Perfect Bait

I am about to go to my room when he grabbed me to the corner while holding my left arm.

“What are you trying to do now? Will you let John fall in love with you or flirt with him and you’ll do the same thing that you’ve done to me? He is my friend, Avery.”

I slapped him hard.

“How dare you accusing me of such things? Are you serious, Devin? Are you hearing yourself right now?”

I walked out and quickly went to my room without looking back at him.

He’s really trying me at this point.

“Hi. Can you hand me my towel, please?”, John asked after I placed the tray of snacks in the table near the pool.

“Sure. Just a sec”, I respond then gave him his towel.

The water is dripping from his a bit lengthy hair and I remembered that time that I got drowned in our pool when I was four.

I almost die and I am very thankful to my babysitter who saved me.

She quickly respond since I am panicking in the water by that time.

“Are you alright? You look worried”, I got back to my senses when I heard John’s voice.

“Yeah, I’m okay. Do you need anything else?”, I asked which draw a smile on his face.

“Yes”, I don’t like the way he said it and the smile that comes along with it.

“Can I have your contact detail? Or your social media account? I want to keep in touch with you after this day”, he’s very straightforward like he is really used in this kind of situation.

“I’m sorry, I don’t have any of those. If you need anything, you’re free to request downstairs”, I told him before leaving him with Devin’s other visitor’s in the other side of the pool.

It is ten in the evening when Devin requested for a few bottles of wine to be brought in the pool area.

I am on my way to the area when Devin blocked me in the elevator downstairs.

“Let me just bring it there. Just go and rest”, he instruct which made me glare at him.

“This is my job, sir. This is my last task tonight”, I said and proceed to the elevator.

He can’t do anything about it so he just go with me inside.

“I’m still your boss. You should still follow my commands”, he said in a serious and low tone.

“I understand that. But I am instructed as well by Miss Portia to do my job well-handed in here. I hope you’re not giving such instructions for personal reasons”, I answered him.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to accuse you beforehand. I just lose my temper when I felt that John is trying to hit on you”, he said while lowering his head.

I never gave him a word after his apology.

I’m just quiet the whole time until we reached the rooftop.

I am handling the bottles of wine when Devin grabbed some of those to help me out.

 “Why don’t you join us, Avery?” Melissa asked with a smile.

“I bet your work for today is done. It is time for you to chill as well. Come on, join us”; she persuaded and John seconded the motion.

“Yeah, she’s right. Join us”, he said with those charming smile.

I caught Devin giving me a warning look and I can see that as a go signal for me.

Let’s see what he’ll do with this one this time.

“Sure. If that’s okay with you, it will be my pleasure. Let me go and change first”, I said while smiling.

“Go ahead, Avery. We will wait for you in here”, Melissa told me excitedly.

I’m really not sure what her motive is but let’s see.

I went to my room and told Miss Portia what did Devin’s visitors had requested.

She nod and I quickly went to the bathroom to change.

“Are you sure you’ll be wearing that, Avery?” Miss Portia asked me when I got out.

I am wearing a revealing black two-piece bikini that I bought from France last year.

I haven’t got the chance to wear this so I think it is the perfect time now.

The perfect time to get Devin into my hands in my own ways. 

“Yes, Miss Portia. Why? Does it look fine with me?’’, I asked her with a shy look.

“No, it doesn’t. It looks perfect on you”, she complimented which I chuckle.

“Thanks, Miss Portia”, I said before going out while wearing a robe to cover it for now.
