When Evelyn returned to the head table, Lucian stood up immediately, taking her into his arms and scanning her face for any sign of distress.

"What happened?" Lucian asked, his eyes burning with sharp concern as he noticed her slightly flushed cheeks.

"I tripped in the hallway, Lucian," Evelyn whispered, leaning close to his ear. "I bumped into Director Harrison. He was very angry."

Lucian’s jaw clenched, a dangerous, dark aura radiating from his body. "Did he touch you?"

"No," Evelyn murmured, slipping her hand under the table and pressing the stolen USB flash drive directly into Lucian’s open palm.

Lucian froze.

His thumb brushed over the micro-drive, his heart doing a sudden, violent thud against his ribs. He looked down at Evelyn, his dark eyes wide with shock and absolute disbelief.

"What is this?" Lucian whispered, his voice barely audible under the roar of the applause as Director Harrison took the stage at the front of the ballroom.

"Harrison’s left pocket," Evelyn whispered into his ear, her voice dripping with sweet, lethal victory. "He was planning to use the podium projector to show leaked Cayman account files to the press in thirty seconds. That drive holds his actual correspondence with your rival company."

Lucian stared at his blind bride, his mind racing at lightspeed.

She swapped the drive? During a fake stumble?!

Before Lucian could even process the terrifying brilliance of the woman sitting beside him, Director Harrison cleared his throat into the podium microphone, his voice echoing across the speaker system.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the board, esteemed guests, and members of the press," Harrison announced, a triumphant, wicked grin on his face. "Tonight, before we toast to the Blackwood Group's quarterly profits, I have an urgent matter of national security to bring to light regarding CEO Lucian Blackwood."

The ballroom grew instantly quiet. Reporters raised their cameras, their lenses focused on the stage.

"Lucian Blackwood has been using shell companies to embezzle billions out of the capital!" Harrison shouted dramatically, pulling the dummy USB drive from his pocket and plugging it directly into the podium’s master digital projector. "And I have the proof right here on this server!"

Harrison slammed the enter key on the podium console.

The massive, eighty-foot LED screen behind the stage lit up in bright, high-definition resolution.

The crowd gasped in absolute horror!

Instead of financial leaks linking Lucian to embezzlement, the screen displayed Harrison’s private offshore banking records, encrypted emails detailing his sale of Blackwood trade secrets, and audio logs of Harrison admitting to poisoning the former Vance estate CEO!

"If we kill old man Vance and frame the blind girl, Lucian's reputation will crumble!" Harrison’s recorded voice blasted through the ballroom's surround-sound speakers in crisp, undeniable clarity!

Harrison’s face turned paper-white. His eyes bulged out of his head as he stared at the screen in pure, paralyzed terror. "W-What?! No! This is wrong! This isn't what was on the drive!"

Panicked murmurs erupted through the crowd! Reporters began snapping photos frantically as the evidence of Harrison’s high treason broadcasted live across every financial network in the capital!

Lucian stood up slowly from the head table, his towering figure exuding a terrifying, unstoppable authority. He signaled Marcus with a single wave of his hand.

Six armed Blackwood security officers swarmed the stage, tackling Director Harrison to the floor and pinning his arms behind his back as he screamed hysterically!

"Lucian! It's a setup! The blind girl did this! She's a demon! She touched me in the hallway!" Harrison shrieked as he was dragged off the stage, his mind completely broken.

The entire room turned toward Lucian and Evelyn.

Lucian didn't look at Harrison, nor did he look at the press. He stood beside Evelyn, looking down at her serene, breathtaking face with a mixture of raw awe, fierce pride, and terrifying obsession.

He reached down, cupping her face in his broad hands, and brought his lips down onto hers in a deep, passionate, and possessive kiss right in front of every camera in the capital.

The ballroom erupted into deafening applause and flashing lights!

"You incredible, dangerous woman," Lucian growled against her lips, his pulse racing like a wild stallion as he pulled back to stare into her empty, beautiful eyes. "Who are you really, Evelyn Blackwood?"

Evelyn smiled softly, leaning her forehead against his chest as she listened to his wild, galloping heartbeat.

"I am just your blind bride, Lucian," she whispered sweet and clear. "And I hear everything."

