Not a Fairytale

His warm hug made me shiver for a few minutes before I realized that it is too early for this act in accord with my plan.

I made a few steps away from him before turning my phase towards him and gave him a face with a serious look which is totally evident.

"What are you doing?" I asked him while looking at him directly in the eyes.

He stared at me intently and looked away after a few seconds before lowering his head which is now facing the floor.

"I'm sorry, Avery. Uhm- I think I-I just feel guilty about what I did to you that makes me do that when I got a chance to have you by myself right now", he utterly answer while placing his left hand in the back of his head and touched his hair.

"Should I go out for a while so that you can get dressed before continuing my work, sir"; I told him while picking the vacuum to continue my disrupted work.

"There's no need for you to do this right now, Avery. I can handle this on my own", he mentioned while taking the vacuum from my hand.

"No. It is my job to do it, sir. I don't want to lose my job by neglecting one. So, if you'll excuse me", I can't help raising my voice in adding that up.

"I am your employer, your boss, your master, or whatsoever they call us. So I have the right to give you commands, right? And don't worry, I'll inform Miss Portia about this so that you can still keep your work", he added while looking at me intently.

I don't know what to say anymore and was just left dumbfounded by the things he said. He got a point though.

"If that is the case, then I'll be leaving now"; I told him before picking up my cleaning tools.

"No. Please stay for a while", he begs while turning off the vacuum.

"Do you need anything or is there anything that I can do for you, sir?" I asked while taking my step towards the door and getting hold of the doorknob.

He sits in the corner of his bed and motioned his hand to me to sit beside him.

I can see his adam's apple going up and down while looking at me going towards him after I locked the door.

He is still directly looking at me with his eyes full of passion and I know exactly what he wants from me. I placed my tools on the edge and stood in front of him.

"Sir, do you want to say something?", I asked him once more.

"Y-yes. I-I like you, Avery", he is uttering but I can sense that he is telling the truth.

He obviously look tensed than ever and his stares made me shiver a bit again.

"And I'm trying my best to refrain myself in pulling you towards me right now to own you. God, you're making me crazy!", he exclaimed in a low voice.

I can see this coming and I really feel bad for this guy because I can't really grant such request. If only he knew where this is leading us, he'll surely regret every move he is making and every word he is saying.

"Are you done?", I throw a question to him that made his brows wrinkled for a while.

"I'm not like the usual woman you meet everywhere. You show interest to them, they easily bite for it and you'll get them laid right away. You can't like me and you should never like me because I won't feel such a thing towards you. I'm just your maid here and fairytales that make poor maids or housekeepers a princess will stay as a fairytale for me. I hope you get it, sir"; I said before going out from that room.

After closing the door of his room, I can feel my heart thumping rapidly like I'm being chased by wild horses. If this man only knew how intimidating he is.

I'm about to walk towards the elevator when I met Duke in the hallway. As usual, he really looks serious and weird.

"You are Avery, right?"; I'm surprised when he talked after reaching his door.

He looked at me in a very strange way.

"Yes, sir. I am", I answered him even I still haven't forgotten how rude he is in our first encounter.

He gave me a stare that looks like he is undergoing an FBI search.

"Is there something wrong, sir?", I asked him back.

"My brother mentioned you to me recently and I'm not sure if he had already talked to you", he remarked while still looking at me with an emotionless stare.

"I already did, sir"; I replied with all courtesy.

"Oh, I see. Okay. You may go now, Miss Rosenfield", he pronounced before going into his room.

The revelation that Devin made a while is still making my heart pounding hard right now and this not a good sign at all!
