(Selene’s POV)

The moon hung low that night, its silver light spilling over the old courtyard.

Everyone else had gone to bed—or at least, that’s what I told my cousins before sneaking out.

They’d been hovering around me since Grandpa and Ronan left, especially Celina, acting as if I might disappear if they looked away for five seconds.

I needed some air.

Finally breaking free of their protective bubble felt like escaping a cage. The air outside was cool and smelled faintly of pine and wildflowers that only bloomed at night.

My steps were quiet as I walked along the stone path, following the soft sound of leaves rustling in the wind.

The castle grounds looked different under the moonlight. It appeared more ancient and more beautiful. The torches along the walls burned low, and the night insects sang somewhere in the distance.

I didn’t know where I was going exactly, only that my feet kept moving, carrying me further from the hall.

After a few turns, I stumbled upo

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Reflection

(Selene’s POV) When I got back to my room, I didn’t bother lighting the candles. The silence felt heavy but strangely comforting. I just wanted to be alone—to lie down and maybe forget everything for a while.I fell onto the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling as my thoughts replayed the day in pieces. The mountain, Fenrir, the way his voice softened when he spoke to me. And then his words—the ones that somehow stuck to my mind like a whisper I couldn’t shake.“You don’t have to be sad. A mate is said to be what is chosen for you, but in the end, you can always be free to tread and choose the person who you want to spend the rest of your life with. No gods, no bonds to dictate your life. Just… you.”Those words had felt strange at first. Like something I shouldn’t believe in—but wanted to.I closed my eyes, remembering how serious he had looked when he said it. There was a calm in his tone, but behind it, there was something else. Something deep and familiar, like he had once believe

  • The Broken Luna Returns   What it means to truly live?

(Selene’s POV) “Open your eyes now,” Fenrir said softly. His voice was low, calm, like the whisper of wind passing through tall grass.I hesitated for a moment, my lashes trembling before I finally let them flutter open. And when I did, the air caught in my throat. Before me stretched a breathtaking view, so vast and unreal it made my heart still for a second. We were standing at the edge of a high mountain, and beneath us lay an endless sea of emerald forest. Trees swayed gently as if moving in rhythm with the wind’s hum. Sunlight streamed through gaps in the clouds, touching the leaves until they glowed. In the distance, a waterfall cascaded down a cliff, its mist catching the light and scattering it into tiny rainbows. It was nothing like I’ve ever seen before. It almost looked like the entire world was alive and breathing in perfect harmony. There was only one word that came to mind that could describe this place.

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Dwindling Emotions

(Selene’s POV) There was laughter, a few surprised gasps, and a flurry of congratulations that came their way. My lips parted slightly, but no words came out. Ryker gazed at me and there was something unreadable in his gaze, guilt, maybe regret, but before I could make sense of it, he looked away. I stood there, my fingers curling tightly around the strap of the small bag I carried. It wasn’t supposed to sting this much. I had told myself I’d moved on. I had even started believing it. But seeing him there, beside her, with the woman he chose over me—it felt like something heavy had settled deep in my chest. Still, I walked forward. I helped them unpack, placing boxes down beside the stairs, keeping my hands busy so my thoughts wouldn’t spill. Ryker turned slightly when I got close, his movements slowing. “Hey,” he said, his voice low.

  • The Broken Luna Returns   A News Worth Celebrating

(Selene’s POV) Ronan was standing outside, his expression stoic as always. “Selene,” he started, and he looked at me intently. “Are you alright? You look ashen.” “Am I?” I touched my face, laughing a little to ease the mood. “It must be because of the heat.” I said, and he nodded.“What are you doing here?” I asked.“Alpha Grey and the others have arrived. Grandpa says we should all meet them in the courtyard.”My heartbeat quickened. “Already?”He nodded. “Yes. They just got here.”I forced a small smile. “Alright. Let’s go.”He nodded again and turned to leave as I followed. But before I left, I heard my own voice in my head again, only this time it was my thought reaching out. “I’ll see you later,” I whispered silently, hoping Fenrir could still hear me through whatever strange link we had earlier. It was quire curious since I thought only werewolves have such ability

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Hiding

(Selene’s POV) I dragged Fenrir down the hallway, ignoring the few servants who passed by and gave us strange looks. My grip on his wrist tightened each time I felt him smirk behind me, it only made me walk faster. When we reached my room, I yanked the door open, pulled him inside, and shut it behind us with a loud thud. For a moment, there was only silence. Then I turned to face him, my frustration bubbling up seeing that he doesn’t look like he care about what just happened. His lips then slowly curved into a small, teasing smile. “You look cute when you’re being hysterical, you should learn to calm down a little.”My jaw dropped. “Excuse me?”He chuckled softly, the sound deep and annoyingly smooth. “I’m just saying—your face does that little scrunch when you’re angry. It’s… amusing.”I stared at him, disbelief flooding through me. “Is this funny to you?”That made his smile fade. He blinked, realizing maybe he’d gone too far. His tone softened immediately. “No… sorry. That was

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Sneaking

(Selene’s POV) The answer came almost instantly.
“It’s me… Fenrir.”I spat out the water in my mouth.“I’m here outside.”Everyone at the table jumped in surprise as I coughed and waved my hands. “I’m fine! I’m fine!” I wheezed, my face red from embarrassment and from the water going down the wrong way.Ughh!! This day is not going my way.“Selene,” Marcus called me out, clearly confused, “what’s wrong with you? You’re been acting weirdly since this earlier.”I laughed nervously. “Nothing! I just, uh… need to go to my room for a bit.”Before anyone could question me further, I stood up so fast that my chair nearly toppled backward. I grabbed a napkin, smiled awkwardly at everyone staring at me, and hurried toward the door. When I opened it, my breath hitched.Standing right outside, with his hands casually in his pockets, was Fenrir. His silver hair gleamed faintly, and his shar