Outside the expansive floor-to-ceiling glass windows, a soft, pristine winter snow fell steadily over the sprawling, illuminated skyline of the capital.Inside the room, the air was warm, filled with the soft hum of heart monitors and the crackle of a private fireplace set into the wall.Suddenly, the tense, quiet atmosphere was shattered by a loud, clear, energetic newborn cry echoing through the room!"It's a boy!" Dr. Weber declared joyfully, his voice echoing with genuine celebration. He carefully wiped down the squirming infant and wrapped him in a plush, white cashmere blanket before gently laying him straight into Evelyn’s waiting arms. Two weeks had passed since the catastrophic collapse of the International Banking Guild. The ripple effects of that historic trading morning had completely reshaped the capital’s power structure. Financial analysts on major news networks continued to analyze the sudden downfall of Chairman Croft's banking empire, attributing it to a masterclass in market defense by Blackwood Group and Vance Pharmaceuticals.Under the unified leadership of Lucian and Evelyn, both conglomerates had merged their core operations seamlessly. The city, which had spent months in a state of tense corporate warfare, was now entering an era of unprecedented stability and economic growth. At Blackwood Manor, winter had completely given way to late spring. The surrounding two-hundred-acre private estate was bathed in gentle, golden sunlight, with sprawling gardens filled with blooming white roses, jasmine, and fresh ivy. The crisp breeze carried the sweet scent of blossoms across the manicured lawns.Inside t

The capital’s financial district was ablaze with neon lights and frantic energy as the opening bell signaled the start of the trading day at 9:30 AM. Rain slicked the pavement outside the high-rise towers, but inside the trading floors, the heat was suffocating.Inside the glass-walled executive suite on the top floor of Blackwood Tower, Lucian and Evelyn sat side-by-side at a long mahogany conference table. Marcus stood nearby with a specialized team of six top financial analysts monitoring thirty high-speed trading monitors that hummed with real-time global market data.On the primary wall screen, the stock price of Blackwood Group was displayed in giant silver numbers: $420.50 PER SHARE."Boss," Marcus spoke rapidly, his fingers flying across his encrypted laptop keyboard. "The Banking Guild's proxy accounts in Zurich just dumped two million synthetic short shares into the public order book! The price is taking a hit!"The silver numbers on the main display flickered, turning

The news of Evelyn’s pregnancy had brought a rare, pure joy to the grand halls of Blackwood Manor, but with great joy came an even greater need for unshakeable vigilance.Lucian had doubled the security perimeter surrounding the private estate overnight. Specialized signal-jamming equipment and high-level encryption systems were installed in every communication terminal. Down at the front gates, Marcus personally oversaw a dedicated, twenty-four-hour tactical detail assigned exclusively to protecting Evelyn and her father, Arthur Vance.Inside Lucian’s third-floor study, the room was quiet save for the crackle of the marble fireplace. The soft glow of the desk lamp illuminated thick legal files detailing the complex corporate restructuring of Vance Pharmaceuticals.Evelyn walked into the room silently, her black cane tapping lightly and rhythmically against the polished oak floor. She wore a soft cream knit sweater and wide-leg trousers, her dark hair cascading down her back in lo

That evening, a gentle spring rain fell over Blackwood Manor. The grand estate was peaceful. High above the bustling city, inside the master suite, the floor-to-ceiling glass doors were pushed open slightly, allowing the cool, lavender-scented evening air to fill the warm room.A soft fire crackled in the marble fireplace, casting a golden, flickering light across the plush velvet sofas and the wide mahogany bed.Evelyn sat on the wide window seat, wrapped in a comfortable silk robe, holding a warm mug of chamomile tea. She listened to the soothing cadence of the rain tapping against the glass and the distant rustle of the pine trees in the garden.Footsteps sounded across the hardwood floor—heavy, warm, and familiar.Lucian walked over to the window seat, having discarded his suit jacket and tie. He sat beside her, wrapping his long legs around her, pulling her back against his broad chest.Evelyn leaned back into his warm embrace, letting her head rest over his heart.Thud..

One month later, the spring sun broke over the capital, transforming the cityscape into a dazzling horizon of glass, steel, and blooming greenery. At the headquarters of Vance Pharmaceutical Group—formerly the Sterling Medical Division—the grand lobby was filled with hundreds of reporters, international investors, and medical executives. A massive banner hung above the main entrance: VANCE PHARMACEUTICALS - ANNUAL INNOVATION SUMMIT.Behind the velvet curtain on the secondary stage, Arthur Vance stood wearing a crisp navy suit. Though he used a polished mahogany cane for balance, his posture was tall, his eyes sharp, and his face full of vibrant life.Standing beside him was Evelyn, looking breathtaking in an emerald-green silk gown with high-structured collar details and diamond earrings.Lucian stood directly behind her, his hand resting securely against the small of her back, radiating an imposing, regal aura that kept every executive in the building at a respectful distance.
