His Heart, My Mission

“Come with me downstairs”, he whispered which tickled my ear slightly because of his warm breath.

I just nod and we quickly get out from the water with his help.

“We’ll be right back guys. We will just get a few snacks”, he told the group as he is still holding me by my waist and handed me my robe for me to cover.

The water is still dripping down my hair when we reached the elevator as well as his.

We’re both quiet as we are going in the lower floor but his hands are still there, giving me the warmth that I badly need.

“Are you alright?”, he finally spoke which gave me a relief.

“Yes. I’m totally fine, just a little bit dizzy because of the drink that we had but I can still manage to handle myself”, I answered him without even blinking and looking at him.

Now, I don’t even know what to say after the scene we had made in the pool.

I really thought that we’re going down the kitchen which is located on the ground floor but we stopped in the third floor instead.

I just gone silent when he grabbed my left hand and I don’t really understand but it seems that he is like a magnet that wherever he will take me, you’ll surely find me there too.

“Wait! Where are we going?”, I asked him with confusion while we stopped for a while in the hallway.

“I just need to get something in my room. I need to get an extra shirt for you. I don’t want the other men there to feast on you”, he said while pulling me gently toward his room.

After he entered his room, I had decided to stay outside.

But when he saw me standing still near the door of his room, he pulled me inside and locked the door.

“Don’t worry, I don’t bite”; he said while checking his closet and pulled a navy blue shirt. "Put this on, this will suit you."

“I can just go to my room and get my own shirt. You don’t have to let me borrow one from you”, I frankly confront him with a serious tone in my voice.

He just gave me an ‘are you serious’ look which irritate me instantly.

“I’m serious. I’ll just get one downstairs”, I told him then reached for the door knob but before I can do that, he held my waist with his two big hands and turned me around which made me to face him.

Our faces were just a few inches away that I can even smell his breath.

A combination of wine and his natural scent which is driving me crazy without knowing the reason.

I really think that I’m getting drunk since I’m becoming delusional already.

“Do you want me, Avery? Do you want this?” he asked me in a low voice with a heavy breathing.

My heartbeat is racing while looking at his face which makes me nod automatically.

Without saying anything, he pulled my body closer than ever to his body which intensified the heat that our bodies were releasing.

And in a tick of the clock, our lips were intertwined again like hungry lions who are devouring our preys.     

His kisses are going deeper that I froze for a minute upon realizing the possibilities after this.

He noticed that I stopped responding and his stare is melting me.

It seems that his eyes are trying to talk me, telling me to go on, to be fearless for once.

“I’m falling in love with you, Avery”; there, he said it and I knew I already won this battle a couple of weeks before I’ll end my mission.

“How can you say that?” I asked while looking back at him as intense as he do.

“I won’t pursue you this long if I’m not serious with you. It may sound absurd but I even used my friend to make you jealous but it didn’t worked out. Don’t you feel anything for me at all?” his tone sounds like helpless but with eagerness and I can even tell that his eyes are teary already.

But my cold heart is overruling me by this instant, “You’re just drunk, Devin. Tomorrow, you’ll surely forget that this happened and you’ll even forget that you said that”.

He just looked at me helplessly still and held my hand.

“Being drunk might be a good excuse but I’m telling you, I know what I feel for you and I’m certain with it”, his tone is deep and serious which made me grip his hand tighter.
