"What?" Olivia looked ready to beat her own father up. "I don't want to. Why would you even suggest that?"

"Well, since you have decided to give Jackson another chance, despite our disagreement, I don't see any reason for you to still stay seven hours away from the headquarters," Daniel replied through the video call.

I rolled my eyes.

I had to agree about one thing - Daniel Smith had a competition going on with my biological father as to who the shittier one was.

They had been on call for the past twenty minutes and not once he asked how Olivia was doing, how Kelsey was doing or what she really wanted.

He didn't even say he missed them and wanted them back because of that.

He was only worried about the profits that Olivia could make at the headquarters.

"But Kelsey is happy here," Olivia argued, pacing the room with the phone aimed at her face.

"And she has made friends."

"Friends can be made anywhere, Olivia." Daniel's voice was firm.
