Chapter 6 : Starting over again

The airplane that Giah and Lorraine boarded touchdown on the airport of their destination with Raine beginning to feel regrets of what she had done.

She was usually a level headed person  always weighing her options before acting on it. But in the case of that Collins guy she was totally reckless, probably her anger of being cheated on by the two of the person's she cared about  affect her judgement. It  may have contributed to her impulsive action  action towards  that Collins guy. She recalls that,there were something familiar about her husband that she find it hard to pinpoint. "Wait a minute Raine. Husband? He might have already made some actions for a revenge. Haah..." She concluded. she hunched her shoulders thinking . 

It would have been more easier to refuse her father's proposition compared to the things she had donr. Now she have to go away and change her identity so that she can carry out her plans of claiming the company. But the company future is on the line. It's not that she is after it's assets but it was more on the sentimental side  it's because that company is  what her mother left for her. She intends to claim what belongs to her . It's her mother's legacy. She had been working hard to have enough funds to take it back that even her father will not be able to contest. If only she had enough funds .

"Welcome my dear Lorraine! How was your flight?" Her aunt greeted her when they arrive in her house.

"It was uneventful Aunt Barbra compared the chaos I left behind. But it was comfortable. Thanks for the help, and thanks for sending Giah. She has been a great help. Miss you Aunt Barbara." She hug her aunt whom she had not met in person for a very long time.

"I miss you too Sweet Carrot. Your  so grown up  and very  beautiful you look like your mother." She check Lorraine's appearance appreciatively.

"Thanks Aunt Barbra.. When was it out last meeting? You haven't changed a bit.as if you're forever young." 

"I think  the lasti time I saw you  is about six months after your Dad marry that bitch, Amira! If not for your grandmother. What a kind soul she is,  I would forever lose contact whit my beautiful niece."

"Yes. I use to resent you for not coming to visit me just like what you promise. But when grandma explain to me the reasons I didn't resent you but I was still sad." She had a great rapport with her mother's half-sister. Unlike her and Zee. Her mother and her aunt Barbra were best friends.

"Aawh.  I'm sorry Sweet Carrot. But that is now water  under the bridge. You, we had just to start over."

" No Aunt Barbara. I will return to  claim what mom has left me!"

"Speaking of which , this is for you your grandma told me to keep it until you're ready. I been meaning to give it to you when you have able to have a place of your own but I think now is the best time." Her aunt gave her a sealed expanding envelop with documents inside and something hard that she suspects it's a small box.

"What is this? " Raine flipped the envelop from side to side before opening . it was from her grandma she recognized the handwriting In the note  left side the envelop.

"Look for your self I haven't  open it  eventhough I have an idea what is inside."

Dear my angel Lorraine,

 By the time you read this  I have been long gone,  I prepared this and keep it for your future . Use this money  the deeds and title to claim what is rightfully yours. The box contain the truth about Amira and the company I have compiled it over the years to secure your future. It also contain the most precious heirloom that your mother treasures, Amira was meaning to take it and claim it as her own but I hid it. 

I love you my angel I hope that life will be kind on you once I'm gone.be safe, be good.

Lorraine hold back the tears that threatens to fall. She clearly recall the day that her grandma passed away. She was reluctant to leave for that summer camp that year. But her grandma insisted she go. To escape her stepmother"s cruelty as she and her son will be busy that summer.  But she barely been twenty four hours in the camp when she was called back home. Something happened to her grandmother.

When she got back all she saw was her grandma inside the coffin after that she never went to that summer camp instead she went to enroll in different sport activities compete or merely train just to take her time away from the mansion that holds too much memories of her grandmother and to avoid the bitches mother and daughter tandem. Life had not been easy with her grandma gone after that but she had to surpassed all the difficulties.

Amira had succeeded to take the reigns of running the household like an evil Queen. So she had just waited to reach the age when she will be able to leave the mansion, and live on her own. 

She checked on the other  contents of the envelope, there were certificate of shares of the company belonging to her grandma a secret account in her name with an initial amount of deposit, Title of the mansion and the last will  and testament of her mother naming her the sole heir of what she own and a jewelry box containing  a flash drive and her most precious piece of  jewelry a choker with  three lines of pearls that holds a locket at the center front and an intricate clasp as lock.

She gets curious of why her mother wrote her last will and testament  when obviously  she is too young to prepare for her future besides her mother died in an accident when she was seven years old. She is surprised to read that she is the sole heir of everything her mother owns. There were nothing that indicates her father's ownerships with the things that his family enjoyed and wasted.

Could it be? She tried to erase it from her mind She had strong suspicions that she never wanted to dwell. Not now perhaps in the near future.
