushed forward, breaking out of the silver.A feral howl roared behind us all as Aura stood tall, her eyes white as she stared into my very soul. Throwing her head back, she howled and ran.I was paralysed in place. I couldn’t move as I watched my mate run towards him. Fenrir, who was standing in his gigantic wolf form. He is bigger than Aura. His eyes scanning over my pack. His fur was as black as night. In his wolf form, he is the same height as a grizzly bear on it’s hind legs.I watched as Sadia ran after her. Aura touched her forehead with her brother, and they both ran.I’ve lost her. My mate has left us to our fate, and it’s all my faul
Destinee POV.Listening to everything that has been said between Titus, Aura, and Fenrir. Was just weird. Feeling just how sad and defeated Aura felt made me feel so bad. I realised in that moment that she was more than the Goddess and my protector. She is vulnerable. Her goal has always been to protect me and to not give in to what she wants, but now I see I am the one who has been selfish to her needs. The guilt weighs heavily on me; I know she is right. I have pushed away Titus whilst he has pulled me closer. Causing Aura and Orion to both suffer. I realise just how petty I have been.Since we came here, all Aura has done is show aggression towards both Titus and Orion and I can only put that down to Crystal.Crystal, the rogue whore, has caused more pain and suffering to not just this pack but to her father’s pack and no doubt other packs, too.I understand why Titus agreed to let her go, and it was to save me. I believed what she said to me. The only thing in my mind was to prote
Destinee POV.Titus smashed his lips on mine and in that moment, I gave in to him. I needed him; I have been fighting with him for too long. His kiss is hungry and hot. Oh, my Goddess, was it hot.My hands trailed up his bare muscular tattooed chest and around the back of his neck. Biting on his bottom lip earned me a low satisfied growl from him and the butterflies in my stomach went into a frenzy as my core tightened in anticipation.Titus pressed closer, griping my hips and pulling closer to the edge of the vanity, his hand tangled in my hair. Breaking the kiss panting for breath, I felt dizzy.Kisses traced along my jaw and down my neck to my shoulder. He sucks and nips on the spot where his mark will sit, and I shudder with a breathy moan. Throwing my head back and my back arches, pushing my bra clad breasts into his chest. My hands leave his neck and trail down his chest to his shorts. His hand stops mine from going any further. Looking into his eyes, embarrassment washes over m
